We have a sun lounger in our driveway. It’s not our sun lounger. And we don’t have neighbours. 😧

tillytoodles1 · 18/02/2022 12:11

Wet and very windy here in North Wales.

Silversprinkles · 18/02/2022 12:11

@Marylou62 I can't imagine how scary that must have been, well done on keeping all those precious little souls alive!

NettleTea · 18/02/2022 12:11

SE just inland from hastings, about 6 miles. pretty blustery

Booklover3 · 18/02/2022 12:11

Actually I’ll amend that as I went outside to see my plastic roofing’s fucked. Perhaps a bit more than the odd gust in Northants

mbosnz · 18/02/2022 12:12

Definitely here, and erm, kicking up a storm! Trees down, fences down. . . Reading area.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 18/02/2022 12:12

London borough here and the winds really picked up, we're due the worst winds at around 4-5 so I'm hoping the trampoline holds! And everything else!

😂 but also 😧
ClariceQuiff · 18/02/2022 12:13

That's funny, I'm in Huddersfield, and we had hail for about 2 mins earlier, and some on/off rain since, but nothing more. Sunny intervals now and then with the odd shower

I'm near you - it's raining but not much wind at all. We must be in some kind of 'pocket' because it seems to be gales everywhere else.

Elliania · 18/02/2022 12:13

@TheYearOfSmallThings

It's pretty windy now in East London, but not enough to blow bins over.

I was just on the phone to a friend in Chingford and two panels of their fence blew past her as we were talking!

Eek that's where my parents live! Spoke to them earlier and they've done what they can to secure the stuff in the garden but there's a lot of trees near them so they were concerned about the garage getting hit.

I'm in London, warily keeping an eye on the trampoline 2 doors down which doesn't seem to be tethered or anything!

Wet and very windy here in North Wales.

I’m in north wakes and there’s no sign of any bad weather where I am! All the schools are closed and nhs cancelling appointments and I’m wondering where the bad weather is! Maybe it hasn’t hit yet.

Brilliant!

Sorry, but Grin

Noluthando · 18/02/2022 12:15

North Manchester , rainy moderate to heavy and not particularly windy

AssemblySquare · 18/02/2022 12:15

V windy in my bit of Northants. Trying to finish an assignment for my MA that needs to be emailed today… really don’t want a power cut!!

T00Ts · 18/02/2022 12:15

I’ve had to go and grab it @ChazzaGirl it was blowing around like it was paper. It’s quite a smart rattan one! I wonder where the bloody hell it’s come from.

HazelBite · 18/02/2022 12:16

Hertfordshire here I've just watched a crow being blown away, I am 70 and I don't ever remember experiencing such powerful wind in the S.E since 1987

Yellownightmare · 18/02/2022 12:17

Pretty big tree down in local area, blocking road. Next door but one shed now next door having brought down fence panels and other side next door's front garden fence down. South West London/suburbs. All the windows are creaking and small trees down and no one at all has the right bin!

stuntbubbles · 18/02/2022 12:17

SE London. One wheelie bin has blown over, the other two are fine. Saw a plastic carrier bag floating down the street. Incredible scenes.

Witchinthedales · 18/02/2022 12:17

Rural North East dales here, it's strangely calm with a bit of snow that has already turned to slush, apparently it's going to hit us properly late this afternoon.

SpaghettiArmsMurderer · 18/02/2022 12:17

Trees all still ok on my street but neighbour’s pampas grass has been totally destroyed

NeverDropYourMooncup · 18/02/2022 12:20

The sunshine is lovely.

However, there's a garage roof in pieces next door, the wheelie bins seem to be mounting a massed assault on the corner and DP has just manhandled a fully laden commercial biffa bin out of the middle of the main road where it was blown from about 300 yards away into traffic.

I've told him that if he wants to be a superhero today, I'll sew him a cape, but he can only wear it indoors as he's not going anywhere near the flyover.

Just done the quickest dog walk ever. Left the house, breezy but sunny. Within 5 mins blowing a gale and pissing it down. Dog led me home

PenStation · 18/02/2022 12:21

If you're in a hilly / coastal county, the effects are going to vary massively. Friend who lives on a high up says it isn't much windier than usual. Down in the valley six miles away it has damaged roofing and roads are closed because trees are down.
