@ForTheLoveOfSleep my sons just said I'll be trainspotting next.

SeenYourArse · 18/02/2022 11:26

Fylde coast in the North West… mostly calm here but fairly dark with heavy rain showers but nowhere near as bad as Wednesday yet! It’s half term here so school shut anyway but my eldest has gone to rugby camp at our local rugby club as planned.it’s ran by professional rugby players from the club…il only be concerned if they phone to collect them early 😂 they are made of tough stuff!

Edge of NE London close to Essex border. Wind getting quite alarming now. Just popped into Epping Forest (end of my road) to take dog for a wee and loads of small branches coming down and saw one large, solid, middle-aged oak's trunk swaying in the wind, which doesn't usually happen. Glad to get back indoors unscathed.

Oh my god, Big Jet TV...
So glad I'm not on a plane!

Marmelace · 18/02/2022 11:28

Neo yey

fromdownwest · 18/02/2022 11:28

West Wales - exposed area, windy, but nothing un usual.

SocksAndTheCity · 18/02/2022 11:29

Central London (City) here and it's gone from a bit blowy an hour ago to window-rattling now.

I'm going to chance a dash over to the gym and back and then I'll be sitting tight for the rest of the day, I think (managed to get a grocery delivery slot, so that's one less thing to do).

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 11:29

So glad the Big Jet TV link is keeping you all entertained! Come over and discuss it on the Flightradar thread, a new one has just been started as the first one is almost full!

Crikey has v suddenly got really bad here.

Samcro · 18/02/2022 11:30

blooming gusty here in brighton

Hollyhobbi · 18/02/2022 11:31

I'm in Dublin city centre and the gusts are fierce. Nearly been lifted off my feet! Worst wind I can ever remember in Dublin. And our orange warning has been downgraded to yellow. Don't underestimate this storm and stay safe.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 18/02/2022 11:31

It's pretty windy now in East London, but not enough to blow bins over.

I was just on the phone to a friend in Chingford and two panels of their fence blew past her as we were talking!

CaveMum · 18/02/2022 11:32

I thought that!!!

I've never heard of it but I'm hooked!

bigyellowTpot · 18/02/2022 11:32

up north here, we had a bit of hailstones at 9 am then the sun came out! it's raining at the moment but no strong winds. Nothing unusual at the moment. The media do over hype everything.

DetailMouse · 18/02/2022 11:32

We've just had 30 mins of something quite scary, making the house shake, but it's much calmer again now.

One of my bins has been blown over in East London. Getting very windy at times now.

rambleonplease · 18/02/2022 11:33

Pretty gusty here in SW London now. Cancelled our plans today. Think it's going to get worse here.

MrsBlaue · 18/02/2022 11:34

Different part of the country, it’s sunny and and the sea is a bit more agitated than usually. Everything shut. I’m thinking we will go out at lunchtime just to be out and then have dinner out to keep sane.

SpaghettiArmsMurderer · 18/02/2022 11:34

The big jet link has also been posted on the guardian live blog

Um, it is really bad in some parts. The predictions did not say the whole UK would be strongly affected.
fairylightsandwaxmelts · 18/02/2022 11:37

It's sunny here but the wind is definitely picking up and there's an ominous dark cloud on the way.

Newyearnewme2022 · 18/02/2022 11:39

South east coast here and we are having some big gusts at the moment, I’ve seen dog walkers going past my house on their way to the beach. Madness.

BackwardsPrawn · 18/02/2022 11:40

Also a new addict to Big Jet TV here. Much respect for the pilots today - who are really earning their salaries, carefully navigating big planes through the storm.

daisybrown37 · 18/02/2022 11:40

West London - really windy. Fence panel down between us and next door (belongs to them not us fortunately). Can see more fences down in other gardens.

Unwisely stepped outside to check our garden and the wind was so noisy.
