He's a fat fool with a bored wife who wants a more attractive chap in for a party each week which is what has happened - no fool like an old fool. Not much of a politician, never was, talks a good game but never delivers, leads by running to the front of a crowd, and has ruined his party.

Yes he will leave. But not before he's utterly ruined his own party, which they deserve, because they threw out every standard they had for him. They are still doing it, which is quite delicious.

22itsallnew · 24/01/2022 20:33

It's reminding me of this parody video of Trump when it was all over for him but he just wouldn't accept it

Enough now Johnson. Just go.

Flowertailbird · 24/01/2022 20:38

@JaniieJones

'Are we in lockdown today? I must have missed that.'

Err, no. My point was the definition of party to some on here and in Paul Brand's world seems to be eating and or drinking at work. In which case my dh has attended 4 parties today.

How you are not understanding this is beyond me. Your husband isn't the Prime Minister. Your husband didn't make the rules. Please try to understand why people are so royally fucked off.
Lonelycrab · 24/01/2022 20:40

If the govt release some sort of wishy washy summary of the SG report, that’s not going to cut it. I think it’ll make trust plummet even more.

And the govt can’t release the full report because it will reveal too much. So maybe it is actually over for Johnson now.

ClaudineClare · 24/01/2022 20:41

Flowertailbird just to warn you that you may get told by some posters that the rules were not the PM's rules or some such derailing blather. Best ignore if that happens is my advice.

He should go sooner rather than later. It’s a shame he can’t take his disastrous Brexit with him but we are sadly stuck with that now.

SueSaid · 24/01/2022 20:46

'How you are not understanding this is beyond me. Your husband isn't the Prime Minister. Your husband didn't make the rules'

I know he isn't and he didn't. I'm not trying to suggest otherwise.

My point is the tenuous definition of 'party'. Eating and drinking at work isn't a party. If he had a houseful in his flat of pals yes it's a party and he must resign. If he went into an office for 10mins and they gave him a piece of birthday cake it really isn't a party though, sorry.

SueSaid · 24/01/2022 20:47

'He should go sooner rather than later. It’s a shame he can’t take his disastrous Brexit'

Ah and there we have it. The real reason some want shot of him dressed up as party outrage.

Notonthestairs · 24/01/2022 20:48

JJ you are defining the birthday party by how long Johnson stayed there. Even if he only stayed 10 mins the party went on longer and he knew all about it. It went ahead with his knowledge.

DuncinToffee · 24/01/2022 20:49

No 10 hasn't denied that there was a party or claimed that it was a work event

Oh give over. Brexit’s done, getting rid of Johnson won’t undo it.
Skiptheheartsandflowers · 24/01/2022 20:54

I don't know who is feeding this event by event to the ITV journalists but I am HERE for it. Clearly this won't stop till he goes Grin #aboutbloodytime

LexMitior · 24/01/2022 20:56

Come come, this is a disaster for the Conservative Party - total paralysis is resulting. Effective government is at a stop - its not like Johnson has any power now. He's literally just sitting his own mess.

Roussette · 24/01/2022 20:56

So good old Johnson and his cake eating wife are at it again then. And him saying he popped in for 10 minutes is laughable!
As he has been proven to lie again and again and again, I don't believe a word of it.
What justification is there on this one? Use of the word party?? The interior designer just happened to be putting up wallpaper in the room where the birthday 'event' was held?
The Cabinet Room was the best ambience? That room is for government business and should not be used to break the law.

What a shower we've got in charge.

Notonthestairs · 24/01/2022 20:58

I'll bet he genuinely is furious about the parties now.

Blossomtoes · 24/01/2022 20:59

There must be a lot of people round Whitehall laughing uproariously. I bet Nicholas Soames and Kenneth Clarke are enjoying this immensely.

SueSaid · 24/01/2022 21:00

'Oh give over. Brexit’s done, getting rid of Johnson won’t undo it.'

'Give over'? But Heseltine was in the news days ago saying it could be undone if he was got rid of. An actual former deputy PM. I'd have thought he may know what he was on about tbh.

LexMitior · 24/01/2022 21:02

Yes lots of parties, ironically.
longwayoff · 24/01/2022 21:07

Don't 26 other countries have to agree to 'undo' Brexit? I expect every single one would be thrilled to welcome back the UK. Bet they can't wait.

Quite. Cold day in hell springs to mind.

@JaniieJones do you and your Nasty Party chums really think that people are not going to be outraged that the Prime Minister said that dc could not have their friends round for birthday parties for months and then had cake with friends on his birthday?
LexMitior · 24/01/2022 21:28

They are outraged, of course they are. But actually I think there's a lot of bitterness and sadness which is why Johnson will go - this will follow him around forever, a non serious, non rule abiding, possibly stupid PM or one who is so degenerated not to know the difference. The conservatives who still have brains will know the difference.

Lonelycrab · 24/01/2022 21:46

The conservatives who still have brains will know the difference

But how many of them are left. Not much conserving been done these last few years. Johnson was always riding on the back of Cummings, who’s a smash-it-all-up type guy.

WhenPushComesToShove · 24/01/2022 22:14

PMQs is my new favourite 'show'

I think people want shot of him because he's a lying, unprincipled, self serving bag of shit. Who sold them brexit.
