Definitely picking up in Kent! We’ve got fence panels flapping about all over the place. DH keeps going out to try and secure stuff and is getting shirty because I’m not. I’m not going out in it, if stuff breaks it breaks and we’ll fix it later. I’m trying to work! 🙄

raspberryjamchicken · 18/02/2022 11:41

Fence panel just snapped in two in our garden here in Essex.

Abracadabra12345 · 18/02/2022 11:41

Essex here and very windy. Bins over, rotary washing line on ground, trees are wild! At least it’s not raining anymore

Sparkletastic · 18/02/2022 11:43

Mad on the East / West Sussex border. Sunshine and still one minute then goes dark and wind battering the house the next.

Onairjunkie · 18/02/2022 11:45

@CaveMum

65k people watching the Big Jet TV link right now - most of them Mners I'm sure!
I thought that too! 😆

Cows still in cow clump. Seem to be rotating as though in a vortex. Not sure if it’s intentional.

Horses freaking out. I’m worried about them but know they’re better out than in.

Sheep largely unaffected.

One tree down. Daffodils all down. Bins gone.

Addicted to Big Jet TV.

ClaudineClare · 18/02/2022 11:45

@DetailMouse

We've just had 30 mins of something quite scary, making the house shake, but it's much calmer again now.
A huge gust made the house shake for a second just now. Scary.
vodkaredbullgirl · 18/02/2022 11:46

Just had to fix the side of my shed, panel came off. Dogs were outside and wouldn't come in, until a gust of wind blew them.

LibrariesGiveUsPower · 18/02/2022 11:46

South Walesvery windy now, can see lots of fences down

HomeHomeInTheRange · 18/02/2022 11:46

Neighbours fence panels have just crushed all my new plants Sad

Malibuismysecrethome · 18/02/2022 11:47

It’s as bad as the storm in ‘88 here.

Clairems87 · 18/02/2022 11:48

Nice to see fellow Northants person! It’s blustery but waiting for it to get really bad...sorry about the damage though x

MistyGreenAndBlue · 18/02/2022 11:50

Well the BBC are insisting its 68mph winds here. Funny that as there is barely a breeze. Been calm all day so far. But they never get it right in my area. (Stoke)

the80sweregreat · 18/02/2022 11:51

Had to go out and put some rubbish in the bin that was flying about everywhere.
The wind is bad , but the buses are still running and people out walking or even running about around in it
Roads seem a bit quieter , but many are still working from home around here.

Senderandme · 18/02/2022 11:51

So it’s going a bit crazy in Swansea now. Once fence panel down and I imagine more on the way 😤

SecretKeeper1 · 18/02/2022 11:51

@Malibuismysecrethome

It’s as bad as the storm in ‘88 here.
Where? (Presumably not Malibu!)
SoupDragon · 18/02/2022 11:52

I've just watched a plane abort a landing on that link and I feel physically sick.

Ginisatonic · 18/02/2022 11:53

Dorset/Hampshire borders and it’s quite bad here. One fence panel down and our guttering is making a hell of a noise. Some trees down locally too. Sun keeps popping out and it goes quiet - then it starts again.

MrsGasManridesagain · 18/02/2022 11:53

I'm in Berkshire and it feels like the worst is over, but I know nothing haha!

Silversprinkles · 18/02/2022 11:53

I imagine the met office are feeling slightly sheepish today

Stupid post of the Day award goes to ....

Mollysocks · 18/02/2022 11:55

I spoke too soon.

Dorset here (sounds like Eurovision, Dorset calling!) 😂

Fencing has come loose from the post and the only thing holding it up is the bush. Neighbours’ neighbours fence has snapped.

My neighbour just went running down the street after his bin lid and the wind is rumbling all around the house.

steppemum · 18/02/2022 11:56

Onairjunkie

your cows posts are making me laugh.
Interesting fact for you. When the penguins huddle at the south pole, The ones in the middle move out to the edge because they get too hot!

Brightandyoung · 18/02/2022 11:57

I live in a very windy spot and it’s quite bad but not really much worse than it was on Wednesday to be honest, or at the start of Feb. I do think they’ve slightly over-egged it.

Brightandyoung · 18/02/2022 11:57

(South-West)

ChazzaGirl · 18/02/2022 11:58

East Midlands.

It’s really picking up here now. I’m putting everything back on charge now, whilst I can!

Booklover3 · 18/02/2022 11:58

In Northants too. We keep getting the odd big gust
