@Puzzledandpissedoff

Doesn't add up for me but maybe you can explain it

I haven't read Sue Gray's report

I've wondered before if you actually are a politician, Clav, but if not maybe you should try it? What with the stonewalling references to the report and the attempt to divert questions by dragging in irrelevancies you could be a minister in no time Wink

@Clavinova

Little different from 6 socially distanced in a garden, wouldn't you say?

Yes - the 6 socially distanced people in a garden could be people who don't normally meet or work together.

You work so tirelessly to defend someone who wouldn't even piss on you if he saw you on fire in the street.

I wonder what it is you fear, exactly?

We are all entitled to express our views, of course, but I do feel for you, for the huge amount of emotional labour you are having to find energy for. You deserve a good rest, he's just a man after all, perhaps prioritise yourself for a while and take a nice break in the countryside Grin

Don't worry about me - I had a nice break in the countryside a few days ago.

Was it Chequers?
Peregrina · 26/01/2022 15:54

I am pretty sure that my Church didn't reopen until September 2020, so it wasn't a case of not singing, it was not meeting at all in person. When we did reopen, we weren't allowed to sing.

skodadoda · 26/01/2022 18:05

@Trilley

Exactly. Given that electing someone with a supposed personality has left us with a corrupt, lazy, incompetent lying oaf, I think we've all had enough of "personality".
Exactly
DGRossetti · 26/01/2022 18:11

Now it seems the Afghan animal rescue (personally authorised by Johnson as a leaked email shows) has flared up again.

We're gonna need a bigger Clav

@Clavinova A squirrel in the garden is now fighting with a rat over a mouldy fermenting apple. I think they are at work, due to the fermentation of the apple it is probably alcoholic.

I've just read the Afghan pet rescue guy is a friend of Carrie's. Ah, it makes sense now. Is she behind everything? Confused

Was he at any of the parties?

Can't be a real friend if he wasn't, even the wallpaper hanger was at the birthday bash.

liveforsummer · 26/01/2022 18:52

Probably too far to travel from Afghanistan for 20 minute non party

Very odd indeed, I agree - although the email relates second/third- hand information.

Ben Wallace has denied being contacted by the prime minister over the case.

He told the BBC the evacuation of Kabul was "run under my authority and carried out by the UK military through the joint chief of operations".

He added: "At no point were he or I directed by the prime minister to evacuate Pen Farthing, his workforce or his pets.

"As I made clear at the time, we were not going to put pets before people and as the actions showed, Pen Farthing left last and his workforce had to leave after the evacuation was concluded via other means."

He said the suggestion that Lord Goldsmith, who he described as a "Defra minister", would have had "any authority or responsibility in the running of the evacuation is ludicrous".

Zac Goldsmith
@ ZacGoldsmith
I did not authorise & do not support anything that would have put animals’ lives ahead of peoples’. My position, which I made clear publicly, was that the UK should prioritise evacuating people. I never discussed the NOWZAD charity or their efforts to evacuate animals with the PM

@OhYouBadBadKitten

Sufficient evidence of criminality was found by Sue Gray to refer this on to the police. She clearly believes that illegal gatherings took place. So I've no idea why Clavinova is trying to cloud the issue, quibbling over petty non details.
Because rehashing and exaggerating news so you can slag of someone you dislike is annoying. This is the picture of the first “party” i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2021/12/20/13/52019575-10328319-image-a-38_1640006237878.jpg

Nothing like a sodding party is it. It’s literally just people clearly who have been /at work enjoying meeting in garden, sitting apart

jgw1 · 26/01/2022 20:15

And yet for some reason one of the men in the picture decided that it was illegal for anyone else to do that.

Roussette · 26/01/2022 20:18

Exactly.

And that was just one gathering/party

There are others!

Alexander Stafford, Tory MP for Rother Valley, said there should be no 'hypocrisy' and that 'all sides need to be investigated'.

He told MPs: 'Those in glass houses should not throw beer bottles.'

Roussette · 26/01/2022 20:37

Oh lordy, are we still banging on about one beer.

One beer versus 17 (or is it 18?) gatherings/parties etc.
Wine fridges
Basement disco
30 in the garden
Buffets
Cake and singing
Wine Time Fridays
Bring your own booze
Suitcases of wine

One beer rather pales into insignificance doesn't it? But let it be investigated, more than happy with that.

I just find it amazing that someone has found a Tory MP who can put their foot in it more than Fabricant.
Roussette · 26/01/2022 20:46

I'm surprised Therese Coffey hasn't done it before to be fair. She loves her karaoke and had drinks and takeaways after work all through lockdowns.

She is conspicuous by her absence!

Aww bless you Clav you're working soooooo hard to find 17 parties!
