Me and DP both do it, and ours resolved to different answers today ! I would have got his answer in 3, and he would have got mine in 3 ! Have seen reports of the ‘split site’ problem, in addition my answer was unfairly vague I think, anyone else perplexed this morning ? On a serious note, it’s given us plenty to talk about, though my brain is a bit tired 😁

Has anyone tried quordle?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/02/2022 12:25

Just got it in 3 Grin.

Not a Greek word for me.

CorrBlimeyGG · 15/02/2022 12:25

Love Quordle! Only problem is, there are practice games, so you can play for hours!

CorrBlimeyGG · 15/02/2022 12:25

Agora doesn't work now (not in dictionary). Aroma still does.

Plumpcious · 15/02/2022 12:26

But it's an American website! Why should it be an English word?

Because the guy who invented it is British and hosted it on a British website (co.uk). He lives in the States so one might expect him to be conscious of the different spellings between British and American English and avoid such words.

Interesting, Nerdle (a maths version) explains in its FAQs why that site uses the word 'maths' (ie English spelling) and 'color' (American spelling). The creators of Nerdle are British, hence 'maths' not 'math' but they've deliberately chosen to use 'color' as a nod to the Americans using the site.

MoltenLasagne · 15/02/2022 12:26

@AlDanvers Thank you for making me feel less crazy thinking that word was Greek.

amusedbush · 15/02/2022 12:27

@Iggly

And now I’ve tried the incognito tab to try again and neither agora or aroma work 😂
I've just done it on incognito and it was still aroma! Shock
Pamparam · 15/02/2022 12:27

This is so strange, I knew both words before someone said it above because for the first time ever I accidentally spoilered myself by looking up past words (I read an article on the guardian about how the words had got harder since the NYT bought it) and had a mind blank about what all the recent words had been. I scrolled down slowly but not slowly enough and saw the Greek word solution. But I thought I’d pretend to do it today anyway in a few goes, was extremely surprised that my word had the G greyed out! And glad I got the challenge anyway. There is no chance I would have got the Greek word so I’d have ruined my streak - win-win! 😂

OutsideVoice · 15/02/2022 12:29

I just used a link provided on page 1, tried the Greek word and it said that it wasn’t in the word list Confused

BearimyJeremy · 15/02/2022 12:30

Given we're doing spoilers now I got Aroma, no greek words and I couldn't access it on powerlanguage at all - automatic redirect to NY Times regardless of what I did!

amusedbush · 15/02/2022 12:30

Yeah, the link seems to redirect to the NY Times version now. I just keep a tab open on my phone all the time and this morning it was the old one (with a black background). Then I hit the refresh button and the page turned white, with a different word as the solution.
campion · 15/02/2022 12:31

@User0610134049

How weird My power language site I had been using redirected me to the nytimes one a couple of days ago.

It’s very unsettling!

Yes I had that the other day too. It didn't have my previous record/streak so I searched around and eventually found it. It's all going a bit odd.

I did get Byrdle in one today. Just boasting but obviously it was a fluke guess!!

CaveMum · 15/02/2022 12:31

Haven't done mine yet today but I did see this Tweet (didn't read replies so as to avoid spoilers!) and thought at least you didn't have this issue: twitter.com/heawood/status/1493530839833104389?s=20&t=bEhxDbzIWipNC9irRVt5rg

Sophie Heawood@heawood·2h10am, sitting on the Eurostar waiting to leave St Pancras. Teenage girl just loudly announced today’s Wordle to her parents. Now they’re making her apologise to the whole carriage.

RockAndRollerskate · 15/02/2022 12:31

My word was different… it begins with C.
I had aroma a few days ago?

Postdatedpandemic · 15/02/2022 12:31

A bit of googling and I have found Wordle's complete word list Shock
No links to that

Six words have been removed from the list
Today's weird word being one of them
The other six can be found here :twitter.com/Pyzlnar/status/1493475607451246592

RockAndRollerskate · 15/02/2022 12:32

Oh god ignore my baby brain. I’ve got my days confused… it was Aroma !

Postdatedpandemic · 15/02/2022 12:32

Is the date on your computer / phone correct?
Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/02/2022 12:33

Byrdle in 3 today too - easier than usual Smile

HenriettaTriceratops · 15/02/2022 12:34

That's so irritating, it wouldn't let me put in agora. I'd have got it in 3 if it had. Grrrrr!

SpeckledlyHen · 15/02/2022 12:35

@Blackberrybunnet

not today's word, but fairly p*ed off abut the US spelling the other day
Totally. this perplexed me for hours as all I could think of was american spellings and decided amongst myself that they wouldn't use them. It was only after reading something about it I realised I had been correct in thinking of the US ones all along
Iggly · 15/02/2022 12:35

What’s going on @amusedbush 😂

WouldIwasShookspeared · 15/02/2022 12:36

Why would a New York times game have British English spellings?
The clues in the name really.

Tippexy · 15/02/2022 12:36

The NYT has confirmed it is dumbing down and removing some words… 🙄

NoNotHimTheOtherOne · 15/02/2022 12:38

I find it annoying when the word has the same letter twice. If it goes green then I think I have it in the right place, not realising I might also have it in the wrong place because it appears somewhere else in the word. It happened last week with cynic, too.
Got today's in three because after the first two there didn't seem much else it could be.

Iggly · 15/02/2022 12:39

Ok just solved the incognito one - it was one I had a few days ago 😂
