This is the point, death by a thousand cuts. The longer he stays, the more little cuts, the more his credibility is destroyed, the more impotent his government becomes. Its a clever strategy, designed to exploit the ego of the man, and the loyalty of his party for maximum damage.

echt · 24/01/2022 20:45

@VelvetChairGirl

Does anyone else think he only joined the Conservatives because the word Party was in the name.
Excellent!! :o
BHX3000 · 24/01/2022 20:45

Have been watching this unravel from outside the UK for a few weeks now... WHY HASN'T THIS MAN BEEN SACKED YET?

If this happened where I live, they'd have been out by the evening. Will this liar of a man ever be held accountable?

Clavinova · 24/01/2022 20:45

Where's Clav?

I have already posted up thread about ITV getting their dates mixed up.

Do you think this Labour MP broke the rules on 10 May 2020? I value your opinion -

[Labour MP Kevan Jones] said he was invited to an outdoor celebration, organised by the community, for Frederick Herron’s 100th in Quaking Houses, County Durham, on May 10.

People were meant to join in from their own property, but bad weather meant the party was brought inside at short notice...

Party of the sensible? Has the definition of sensible changed?

UndertheCedartree · 24/01/2022 20:47

What makes me cross is my little DD has had to have no birthday party 2 years in a row. And here he is having party after party with cake and 'happy birthday' being sung while little children have to miss out. Him and his wife are so incredibly arrogant.

LexMitior · 24/01/2022 20:47

Party of the insensible it seems
lljkk · 24/01/2022 20:47

Snurk Snurk Snurk

anonsattic · 24/01/2022 20:48

the conservatives will always be the party of the sensible

How on EARTH can you conclude this? Serious question. You must be absolutely deluded, or deaf and blind.

There is NOTHING sensible about a government that imposes rules during a pandemic, then breaks them all.

bevelino · 24/01/2022 20:48

I can’t get over how BJ lectured the country about sticking to the rules, saying how sorry he was about all the deceased, then minutes later was off partying. You couldn’t make it up.

ConstanceL · 24/01/2022 20:49

@MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake

Party of the sensible?

Good Lord.

The government is made up of a raggle taggle bunch of losers whose main reason for being there is loyalty to Johnson. That's it. No one of actual talent wants to be seen anywhere near him.

I guess there maybe sensible Tories, I haven’t really looked into it, but the cabinet of inexperienced yes men/women are actually a national embarrassment- they are only in ministerial positions as they would never go against Johnson. Sunak might be an outlier, we’ll have to wait and see..
Cheekypeach · 24/01/2022 20:49

Yes @Clavinova he did break the rules. But was neither PM nor a government rulemaker himself. Nobody is saying Labour is perfect or even good, but surely even you can understand degrees of accountability are greater as you go up the pecking order?

I blame his wife too. A more mature responsible woman would have said no Boris it's against the rules.

ddl1 · 24/01/2022 20:50

You couldn’t make it up.

Oh, he could make anything up.

Mayorquimby2 · 24/01/2022 20:51

He's such a despicable cunt 😂😂😂

Much as I think Carrie is a snake in a maxi dress, she isn’t PM and holds no professional responsibility. Nor did she make the covid rules. Apparently.

@ConstanceL

I think you will find they all left at the last election and are now having a jolly good laugh at the mess he has made.

Alexandra2001 · 24/01/2022 20:52

Marsha The loans scandal is down to Sunak but do we really want a PM attempting to deal with the huge issues of the day who cannot or will not obey the laws he helped set and lectured us on?

I don't care about Cummings or where this information is coming from, what matters is if its true and so far, almost all of it is.

People suffered terribly under these LD's but not Boris, oh no, he was above it all, no need for him to take any notice of the law.

...and before you say, no i don't believe he was particular poorly with CV, he got the treatments me or you would never had got.

LolaLouLou · 24/01/2022 20:52

@Colourmeclear

I bet the covid safe officer at my work feels really stupid now for taking away all the cutlery, tea and coffee, banning all communal food and only allowing one person in the break room to eat at any one time.
I was ultimately responsible for the covid safe measures in my own workplace and I regularly woke up at 4.00 am so anxious and desperately trying to get the balance right. It was such a stressful time .

On a lighter note, who hasn't experienced the massive collective awkwardness when someone brings their partner to work. Why. Just why.

22itsallnew · 24/01/2022 20:53

@DoTheMerengue

I suppose we’re now going to get the usual routine.

It didn’t happen.

It did happen but I wasn’t there.

It did happen and I was there but only for ten minutes and it was somehow within the rules.

PMQs defence for this week?

I was working so hard I didn't even know it was my birthday until Colin the Caterpillar turned up! But I sent him packing in 10minutes so I could get back to the lab, that vaccine was not going to get developed without me!

EileenGC · 24/01/2022 20:53

@ddl1

You couldn’t make it up.

Oh, he could make anything up.

😂😂😂
AutomaticMoon · 24/01/2022 20:53

But even if Johnson finally goes.... all the others still don’t seem any more competent at their jobs...

Blossomtoes · 24/01/2022 20:53

@Viviennemary

Yes, so does he funnily enough. Anyone would think she was the PM.
