I am so bored today, so I was chatting about film recommendations with someone. I love action films, and a few with Ryan Reynolds were mentioned, and he seems to pop up in a load of them just now. AIBU to think Ryan Reynolds is a terrible actor? I can’t stand him, and he acts like he is playing the same character in every film, and his voice is intensely irritating. He ruins every film he’s in, and I don’t know why he annoys me so much, but I just don’t get why he’s so popular. He gives me the ick. Is it just me?

I love all of his movies!!! Especially The Proposal .. so good :)

I love him but out of the 2 Blake is a much better actor.
She's fantastic in The Shallows.

Plus Red Notice was crap,3 stars that don't take themselves too seriously.
It should have been a hoot bit it was bogged down in waffle and not enough action.

He really does play the exact same character in every film (which I think is more or less just playing himself tbh, so yes he's not a great actor but it appears he doesn't really need to be).

I guess that's a good thing if you like him. I don't really like his style of humour so I just avoid films with him in.

I love Ryan Reynolds...he's in my list 🥰

Acting wise I don't think he's great but I genuinely believe he's one of the good guys. The way he talks about his wife and family is so lovely.

Seeing as we're on to the Chrises, I used to think Chris Pine was another identikit B actor along with Reynolds and all the other 20 actors called Chris. Until I saw him in Hell or High Water where he plays this grizzled and brooding and deeply sexy Texan bank robber. Ooof.

Oh Chris Hemsworth is a terrible actor! Very easy on the eye and seems lovely in interviews, but wooden as a top Grin
Easy on the eye is, erm, understating it a tad, I think. But on the whole I agree with the above. However, he also has a very dry Aussie sense of humour and seems to be able to take the piss out of himself too.

I do love action films and most of the actors in this genre aren't always renowned for their acting skills. But, he is too wet for me. Is there a way of just keeping him for the Rom Coms? I want him banned from anything with explosions in it.

Ryan Reynolds plays Ryan Reynolds in everything he is in. So if you like Ryan Reynolds you will like his films. The one in Netflix with the Rock is ok, but it is the Rock playing himself and Ryan Reynolds playing himself Grin. They both also make sure that their alcohol they are selling is in the film haha. Gal Gadot is good in the film though.

Ryan Reynolds basically plays himself in every film. EXCEPT.. Buried. I loved him in that film and was hugely surprised. I really would recommend it.

I used to read these gossip blogs who said Ryan was actually quite a depressed sort when married to Scarjo and couldn't deal with her out working. He seems happy with Blake who doesn't have much of a career than being stunning
I think when he was married to Scarlett he really resented her success, his own career was going badly at the time. She gave an interview after the divorce saying actors shouldn't marry other actors.

Deadpool really revitalised his career, if that test footage hadn't been leaked he'd be in a way worse position. I think Blake is a better partner for him because her career won't outshine his.

I think he's funny in real life and I love him in Deadpool but don't bother with anything else he's in. I think it's partly that he's not a great actor and partly that he chooses to be in bloody awful films.

I love him! I loved two guys, a girl and a pizza place (later renamed to two guys and a girl, I think).
I watched The Proposal yesterday and yep, still love him.

DP has a total mancrush on Ryan Reynolds. I'm meh about him - much prefer Gosling.

Though he's meh about my girlcrush Vicky McClure so we're even.

I’d be suspicious of anyone keen to get their ‘side‘ of of things out there. There were various things rumoured that didn’t show Scarlett in a good light. There’s a lot more to that relationship and break up.
