David Beckham reveals wife Victoria has eaten the same meal every day for 25 years

Apparently Victoria Beckham will only ever eat grilled fish and steamed veg. Every day for 25 years. She says she won’t eat food cooked in oil, butter or sauces, red meat, or dairy.

AIBU to think life is too short to live without butter!

I've read she loves wine so maybe she eats that way so she can enjoy the calories in a nice glass of wine.I know when I low carb ( currently am ) that it helps me to stick to the same sort of meal , salad , broccoli , chicken or fish , I don't need to think about what to eat and that can be quite freeing , but I have had disordered eating so it could be part of that I don't know
I think sharing it on the podcast has kind of left her open to being scrutinised again though, she lives and accepts his ocd yet doesn't talk much about that

Making their body type completely unobtainable to everyday folk

People need to stop trying to obtain her body then. Eat healthily and exercise and you’ll have a good body. If you’re doing that and are overweight/underweight then see a doctor as there may be something underlying.

EveningOverRooftops · 01/02/2022 20:09

I have the same breakfast and lunch every day. Day in day out. It’s the easiest and least stressful way to manage weight and saves on the energy needed to plan, purchase and prepare it all.

Eating the same thing everyday doesn’t mean an eating disorder. It could be for many reasons from time saving to reducing your mental load to only needing no to think of 9 different meals instead of 21.

IcedPurple · 01/02/2022 20:09

@Nomoreusernames1244

I read that someone saw them in a famous higher end steak house in Los Angeles. David had a nice juicy steak. She had a plate of steamed spinach

To be fair that would be me and dh. Because I’m veggie and don’t find steaks “nice” or “juicy” Hmm. The language used around food is so judgemental. Some people like or enjoy spinach, or veg, or have a reason for choosing one dish over another.

Eating disorders are common though.

She's obviously not a vegetarian if she eats fish.

And I'm sure a high end steakhouse in LA could rustle up something a bit more fancy than steamed spinach for their rich celebrity clients.

But yes, maybe a plate of plain steamed spinach is her idea of a slap up meal on a night out with her husband. Takes all sorts.

Yes but that’s not how celebrity culture works when young girls see these celebs on a pedestal

I'm sure I have seen VB tucking into unhealthy food in restaurants, when she has been on camera. Probably for show, but it wasn't steamed fish and veg.
She has quite a dry SOH, I am wondering if DB is teasing about her meals.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/02/2022 20:10

My grandma ate the same thing every single day, from being diagnosed as type 1 diabetic in the late 70's till 6 months before she died in 1997. The doctor told her the kind of things she could eat on a diabetic diet, and she stuck to it! The hospital dietician was gobsmacked!

HarlanPepper · 01/02/2022 20:11

I don't know why it's anyone else's business what she eats.

madisonbridges · 01/02/2022 20:11

This is strange to me because Gordon Ramsey is a good friend and he says she eats like a horse everytime they go out. Steamed fish and veg doesn't sound like typical "eating like a horse" food. And I know she once ordered salad because she complained because there was dressing on it. So DB isn't being completely truthful.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:11

@Boomchikawowwow

Who cares? Maybe she has a bowl of Frosties for breakfast and a Big Mac for lunch, then balances it out by eating fish and veg for dinner every night 🤷‍♀️
This! 👆🏻

Who the fuck cares what she eats! It’s nobody’s business!

Interesting timing this thread is though!

There’s another one on here today about fat women (generally) over 40 being overlooked etc and you can guarantee if anybody on there had said anything comparable with this abs scrutinised what fat people eat generally, all hell would have broken loose!

And There are many differences kinds of vegetables and many different kinds of fish. She could be eating a range of varied meals.

How many people have pasta 5 days a week, or potatoes? Loads!

speakout · 01/02/2022 20:11

Sounds like a nice meal.
The sort of thing I would cook for myself for a treat.
I'm not a fan of heavy sauces and I don't eat much dairy. I never buy butter.

Itsnotdeep · 01/02/2022 20:12

@FabriqueBelgique

I’m in awe and wish I could do it! Cant fault it.
You can't fault it?!

Jeez. It's clear she has an eating disorder. There's nothing admirable about eating the same very low fat, very low calorie, very low carb meal every day for 25 years.

bungaloid · 01/02/2022 20:12

I eat the same sandwich at work 5 days a week. What prize do I win?

Toolsand · 01/02/2022 20:12

It’s possible she has Arfid, but it’s a private matter for her and family (until David blabbed!)

Imissmoominmama · 01/02/2022 20:13

My husband has toast and peanut butter for breakfast every day. I’d be bored with the lack of variety, but it’s what he enjoys.

For the same reason that you're discussing it, I guess.
AllOfUsAreDead · 01/02/2022 20:14

@Tiramysu

She can eat what she likes. Who are you to judge
This. It might be boring to you, but she may just not give a shit about food.

More people should eat like her. Then we wouldn't have so many obese people. Wish I had her self control or lack of caring about food, whichever it is.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:14

That’s not on her!

She doesn’t have to look a certain way to please other people!

Anything else she should or shouldn’t be doing?!

🙄

A580Hojas · 01/02/2022 20:15

"I think it shows how disciplined she is"

I think it shows what it takes to maintain a very thin body. If people don't realise this is what an awful lot of celebrities go through to be acceptably underweight in celeb world then they are fooling themselves.

I have a friend who was an actor on a British soap for a few years. Her life was utterly ruled by her diet, she could never go above a size 8 or people would start to comment. Not in a good way. I've been on holiday with her where she couldn't afford to let up, not even for a week.

Quincythequince · 01/02/2022 20:15

Above comment was to poster who mentioned making her body type unobtainable!

Dear god!

No she shouldn’t have to look a certain way. But do you think she would’ve been picked for the Spice Girls and been so successful if she was overweight?

David obviously thought it was everyone's business.
XingMing · 01/02/2022 20:16

Most people in the developed and developing world have an unhealthy relationship with food in the other direction. As in, they eat too much of the wrong foods.

Youngstreet · 01/02/2022 20:17

What is the difference between being too thin or too fat?

Why is it ok to judge and attack women who are thin and perhaps have an ed but we all have to pretend that ow women are absolutely fine with their high bp, type 2 diabetes, breathlessness, chafed thighs and general disregard for their own health.

If any of the pp’s judging VB have a high bmi, can’t control their emotional eating and have an unhealthy relationship with food then they’re hypocrites imo.

Most of us don’t eat healthily whether it be too much sugar, junk food or excess caffeine, coke or alcohol.

Being a woman is bloody hard whether you’re thin, fat or average.
Let’s acknowledge that VB like many women is affected by societies expectation of women’s looks and cut her some slack.
