DGR

Exactly!

Clav has talked of the song Happy Birthday being banned lol.

Maybe... for he's a Jolly Good Fellow was sung instead?!

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 12:33

Maybe they just hummed the happy birthday tune , you know, in order not to break that one rule.

Clavinova · 26/01/2022 12:33

An MP has just talked about the party and said "communal singing was banned"

Well, I hope those teachers who encouraged the children to sing 'happy birthday' to the PM on his birthday are disciplined.

the80sweregreat · 26/01/2022 12:39

Shocked they put their cake and wine down long enough to actually sing or hum anything.
I bet they are a bunch of gannets around the free food on offer.
Boris Johnson has a vision apparently.
It's sad he couldn't SEE the rules on his own government website before organizing any dos over lockdown.

Roussette · 26/01/2022 12:39

As you well know... we are talking about inside. Like church?
Not outside.
There was more we could do outside at that point.

I'm sure you get that but are just stirring the pot with nonsense.

I'll give you your due Clav, you're persistent. But you are making a bit of a fool of yourself with some of the stuff you're coming out with.

Clavinova · 26/01/2022 12:53

Roussette
But you are making a bit of a fool of yourself with some of the stuff you're coming out with

And yet the Guardian and ITV were not brave enough to report that singing happy birthday inside was "banned" - I would suggest that they are not sure.

@lborgia

Ah, Clavinova, I must be a little confused, maybe because I'm on holiday, one day looks much like the next.

Apologies. Your level of knowledge is phenomenal, and your passion for your work astonishing. My head is spinning with singing and squirrels, washing hands, and birthday cake, I don't know how you do it.

@Clavinova Do you use Ecosia when you search for the links that you like sharing with us?
OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/01/2022 12:56

Sufficient evidence of criminality was found by Sue Gray to refer this on to the police. She clearly believes that illegal gatherings took place. So I've no idea why Clavinova is trying to cloud the issue, quibbling over petty non details.

jgw1 · 26/01/2022 12:58

Maybe if everyone was singing a different song it's not communal ?

If they each started singing a few seconds apart in a different key that was also allowed.

Roussette · 26/01/2022 13:01

And perhaps if they got the words a tad wrong, that wouldn't be communal either?!

Ah good to see Clav starting out with her 2nd favourite subject, 'let's have a go at teachers'.

Lol

No - why?

I don't know which gatherings were reported to the police or what the proportionate response will be for individual gatherings, e.g.

Two junior doctors caught Covid after 22 medics went to event where social distancing and face masks rules were breached, investigation finds.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: 'Surrey Police was notified retrospectively and based on the evidence, the proportionate response has been to warn the individuals in relation to their conduct.

Not forgetting this -
Jeremy Corbyn won’t be fined for breaking ‘rule of six’ at dinner party.

Scotland Yard confirmed the MP will not be fined, saying police will not retrospectively enforce coronavirus laws.

A spokesman said police did not issue fines retrospectively to allow people the chance to listen to and follow advice.

That's a shame, think of all the trees they would have planted by now for squirrels to live in if you had.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/01/2022 13:28

why are you quoting random shit at me that has nothing to do with the government being investigated by the police Clavinova?

I thought Cressida Dick mentioned 'proportionate response' in her statement yesterday?

Roussette · 26/01/2022 13:36

Jeremy Corbyn lolol.... pure desperation!
You may as well talk about John up the road, the builder who had 4 mates round for a BBQ.

@the80sweregreat

The Scots won't vote Labour. I doubt it anyway. Nicola is offering them another referendum and she has handled the pandemic much better than our PM ( I know people won't agree with this, but apart from once forgetting her mask for a few minutes, she did obey the rules , as far as I know )
She hasn't handled the pandemic much better. There was a bigger care homes scandal here. We're sick to death of her and her fucking masks. Yesterday was Burns Night and we usually go to a Burns supper. I fully expect never to go to one ever again. She banned our Hogmanay bonfire. We spent NewYear in England to get away from her petty restrictions. Scotland has become a small minded petty country thanks to her. I never thought I would see the day. And she can shove her referendum up her arse.

Doesn't add up for me but maybe you can explain it

I haven't read Sue Gray's report

I've wondered before if you actually are a politician, Clav, but if not maybe you should try it? What with the stonewalling references to the report and the attempt to divert questions by dragging in irrelevancies you could be a minister in no time Wink
