Me and DP both do it, and ours resolved to different answers today ! I would have got his answer in 3, and he would have got mine in 3 ! Have seen reports of the ‘split site’ problem, in addition my answer was unfairly vague I think, anyone else perplexed this morning ? On a serious note, it’s given us plenty to talk about, though my brain is a bit tired 😁

OP posts:

Mine was agora, I haven’t refreshed the page since the takeover, it just resets on my open tab.

Middleagedfemaleangst · 15/02/2022 12:40

Can someone PM me the Greek work. Have done the NY common word one and dying to know what the other one is.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 15/02/2022 12:41

OK, I don't Wordle but I'm now intrigued.

I'm still going to resist joining in as I still haven't recovered from family who were relentless with Suduko.

Middleagedfemaleangst · 15/02/2022 12:41

Oh just read page 2 I had only read the first page and see this thread is full of spoilers now 😂

JassyRadlett · 15/02/2022 12:41

DH and I had the different versions today, mine has been redirecting for days but his hasn’t at all. It confused the hell out of us.

Linguini · 15/02/2022 12:41

Must have been a glitch in the Wordle-atrix.

ThisIsBanana5 · 15/02/2022 12:42

Yeah, I think this is when it is happening, if you have left the browser open for a few days. My parents thought my sister and I had both gone mad when we said we hadn't heard of the word!
steff13 · 15/02/2022 12:42

I did it early this morning on the shortcut I have on my phone, and just now did it on my computer. Same word, not Greek. Weird.

Piggywaspushed · 15/02/2022 12:43

That explains a Classics teacher's bemusing Tweet this morning then.

BlankTimes · 15/02/2022 12:45

If you go into Settings on Wordle, the top one is Hard Mode, does that give a different word to the standard one if you switch it on?

Freshprincess · 15/02/2022 12:46

@WouldIwasShookspeared

Why would a New York times game have British English spellings? The clues in the name really.
The inventor is Welsh and it was originally on a .co.uk website, so hence the outrage when some American spellings appeared a few weeks ago. It’s only been in NYT for a few days.

No, it just doesn't let you use letters that have been ruled out
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/02/2022 12:48

Anybody else now discovered Worldle?

worldle.teuteuf.fr/

English or French language, I believe. You have six guesses to identify the country shown in outline. After each guess it tells you how near you are to it in km. Right up my street.

itwasntaparty · 15/02/2022 12:49

Some still have access to the original site, NYT changed the word today as it was deemed 'too hard'. According to BBC.

The Americanism annoyed me the other day too. I don't think I'll bother anymore. I can't access the original site anymore.

SamphiretheStickerist · 15/02/2022 12:50

@Donatella

Like someone else said, it's to do with the website you are on. If it still says powerlanguage.co.uk you get the Greek word, if it says nytimes.com you get the easier one. Both are the 'official' one but there is a glitch of some kind
Ah ha! That explains it. I do d wonder why some friends had struggled. Seems I was on the easy site.

I shall rectify that later.

toomuchlaundry · 15/02/2022 12:50

I haven't refreshed my page either, if I do will I lose my winning streak?

Anoisagusaris · 15/02/2022 12:52

It was Agora when I did it. Not a word I’ve heard of but I got it on my 5th attempt, just by trying different combinations.

Postdatedpandemic · 15/02/2022 12:52

No @toomuchlaundry your streak will stay.

Postdatedpandemic · 15/02/2022 12:53

Well, mine did Grin

Postdatedpandemic · 15/02/2022 12:54

If it still says powerlanguage.co.uk you get today's easy word tomorrow Shock

UsernameIsNotAvailableRightNow · 15/02/2022 12:57

Has anyone tried Worldle? My 7 year old son loves it, he gets them right first guess Grin

blameless · 15/02/2022 13:01

Back in my distant youth, I seem to remember politicians and broadcasters with a classical education using the term "in the agora" instead of the more commonsense "on the High Street" when referencing the views of the public.
Perhaps those not recognising the word are just younger than they feel.

AlmaCogansFrockFan · 15/02/2022 13:04

Ah that explains why DS and I had different solutions! I noticed a few days ago that when I type in powerlanguage it changes to nytimes. Rather annoying. Must check with DD which website she was on!

SpiderVersed · 15/02/2022 13:06

Both are the 'official' one but there is a glitch of some kind

It's not glitch, the NYT decided to remove some of the more obscure words from the list of words the original Wordle included.
