The worst hit us an hour ago - near Swindon - doesn't seem anywhere near as powerful as elsewhere. We still have power which is unusual as our power goes out regularly!

Windstartingup · 18/02/2022 11:59

ClaudineClare

Ridiculous statement. It's horrendous in other parts of the UK you know.

Inastatus · 18/02/2022 11:59

100k now watching Big Jet tv! Never heard of it until today. He can definitely thank MN for his viewing figures!

DaffodilDandilion · 18/02/2022 11:59

I’m in NW England. Amber weather warning and according to the BBC we should currently be experiencing 60mph winds and yet the sky is blue and the air is still.

Sux2Buthen · 18/02/2022 12:00

Northants here too. It's very windy to be fair

Uttoxerly · 18/02/2022 12:00

West Midlands near Dudley. Moderate winds and heavy rain, doesn’t seem to be getting much worse! Been out all morning and only just back. It’s a bit wet outside but nothing dramatic yet.

LazyDaisy22 · 18/02/2022 12:00

East Sussex - very gusty! All buses cancelled til 2pm. Post office cancelled all deliveries and collections. Library and council office shut. Fence panel luckily still standing.

NotMyselfWithoutCoffee · 18/02/2022 12:01

Very gusty here in South Wales (on the coast).
Have to say though so far it's bark is worse than its bite.. Although my sister who lives in Swansea says her fence and Internet are down lol.

Onairjunkie · 18/02/2022 12:02

@steppemum

Onairjunkie

your cows posts are making me laugh.
Interesting fact for you. When the penguins huddle at the south pole, The ones in the middle move out to the edge because they get too hot!

I shall keep them coming for you. One cow has actually broken away from the herd. Shock not sure if it’s a cow tiff or an overheated cow.

I’m standing at the window swinging between watching the hills and watching the planes land on tv. It’s amazing what becomes entertainment when options are limited.

TeeBee · 18/02/2022 12:02

Absolutely nuts on the South East coast! My trees won't last the afternoon.

ukborn · 18/02/2022 12:03

I'm redoing garden and the guy's boss told him not to come but frankly the other day was worse weather wise - rained all day. Now it's windy to be sure but the sun is out (London). Walking the dogs earlier was no issue but it has picked up since. My son's driving lesson was cancelled so he's now gone to the gym on his bicycle!

Chestofdraws · 18/02/2022 12:03

Power cut here and branches everywhere, south east

WhyPaulMemory · 18/02/2022 12:04

Very windy here! Already had a tree down in my garden and our back fence has collapsed. Hope that's the worst of it. In south London.

ladygindiva · 18/02/2022 12:04

I'm in Cornwall. North Coast. Fence blown over and electricity off all morning until about 2 minutes ago.

RuthW · 18/02/2022 12:05

Slightly windy in Northants

Lollipop858 · 18/02/2022 12:05

NW London here. Trees blowing down everywhere, wind is awful, debris flying all over

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2022 12:06

I'd like to know where my shed roof is - because it's not longer on my shed 🤣🤣

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/02/2022 12:06

Great fence panel gone, big gust of wind.

thegreylady · 18/02/2022 12:07

Nothing untoward after all my fussing. A bit windy but no gales or rain.

DartmoorChef · 18/02/2022 12:07

Dartmoor here. Think it's just starting to calm down. The last hour has been scary . My fence has come down and the neighbours have all lost loads of roof tiles . Too scared to go out and look at mine.

DustyMaiden · 18/02/2022 12:07

Essex, neighbour who saw fit to ignore warnings has a gazebo flying off to Kansas.

olympicji · 18/02/2022 12:08

In suffolk, it's starting to really pick up now

louderthan · 18/02/2022 12:09

South east here. Crazy windy. Work site closed down (campus uni).

endofthelinefinally · 18/02/2022 12:10

Local restaurant left big (empty) oil cans out on the pavement last night and they have blown all over the road and damaged people's cars. Honestly, there is no excuse for it.

daisypond · 18/02/2022 12:10

Windy now. Sw London. My climbing rose has fallen down.
