I am so bored today, so I was chatting about film recommendations with someone. I love action films, and a few with Ryan Reynolds were mentioned, and he seems to pop up in a load of them just now. AIBU to think Ryan Reynolds is a terrible actor? I can’t stand him, and he acts like he is playing the same character in every film, and his voice is intensely irritating. He ruins every film he’s in, and I don’t know why he annoys me so much, but I just don’t get why he’s so popular. He gives me the ick. Is it just me?

Jagged Little Pill is much older than their relationship but I think later albums were about him

I like him well enough in films, there are certainly worse out there

It was Flavors of Entanglement and it is such a sad angry album!

He’s more than just a bit weird, but I still luv him. 🤣

I agree with you, I think he's a terrible actor even in Deadpool. And he's not even cute which might save him in my eyes but unfortunately not lol

@BoredZelda What about Sean Connery, even kept his Scottish accent as the skipper of a Russian submarine and (other) people still consider him a great actor.

But they frequently use Scottish actors to play the Russian baddies in Hollywood. I do love Sean Connery but he does play himself in every film.

My DS keeps telling me RR is considered to be the handsomest man alive . (Nope his eyes are too small and close ) His face preportions are considered perfect (who knew !)
His picture is on the wall in our local barbers (bearded)

Yeah, but he did apologise for it when he was in his 80s, so, you know, all is forgiven...bygones, apparently.

I'm old enough to have watched the programmes where he said those things so it seems like history to younger people but not me. I guess I'm not very forgiving. I did like him at one point but found his comments vile and then there were the allegations from his exwife.

Not a fan.

My mother worked for a agents in Soho in the 60/70s she said Connery was the biggest arsehole on the books, she couldnt stand him, he was a arrogant rude sod and horrible to the women in the office.

Micheal Cain on the other hand was very down to earth and friendly, but her fave on the books was actually George Lasenby she said he was lovely and always brought gifts for people in the office at birthdays and things.

As for Ryan Reynolds I am sick of the sight of him, sick of hearing his voice, no idea if he can act or not but I am absolutely sick of him being the same character all the damn time.

his presence stopped me watching detective pikachu, instant turn off for me.

Absolutely this. Really don't like him and I think the Instagram persona he has created for himself is so fake. Lots of speculation that he is who Scarlett Johansson is referring to as the partner who was threatened by his success. Blake's career has gone nowhere since marrying him and that seems to suit him. She wanted lots of children and is keen on baking etc. Their plantation wedding was very ill-judged.
