Cummings style - death by a thousand cuts. He's probably really enjoying this

PaintYourDreams · 24/01/2022 19:07

If it's true then he should go. But why the constant drip-feeding? And by whom? Why did those drip-feeding not come out and say what they knew at the time? It worries me that the media and anonymous sources seem to be on a campaign to decide whether an elected PM should stay in office or not.

the80sweregreat · 24/01/2022 19:07

Another inquiry ? He only stayed ten minutes, but it was still ' rule breaking ' !!
( plus I don't believe it was only ten minutes!)

sadpapercourtesan · 24/01/2022 19:07

For a man who whinged that the job wasn't well-paid enough for him he seems fairly committed to keeping it Confused. Now the Bertie Booster distraction is starting to wear thin, he's making ridiculously hyperbolic and very unwise comments about Russia invading Ukraine (rivers of blood, etc) to take the focus away from his own turpitude.

He's like a stubborn clart that gets a tiny bit smaller each time you flush, but you know in the end you're going to have to get the toilet brush out Angry

Nosetickle · 24/01/2022 19:08

What I can’t fathom is why this is all only just coming to light now? How did they get away with it when people were being reported and snitched on left right and centre for breaking the rules. How are people in the spotlight getting away with it?

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 24/01/2022 19:10

So his new excuse is that Carrie made him do it and he only stayed 10 minutes. He must be terrible cross with all these people organising parties in his house against his wishes and then forcing him to attend, while disguising their true nature as work events and failing to tell him they were against his rules.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 24/01/2022 19:10

Boris had hopes of being remembered as a Churchill style character

Yeah, a bloody dog humping your leg.

Howdoisawwithnosaw · 24/01/2022 19:11

Non story. Everyone knows that if you only break the law for 10 minutes it doesn’t count. Like the time I stole that huge heap of cash and jewels from the vulnerable elderly man, I was in and out of his house in 10 minutes 🤷‍♀️ 🙄

the80sweregreat · 24/01/2022 19:12

' Carrie made me do it '!!! 😂
.. heard it all now !

Jellykat · 24/01/2022 19:12

I agree MagpiePi the amount of times they spout those words to try to deflect the shite, is nothing short of offensive to the public.. its so bloody obvious they obviously think we're thick as pigshit!!

InAState22 · 24/01/2022 19:12

It just gets worse.

Horrendous man.

Really hope Sue Gray does justice to all the hypocrisy.

neverbeenskiing · 24/01/2022 19:13

He is an embarrassment and he needs to go. But when he does what fresh hell awaits us...Liz Truss? Jeremy Hunt? Priti Patel? Dominic Raab? There is no one in the whole rotten government who is fit to govern.

the80sweregreat · 24/01/2022 19:13

Raabster will come out tomorrow and defend it ' we think we need to wait and see if Sue Gray thinks it was a birthday party or not 'bollocks

CorrBlimeyGG · 24/01/2022 19:14

It worries me that the media and anonymous sources seem to be on a campaign to decide whether an elected PM should stay in office or not.

That's what happens at every general election.

guinnessguzzler · 24/01/2022 19:14

The man's a lying bag of lies.

jadey1991 · 24/01/2022 19:15

We have been lied to the whole time... but he is quick to tell everyone to get vaccinated while he parties. What is a disgraceful human. And we have boris Johnson running our country.

draramallama · 24/01/2022 19:16

Ah. BBC have just posted it too.

It makes no sense at all - if that many people were all involved in these so-called 'parties' alleged to been constantly going on, and police officers / staff etc were presumably all there in the vicinity, why would they all have stayed quiet about it for so long?

I suspect the truth is somewhere in the middle - as in, there were a few breaches here and there - but in order to 'nail it' on Boris and get him out of office, there needs to be a narrative of party after party until enough mud sticks.

Georgyporky · 24/01/2022 19:18

I have never felt such hatred for anyone - he's out-Thatchered Thatcher IMO.

draramallama · 24/01/2022 19:19

Just two hours after the PM stood in silence for key workers who'd died in the pandemic, the Cabinet Room's table was laid out with M&S party food and a birthday cake, reports ITV News UK Editor Paul Brand

www.itv.com/news/2022-01-24/boris-johnson-had-birthday-bash-during-lockdown-itv-news-understands

Comparing this man to a cockroach is grossly unfair to cockroaches.

SickAndTiredAgain · 24/01/2022 19:19

If it's true then he should go.

@PaintYourDreams I believe downing street have confirmed the party took place, that’s where the “he only stayed 10 mins” has come from. They aren’t denying it happened.

Which means when he stood up in parliament and said he knew nothing about any parties (and any he knew about he didn’t think were parties) he was, unsurprisingly, outright lying.
He can’t say he didn’t know about this, and he can’t say he didn’t know it was a party. And I imagine if he’d told them to stop, Downing Street would have already made that crystal clear.

Flowertailbird · 24/01/2022 19:20

Yes!!!!! I'm thinking exactly the same!

*It worries me that the media and anonymous sources seem to be on a campaign to decide whether an elected PM should stay in office or not.

Yes but that's exactly my point. There's a major campaign underway at the moment to get Boris Johnson out of office now. Not at the next election when we all vote on it, but now. Presumably because there is a concern that he will otherwise recover from this and go on to win the next election. If not so, then why all the aggressive campaigning to try and get him out now?

AlexaShutUp · 24/01/2022 19:23

FFS! Enough now.

itspointlessarguing · 24/01/2022 19:24

Considering how much partying they did (and probably still do) it's a wonder any of them were sober to do any work. No doubt all the wine, cheese, wine fridges and other work related work do expenses were claimed back. Grin

I wish this absolute scumbag and his disgusting excuse of a wife would just go already. They have spat in everyone's faces, created the rules and broke them every single time. It brings me so much anger and disgust every time I hear another story about their parties.
