Just that really, what words appear in the tabloid press but are never used by people in everyday life.

'Kate recycled a simple jacket', ie she's worn it two or three times. I recycle my coats, I realised today that one of my coats was bought with Christmas money from my MIL and she died in 1999, that's recycling!

The Sundays used to use the euphemism 'intimacy took place'.

It usually accompanied a 'soccer love rat' story!

Or in Private Eye speak they enjoyed Ugandan relations, never understood the origins of that euphanism.

Holly Willoughby was SLAMMED recently by fans who said the necklace she was selling on her website cost far too much. ( 'Fans' meaning the Daily Mail)

Some MP refused to deny the latest accusation. In other words he walked past a reporter across the street who shouted a question at him.

“Steps out” as in, some one went out somewhere
“Flaunted, shows off or showcased” bikini body/ new hairdo/ “toned pins” as in someone went to the beach/ left the house after a visit to the hairdresser/ wore a dress or skirt
