Not much happening here at present a bit of sleet before and some rain.

A little bit of wind now. But only an amber warning here- NW.

TheSoapyFrog · 18/02/2022 13:18

I'm in Kent and it is very windy. Hardly anyone has any fence panels left standing and the trampoline is desperately trying to escape.

HalterBeck · 18/02/2022 13:18

I was literally about to post that in in Manchester and it's sunny and nice out.

Crazy rain just started though.

SoupDragon · 18/02/2022 13:18

Was that it then?

🙄

HalterBeck · 18/02/2022 13:19

Still not much wind though

Friendofdennis · 18/02/2022 13:20

Our garden fences are destroyed. We live in south west Wales

For those thinking it's no big deal, here's the current state of the O2's roof in London, taken from a Twitter news feed. Eunice is shredding it. Sad

Where is this storm then?
TYU7 · 18/02/2022 13:20

Getting quite windy now in NW. Stronger than the other day I’d say. We love a good storm in this country. Media whip everyone into a frenzy!

Suzi888 · 18/02/2022 13:20

DD is off school and here we are, trying to work from home and it’s a a tad windy…FFS.

toomuchlaundry · 18/02/2022 13:20

Our fences are destroyed too and we have never had problems with them before

MrsTrumpton · 18/02/2022 13:21

Hang on, picture didn't load.

Where is this storm then?
Livebythecoast · 18/02/2022 13:21

Kent coast - our guttering has blown off, the front door slammed behind me, had to go round the back, stand on a wheelie bin to scale my brick wall whilst being whipped in the face by tree branches. Landed on shingle with an almighty thud, fell backwards and now feeling very sorry for myself Sad

sheslittlebutfierce · 18/02/2022 13:21

Herefordshire/Welsh border lots of sirens, flying debris.

Very very windy, had rain and flurries

HalterBeck · 18/02/2022 13:22

@HalterBeck

Still not much wind though
Spoke too soon picking up now
Booklover3 · 18/02/2022 13:24

Feels like it’s getting worse here in Northants

CaptaNoctem · 18/02/2022 13:25

I'm on top of the Mendips and it's a bit blowy but I've seen it as bad before without all the media hype.

PickAChew · 18/02/2022 13:25

@BearOfEasttown

I know some parts of the country have had it bad, but on the 'weather' board, some of the comments on the storm eunice thread(s) are just OTT and dramatic. Confused

Like 'Our walnut tree has just come up at the roots and smashed our shed to bits. Feeling both sad and a bit afraid. Kids are crying.'

And

'I am sobbing with fear.' and 'I'm literally shaking...' and 'We didn’t go to school - and had lots of tears. I feel really bad, but I got too scared.'

And 'Very hard to focus on work here. Every time there's a big gust I can't help but see how far the tree in our back garden is bending. Current answer: more than I thought possible. It's a big, thorny bastard so if branches come off they'll be pretty nasty.'

I think the posters on that board are whipping each other up, more than any storm possibly could! Some posters appear to be purposely scaring others. It's like they are enjoying the drama. Even this thread 'where's this storm then?' has been posted by a poster that seems to be a little irked that Storm Eunice hasn't been a lot worse! Confused

I thought you had work to do.
User135644 · 18/02/2022 13:25

It'll be damaging in a few areas, like most storms are (there's several of them a year). Most places will just experience strong winds and the odd bit of debris.

Everything just has to be a three act drama these days.

Wow!!!!
Friendofdennis · 18/02/2022 13:25

I don’t see the point of the ‘ was that it comments’ the storm has wreaked havoc in my area with a lots of tree and fence damage

DaffodilDandilion · 18/02/2022 13:25

Another one who spoke to soon…. NW wind has picked up and school is now shut.

Onairjunkie · 18/02/2022 13:25

@BearOfEasttown instead of mocking people for having a bad time of it, perhaps be grateful you’re not being badly hit. Hmm

And to the poster who said ‘is that it then?’, you sound very foolish. This isn’t a rollercoaster. It’s a fuck-off storm and some of us, our homes and our livelihoods are being badly affected.

We’ve got walls and fences down and unsecured animals. We’ve since lost part of a side of the cow barn (warped sheet metal flying around. Genuinely terrifying. Very glad I didn’t bring them in. Jesus.) and it’s still building here. There are trees gone too and I think they’re blocking lanes but we can’t get out to move them yet.

It was sort of exhilarating earlier. Really not fun anymore.

AngelicInnocent · 18/02/2022 13:25

South Yorkshire. We have lashing rain one minute and sunshine the next.

Google forecast says the winds here are about 30mph at the minute peaking at 40mph later thankfully. Seems about right.

BBC forecast on the other hand says its currently about 58mph, peaking later around 75mph. Its definitely not that windy at the minute so I'm banking on Google being right.

Bettyboopawoop · 18/02/2022 13:26

We are in Blackpool it is very wet and windy.
