Storm in a tea cup more like! Tiny flurry of snow, sleet. That's it. What a fuss about nothing.

I would say its right over the top of my house , south Bristol - ripping the roof off!!

Samedaysameshit · 18/02/2022 12:23

@stuntbubbles

SE London. One wheelie bin has blown over, the other two are fine. Saw a plastic carrier bag floating down the street. Incredible scenes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
steppemum · 18/02/2022 12:24

@Bjarnum

The worst hit us an hour ago - near Swindon - doesn't seem anywhere near as powerful as elsewhere. We still have power which is unusual as our power goes out regularly!
I'm Swindon, It has been bad for the last hour, and still getting worse as far as I can see here. It is probably the worst wind we have seen in 10 years living here

Much worse than Wednesday, never thought our tree might come down, but I am watching it and wondering (away from house fortunately)

TheGratefulBread · 18/02/2022 12:24

Our little corner of East Sussex has been quite gusty. The road our village sits just off of, is blocked in a couple of places, due to fallen trees/debris. Thankfully, if we needed to get anywhere in an emergency, we could still get out, just a slightly longer way around. We're staying put unless absolutely necessary though.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 18/02/2022 12:26

Wrong thread??

Probably blown over from the jobs section.

Floralnomad · 18/02/2022 12:27

I’m in Kent and there are several trees down near us , neighbours have lost half of their tree/ playhouse and it seems to be getting stronger .

Onairjunkie · 18/02/2022 12:27

It’s actually starting to get a bit worrying here. Concerned the horses are going to go through the fences or a wall.

Cows back in rotating clump.

Isittimeformynapyet · 18/02/2022 12:27

East Sussex Coast. Large bay tree in huge pot full of earth blown over by massive gust here. Three of us women together unable to pick it up.

Maybe where you are it is. I can see several fence panels down and we have gained some shed roof in our garden. Neighbours trampoline ended up in the school playground.
BearOfEasttown · 18/02/2022 12:28

Midlands.

Nothing here really. Just a bit windy (20-25 mph,) with a bit of drizzle. No snow, a little hail. Been sunny 80% of the time since yesterday morning. No trees down or fences down or anything...

Guess we must have been in the eye of it. Just been told on local radio that the worst has passed here now.

If anything, the storm a few days ago (Dudley,) was a bit more fierce. Had a few trees down in the country lanes, and someone's fence came down, and the wind was about 40mph. Still nothing like what they predicted though.

Gusts of 122mph have been recorded.
Unsure33 · 18/02/2022 12:28

Oxfordshire . Power out . Trees down . M40 closed . Lorry overturned locally .

FedUpOfLighteningCrotch · 18/02/2022 12:29

We’re moving house today and our sofa doesn’t fit in our temporary rent accommodation.. so a friend who has a farm offered to let us keep it in one of their sheds so it can stay dry and clean until our new house is built. So off we went to store our sofa..

Storm Eunice has done us dirty.

Where is this storm then?
Darbs76 · 18/02/2022 12:29

It’s getting a lot worse now in Surrey

LOL. It does feel like it has been wildly over exaggerated doesn't it?

BearOfEasttown · 18/02/2022 12:30

I mean, a FEW places had it bad, but most of the UK seems to have just has a bit of a breeze, and a bit of rain.

Uh, I think that's hugely location dependent - it's really bad in some places.
pigsDOfly · 18/02/2022 12:30

I'm in East Sussex the storm has only really begun to hit us over the last hour or so.

The Met Office weather warning has been upped to red now.

Pretty gusty here and my house is surrounded by some extremely tall trees. Just hope they stay put.

Enko · 18/02/2022 12:30

I've just pulled inside 24 bins and a fence panel at work to ensure our residents are safe. I had to retrieve 2 bins from the road

I am in Kent and its not nice here

loopycurtains · 18/02/2022 12:31

Big Jet TV... just took a look and saw a massive A380 from Qatar have to abort its second landing attempt. Those poor passengers must be terrified!

Mrsmadevans · 18/02/2022 12:32

In Monmouthshire it's not been too bad here tbh

toomuchlaundry · 18/02/2022 12:33

I wish it had been a storm in a teacup. We’ve lost most of our fencing and part of our roof. Trees are down everywhere, so we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere even if we wanted to. Many places around us have no power. And we have had it lightly compared to other areas
