Phone dropped in the North Sea? Everything 'unfortunately' wiped from devices?

YABU - those things really were totally coincidental that happened just after they were told to hand them in

YANBU yeah ...right...

Prh47bridge it was reported in the press at the time as 'round 1 to Vardy', kind of thing ..... obviously, in a sensational, polarising way. I think those early measures of success mat have encouraged RV to go all the way to court. It was a bad move, in hindsight. Both sides would have looked good by settling out of court and by giving a lot of money to charity.

Louise0701 · 12/05/2022 00:01

@Classica they definitely are. Can also confirm that, much like this thread, absolutely nobody is team RV. She has never really been liked, just tolerated and the recent things coming from this trial have confirmed what people have suspected about her for a long time.

Whatever the outcome of this trial, I think Vardy has lost in the court of public opinion. The "accidentally" lost evidence, the admissions that she has leaked some things to the press that she previously denied and the attempt to throw her agent to the wolves all look bad to anyone paying attention to this case.

Yes, the press tend to sensationalise these things.

Yes, they should have settled out of court. The judge encouraged them to do so. Rooney tried to settle three times, but Vardy refused. If Vardy ends up humiliated by the outcome of this case, it is entirely her own fault.

Hunderland · 12/05/2022 09:17

You would never want your reputation trashed like RV's is now. She was insane for bringing this case, she'll be an absolute pariah in any social circles where people respect integrity.

Whether CR wins or loses this case, RV has lost more - you can always earn more money but you can't win back a decimated reputation.

The court case is beyond tone deaf.
I am lost for words that they can behave with such disregard for the actual problems the world is facing.
If some people are enjoying this mean girls cat fight as light distraction, maybe, but honestly Ukraine could have done with the couple of million squandered and it would have shown a decency to them that has so far been entirely missing.

Swayingpalmtrees · 12/05/2022 09:28

I would say both their reputations have been decimated. In equal measure.

Although the mini chipolata comment made my day Grin

mymindisamuckingfuddle · 12/05/2022 10:14

Honestly Vardy is thick as mince. Whatever the outcome of this case (and I do think she's behind the leaks) she's shown herself to be indiscreet and untrustworthy. Plus an overall horrible person.

She will be a social pariah after this and she deserves to be.

Oblomov22 · 12/05/2022 10:16

And the Peter Andre comments really lowered the tone.

heavyistheheed · 12/05/2022 10:25

The comments berating both the ladies for this being in court, talking about tone deaf and all the other things happening in the world are really beginning to annoy me.

It has been said many, many times.... Rebekah took it to court. Colleen's only choice in this was to pay up a huge amount to her or fight her corner. Unless she was happy forking out hundreds of thousands to RV she HAS to be in court defending herself. Bloody hell!

heavyistheheed · 12/05/2022 10:27

Ukraine could have done with the couple of million squandered

Ukraine wasn't in a full blown war when this all started but CR suggested repeatedly for it all to be dropped and large donations made to charity. RV didn't want this, she wanted her day in court. Well more fool her.

Swayingpalmtrees · 12/05/2022 10:58

They are two very bored women with too much time on their hands to have the energy to care this much over such a small insignificant drama. It could have been sorted out in no time at all over a coffee, like most adults do. Having 'secrets' 'leaking secrets' is what seven year old children do not grown adults.

They are an embarrassment to themselves, their children and extended families.

Who cares about the 'secrets'? Nobody CR
Who cares about 'leaking secrets'? Nobody RV

Get over yourselves, and get down to the food bank and do something good for the world rather than mass producing fodder for the media and showing everyone how not to behave.

I think a lot of people would care if they found that their personal information, that they were sharing only with people they thought they could trust, was being leaked to the press. And the press clearly think that people want to know these "secrets" or they wouldn't print them.

And to say yet again, the fact this is in court is entirely down to Vardy. Rooney has offered to settle out of court three times. Vardy rejected the offers. If Rooney does not defend the case, she loses automatically. Vardy could have put a stop to this at any time. Rooney cannot.

CR tried to settle out of court. What else do you think that she should have done?

Beefcurtains79 · 12/05/2022 14:05

There is nothing more Coleen could do, posters are just commenting when they apparently don’t even understand the case.

thebellagio · 12/05/2022 14:17

In a way it's almost irrelevant whether Vardy wins or not - she's coming out as the complete loser in all of this. She's shown herself to be an utterly horrible woman prepared to throw anyone and everyone under a bus.

Colleen had the right to defend herself against someone who was selling stories about her. Since then, she's not actually said anything has she? I've always thought she's a very nice lady, who just wants to be away from the limelight and be with her family.

What's the bet that Jamie Vardy files for bankruptcy within the next 10 years? Lets face it, he hasn't got the earning power to carve out a lucrative media or coaching career once he retires. And RV has literally destroyed any potential media work she would ever get.

Beefcurtains79 · 12/05/2022 14:55

And now it transpires Rebecca was going to use the anniversary of Coleens dead little sister as an ‘in’ to contact her.
She is utterly contemptible.

sjxoxo · 12/05/2022 18:00

For anyone who wants more info the guardian “today in focus’ have a rolling podcast series covering the case!

What was the Peter Andre comment? In what context was it said?

Vardy compared his manhood to a chipolata in a kiss and tell interview she gave to the News of the World in 2004. She has told the court in this case that she regretted making that comment.

JacquelineCarlyle · 13/05/2022 00:19

Wow - that's crazy. I didn't know her and PA were ever together!

Princessoftheuniverse · 13/05/2022 00:53

I can’t remember what she did on Celebrity. Who did she bully and how? Could someone remind me please.

Princessoftheuniverse · 13/05/2022 00:53

I can’t remember what she did on Celebrity. Who did she bully and how? Could someone remind me please.

Iain Lee was allegedly bullied by Vardy, Dennis Wise, Amir Khan and Jamie Lomas. I didn't watch it, but apparently they ganged up on him over his failures on tasks and at least three of them were caught on camera celebrating when he was voted out. He initially said he wasn't bullied. However, after seeing comments made behind his back and comments made by camp mates when they left, he changed his mind a little. He tweeted that, "I still suggest the word bullying is too strong. But…"

JacquelineCarlyle · 13/05/2022 20:14

She was generally a mean girl although I don't think Ian Lee was in any way bullied but did try to portray himself as a victim. I remember him eating the treat and convincing Amir to lie about it and then acting the victim when the truth came out.
