@SecretKeeper1

I'm in Huddersfield, school run was very rainy, snowy and we went through a big hail storm. It's been raining a lot and it's grey out but otherwise it seems to have blown over for now!

I hope you southerners are doing ok! I have a lot of family down the coast and near London ....

VanGoghsDog · 18/02/2022 11:09

I'm really hoping my fence comes down, as it needs replacing anyway and the neighbours won't let me do it as they have plants growing up their side and they won't let me or anyone into their garden to repair or replace it. I hope it blows away and takes their roses with it! Then I can get a nice neat new one.

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2022 11:10

Now also watching big jet.

Ds and I were originally meant to be flying to Aberdeen this evening - not sure we have made it even if we'd been able to sort out going!

MaudieandMe · 18/02/2022 11:11

It was very very windy here on the south west coast of Ireland from about 3am to 8am but it’s dropped a bit now but still pretty windy.

I think it will hit most of the U.K. this afternoon.

JamDodger · 18/02/2022 11:11

The storm landed on the south coast about an hour ago, now it's all sunshine and ferocious wind.

Bowlofhotslop · 18/02/2022 11:13

Far north of England, yellow warning area, absolutely still with no hint of a breeze. Had one five minute hail shower this morning and now blue sky with fluffy white clouds.

HufflepuffPride · 18/02/2022 11:14

Starting to hit us now in N Wales . Dark and absolutely pissing down with rain.

daisypond · 18/02/2022 11:16

Definitely windy now. Sw London.

That's funny, I'm in Huddersfield, and we had hail for about 2 mins earlier, and some on/off rain since, but nothing more.
Sunny intervals now and then with the odd shower.

Elliania · 18/02/2022 11:17

Essex here - some really strong gusts earlier and now the wind is picking up to a more sustained gale. Clouds are starting to build up too so I think we're in for it soon. Colleague down in Cornwall has lost power so hope he's OK!

inappropriateraspberry · 18/02/2022 11:18

We've lost a shed roof and the rest of it is collapsing. Only got it end of last summer to turn into a playhouse this spring. 🤦🏻‍♀️
The dry verge that was finished a couple of weeks ago has come off on a gable, so hoping we don't get too much rain coming in.
Fence is hanging on and the other shed is blowing off its base.
Power flickering on and off but hoping the worst is done and it will start to ease up. 🤞🏻

MollyQueenOfSocks · 18/02/2022 11:19

@cavemum There goes my day. Haven't stopped watching! Those pilots have some serious skill.

HJL44 · 18/02/2022 11:20

Southwest. Pretty wild. Three fence panels down Sad, and next doors trampoline looking like it will be in someone else's garden shortly.

Coughee · 18/02/2022 11:21

Pretty wild here in South Wales. Had to retrieve the trampoline from next doors garden despite weighing it down with concrete blocks, there's tree branches all over our garden, next village along their power is out and a friend has just posted a picture on insta of the entire length of her new fence completely flattened. We keep getting weird quiet spells where the sun comes out and then it all kicks off again!

Dammitthisisshit · 18/02/2022 11:21

In East Hampshire and power is out. The cats are sheltering on the bed. They assure me it’s far too windy to go outside.

BunsyGirl · 18/02/2022 11:21

Getting worse in North West Essex. Blue sky is disappearing and wind getting stronger. I admit to being a little scared. A large tree branch hit my car several years ago so I am terrified of falling trees now.

Moglie · 18/02/2022 11:21

Nor Edinburgh and it is not snowing, not hailing, not sleeting not even raining with any effort. Breezy but not very windy. Wed and yesterday were worse.

Hope everyone further south and in Wales are ok. 🤞

Penners99 · 18/02/2022 11:23

East Yorks coast here, calm and sunny. Got washing on the line.

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 18/02/2022 11:23

[quote CaveMum]If you want to see where the wind is and have time to kill then watch Big Jet TV live from Heathrow on YouTube, planes aborting landings due to the wind shear - scary to watch!

It is bin collection day today and the full bins are whizzing along the street...
We have just brought ours back to the most sheltered bit of the garden. I don't think they will be emptied today. Given that the bin men usually just throw them around after emptying it will probably be too dangerous.

Ohdofuckofdear · 18/02/2022 11:25

Berkshire here and all of the schools and colleges are closed, the wind is really loud here, hoping the masses of trees near our house manage to stay standing.

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2022 11:25

Me too 🤣🤣🤣🤣

And the guy commentating is brilliant Grin

CovidCorvid · 18/02/2022 11:25

east coast. blue skies have disappeared and getting darker in last few mins. wind picking up.

EmbarrassedAllOver · 18/02/2022 11:25

In Kent.

Pretty windy. Two bins have fallen over. I'd probably feel ok walking around but wouldn't want to drive.

Not a horrendous storm at all, just a small one I'd say so far.
