Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached a ‘settlement in principle’ in the civil sex claim filed in the US, court documents show

Does this show his guilt? Water down in some way his actions? I’m sure some will say this proves she was only in it for the money. I think she and a lot of underage girls were abused but because of the wealth involved those guilty will never face justice. Can’t understand why I feel sad about this outcome.

Perhaps there is personal interest in the plight of sexual abuse survivors. Perhaps it's because they don't need the money.

Maybe PA has been given an advance on his inheritance

The trial might still go ahead, btw - Judge Lewis Kaplan has to sign off on the settlement and it is possible he will throw it out.

There's a lot of money to be made from these cases (as this case shows).

They will definitely earn back their "lost" cut in advertising. Can you make out half a case against a duke, a banker, a socialite? Who are you going to call?

I'm not actually buying that a woman with no case whatsoever requires 12 million to go away.

This. If you really can get a payout of £12 million by accusing an innocent man with no evidence, lots of women would be doing this. I mean I met Prince Andrew once. So where is my £12 million payout?

Someone very rich with something to hide who was afraid it might come out in court? There’s more than one very wealthy American who could be implicated.

The fact someone's bottled it and now the case is not going to court is really odd after all the build up hype .

No it will be his family. They have lots of money and can easily pay out to make this go away. The last thing they would have wanted is Andrew testifying in court.

They pushed and pushed until it threatened to ruin the Queen's jubilee to get maximum payout.

The photo that Hervey is pretending is the real one is a pathetic, transparently chopped about piece of digital manipulation, so I don’t know what she’s trying to prove. In fact Hervey in general has made it her business to victim-blame these girls, calling 15 year olds ‘slags’ and ‘whores’. She excelled herself today on Twitter by attacking Virginia Guiffre’s weight gain and appearance. The woman is lower than a snake’s belly.
