To ask you to show me your gorgeous fancy houses?

There was a thread recently asking people to brag about their wonderful kids, it was really sweet!

It got me thinking, what about the homes we love and are super proud of? If you're anything like me your home is your castle and safe haven, and I just KNOW there are people here with ridiculously gorgeous spaces in their homes! (Self confessed house porn addict, love looking online at the new listings locally 🤣)

Soooo show me your fabulous houses, or even just little parts of them you absolutely love, brag about your achievements and hard earned beautiful homes ❤️

Mirror close up. I spotted it, fell in love with it and brought it home

I'm not putting a picture on, but I am really proud of how my DDs bedroom turned out. I just Pink Ground by F&B contrasted with a lovely retro green horse wallpaper. And a lovely bed that cost us an arm and a leg but is so practical. Also one of those fluffy paper lamps from Ikea.

The Pink Ground is a lovely soft pink that looks more like peach on pictures, but because her room is north facing it's not too peachy.

@Itshothothot

Theres no way i would show anyone my house online. I will never put a picture up with house in the background on fb either.

I had a school mum come round once when our kids were really friendly and she never spoke to me again once she had been.

That's disgraceful.

I utterly loathe shallow people. Do not give them the time of day and I have a fake people radar too which comes in handy. Especially in the school playground ..( whole other thread 🤣)

I most definitely do not have a dream home, but I like to look at the ones on Inigo or The Modern House and internally weep.

oh my goodness that just be amazing in the summer, and I spy a really gorgeous house 👀 share moooore...

It's lovely in the spring and fall too, especially when the leaves change color. We're surrounded on three sides by a county nature preserve, so no close neighbors at all.

I don't have a lot of pictures on this laptop, but I found two more that give you a feel for the house. It's built into the side of a hill, so the front is one story and the back (where the deck is) is two stories. It was built on two acres in the 1980s by a builder as a wedding present for his daughter, so there are lots of interesting features in the construction.

I do NOT have a fancy house, I have a small appartment! But one of the things that blew my mind when I moved to Switzerland is that most appartment building have a nuclear bunker in the basement. It was a legal requirement since 1963. So here OP, is a photo of the door to my nuclear bunker Grin
Shock That’s fascinating! How big is it? Was the intention that there would be some kind of warning and then the whole building would shelter? How would they know how long to stay in? So many questions….
ivfbabymomma1 · 16/02/2022 19:03

@Notimeforaname I think it attached? 😆

hammerandtong · 16/02/2022 19:05

Hey! That’s my place too😊

How ridiculous to post pictures of your houses on here.Its all very personal, and not to be displayed on here. I could post a picture of the inside of my shed, as its all very super organised, and with some nice art work on the wall, amongst my shleves, with all my tools on them for all my diy jobs,

No one is forcing you to 🤷🏼‍♀️

I see loads of posts of beautiful houses on Mumsnet, usually on the DIY threads though.

We rent an ordinary house but in a wealthy area. Sometimes I go to collect DD from a school friends house and I’m stood in their mega kitchen internally doing this Shock but outwardly I play it cool. They are just people after all. We are trying to buy at the moment and I try not to think about it too much 😆

SnakeLinguine · 16/02/2022 19:09

@CrackerGal

I'd love someone to have a library with a hidden door to a secret room 🙃
A friend of mine has one, but the secret room is her sons’ den, so usually noisome and full of crisp packets.
Pembertonrd · 16/02/2022 19:11

Our house is old and has thick stone walls.
There's is a wooden seat in the window and you can pull the seat frame off and there's an old sink underneath carved into the stone.

Been there 🤣 we are surrounded on all sides by multimillion pound houses, i think ours is a case of the cheapest house in the nicest area, but hey... least right move lets me dream 🤣

@stuntbubbles

I love how no one is sharing Grin

OK, I can’t crop out ALL the mess, and it’s not ~fancy, but it was bloody hard work to get it from bed bugs, cigarette scent, Artex and a window that leaked every time a cloud went by to this point. And I do love the colour of the fireplace.

::Awaits collective judgement for boasting::

Beautiful! Infinite books and a hand made doll's House. I love it!
MissConductUS · 16/02/2022 19:21

@TheVolturi, you're in luck. Both kids are at uni, so we have two empty bedrooms at the moment.

I'm in New York, so it's a bit of a trip from the UK. And you must like cats.

esloquehay · 16/02/2022 19:22

Don't think anyone on Mumsnet would want to see any shots of my 2 bed housing association flat...

Bromse · 16/02/2022 19:24

No, someone might recognise it & I don't understand why you want to see. However I will however post a picture of one like it in a nearby vicinity:

www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/118644704#/media?channel=RES_BUY&id=media14&ref=photoCollage

That is almost identical to my house from the outside though I have a front wall half way across the end of the drive. Inside it is different and I have a downstairs loo. The back garden is much the same. A very good match.
