Virginia Guiffre and Andrew settle out of court

1000 replies

Suzanne999 · 15/02/2022 16:15

From Metro
Prince Andrew and Virginia Giuffre have reached a ‘settlement in principle’ in the civil sex claim filed in the US, court documents show

Does this show his guilt? Water down in some way his actions? I’m sure some will say this proves she was only in it for the money. I think she and a lot of underage girls were abused but because of the wealth involved those guilty will never face justice. Can’t understand why I feel sad about this outcome.

@Roussette

Poor Sarah. I'd love to read her memoirs

Poor Sarah my arse.

WE the public are paying for her to Ponce about in a 40 roomed 90 acre Royal Estate writing Mills and Boon novels whilst dressing up in Victorian costumes with velvet and riding hats to flog said books.
All while calling her ex "an honourable man" and "a giant if a man"
She is saying all this because she'd be broke otherwise.

Sorry for her.....no no no.

Yes. Poor Sarah. Living with an ex who's a perv because she has no where to go.
Mogs43 · 15/02/2022 22:55

I still don't understand why they didn't just ask his police protection officers who are supposed to with him 24/7 where he was? I assume they must have done and not liked the answer?

I think VG alleged that there was more than one encounter (3?) so likely different teams? They cant all have forgotten/lost their record sheets etc?

Roussette · 15/02/2022 22:55

@TonTonMacoute

Yes

And the Queen said she was "concerned" about his friendship with JE and with his role as Trade Envoy over 12 years ago

What did she do? Nowt

'Concern' doesn't cut it.

Pathetic

Ikeptgoing · 15/02/2022 22:56

There was either evidence or there wasn't

Money doesn't change that

BreadInCaptivity · 15/02/2022 22:56
@BreadInCaptivity It’s too stupid question to be worth engaging with.
😂

How silly. I might consider a theory that the FBI might have been persuaded to "keep hold" of said photo if it was in PA's interests to keep it hidden as a form of diplomatic relations.

That doesn't stack up when it was PA's legal team who wanted to examine the original.

There's no argument I can fathom (but invite anyone else as well as yourself) as to why the FBI would withhold this in VG's interests.

Can't be bothered to engage is usually a retort used when you can't.

I asked a question in good faith and you insist on being dismissive and evasive 🤦‍♀️

Ikeptgoing · 15/02/2022 22:57

Both have done themselves a disservice and a disservice to victims of abuse and sex trafficking

I have no idea if you're being ironic or you really mean that

Way too late. It all happened over 20 years ago. Who keeps copies of timesheets that long?
Roussette · 15/02/2022 23:05

One PPO asked for his timesheets on pizza gate day and was told they'd been destroyed

Sure, but why just blame the Queen? The whole establishment knew!

Roussette · 15/02/2022 23:07

Oh no, I'm not just blaming the Queen. I was agreeing with who you'd said in your post and just adding the Queen to your list

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 15/02/2022 23:09

I am a bit disappointed, I really hoped she would take it to court. Is that her unable to talk about it again, and what about all the other women?

BoredZelda · 15/02/2022 23:16

It took him four days and a dinner party in his honour to 'cut ties'. Strange that.

But he still did it.

2021mumma · 15/02/2022 23:16

I’m confused- did she have the option to not accept the settlement in order to get justice and get her day in court?

I know 7.5m is a lot of money but I thought she wanted justice first everything that happened to her? Now it’s just a major cover up

flashy44 · 15/02/2022 23:17

@AlDanvers

Settling will not include an admission of guilt. Plenty of settlements are reached, without the accused party actually being guilty.

I, also, very much doubt the Queen is paying his settlement.

That said, I think he knows what he was doing was wrong, even if his actions 'technically' were within the law.

I also imagine, the stories about the original photo being lost hasn't helped her.

No the Queen isnt paying for the settlement ,the tax payers are ,we pay for the Queen
BoredZelda · 15/02/2022 23:18

The dreaded DM mentions 7.5 million. Whether that is to the charity or to VG is not clear

The agreement is confidential. The DM are probably just making things up as usual.

BoredZelda · 15/02/2022 23:19

No the Queen isnt paying for the settlement ,the tax payers are ,we pay for the Queen

Where does it say the money is coming from the Queen?

Perime · 15/02/2022 23:20

We know he met Epstein to break up with him because he says so and there's photos to prove it. That's not to say he didn't meet up with him again afterwards where there were no long lenses - it's not like he's a paragon of virtue.

ClaudineClare · 15/02/2022 23:20

The Telegraph is saying over £12 million!

myrtleWilson · 15/02/2022 23:20

@Molly499

* no abuse took place. She would have been made available for him"

I don't think I've read such a cracking contradiction in terms for a while*

What contradiction? The evening would have included lots of young girls who could have paired up with older men, this has been going on for decades. Both parties had a choice, no laws were broken. She could have walked away, from him, from the party. Instead she stayed and opted for a trophy photo…look I got a prince. It was different then, no just whipping your phone out for a quick picture, getting the phot took effort. If this had been an aristocrat or politician this would have been a non story. She must have known that the royal family could not have had this dragged out in court, this was always about money.

I think they are both despicable.

Christ almighty- PA agrees she was a trafficked abuse victim but you say she's despicable? Absolute disgrace

This.

She jumped all over Harry for breaking rank and not wanting to play second fiddle & stripped him even of his military patronages as punishment yet but Andrew kept his until month ago.

Give enough time and they'll try and rehabilitate him and play this off like nothing happened. Truly appalling hypocrisy.

Royal Lodge doesn’t cost the taxpayer anything.

Smallkeys · 15/02/2022 23:26

I don’t think he will ever be out and about again charles will see to that. Prince A and Fergie have always been up to something questionable and dodgy .

TheKeatingFive · 15/02/2022 23:26

So it funds itself how?
