Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached a ‘settlement in principle’ in the civil sex claim filed in the US, court documents show

Does this show his guilt? Water down in some way his actions? I’m sure some will say this proves she was only in it for the money. I think she and a lot of underage girls were abused but because of the wealth involved those guilty will never face justice. Can’t understand why I feel sad about this outcome.

She said “it looks real, I think it is”. Which is not the same as “it’s definitely real, I remember it being taken”. I think the photo is a complete red herring anyway. No celebrity would remember every person they had a snap taken with, it proves nothing.

Well, no one knows or will ever know under what circumstances PA and VG met and how they each felt about it except themselves. We can make guesses but that's all. The only thing for sure is that this is never going to go away for either of them, but he certainly comes off much worse even though she has admitted losing the big piece of evidence, the original photo, saying she saw it last in 2015 in packing boxes when she moved to Oz.

The Telegraph reports tonight: "£12 million pay-off is understood to include a £10 million payment for Ms Giuffre and a £2 million payment for her sex trafficking charity"

I wish her luck going forward and hope she'll be left in peace. I doubt it though.

Perhaps you should read more carefully, I haven’t ever defended him. All I have done is state actual, known facts.

If it had gone to trial, a jury would judge how much they believed each person's testimony.
Can anyone really think Andrew is trustworthy? He so obviously lied in the Matliss interview. I do not think a jury would have believed him.

Probably because he thought they could be paid off or manipulated...

It was reported that Giuffre wanted to take everything away from Andrew, and she's certainly achieved that. His position as a working member of the RF, his HRH, his honorary military titles and patronages removed. How long will he have royal protection officers or Royal Lodge Windsor to live in? I expect he will be asked not to use the Duke of York title.

As for paying the damages I would expect in this situation details of how that will be paid was agreed. We know from the Maxwell trial that many people enjoyed Epstein's hospitality and it crossed my mind that in return for their involvement not being discussed at any trial would anyone of them helped Andrew financially?

I wonder why she has gone after PA in particular? There must have been lots of men who she had sex with in this way. I wonder if he did something to humiliate her or something happened we aren’t being told about. Obviously he is very high profile and rich, but she seems to have a particular grudge against him.

Nothing will change whilst the Queen is alive. Whether Charles has the balls to move him out of Royal Lodge when he's monarch, is another matter.
