If there was an election tomorrow, who would you vote for?

Obviously the Tories are a complete shitshow, but Labour aren’t a lot better and I couldn’t hand on heart vote for either in good conscience right now.

So… IF a snap election was called, like in December 2019, who would you vote for? Would it make a difference to you if Boris was replaced as Tory leader? Would you even bother voting or maybe go for a totally different national or local party?

Just curious!

Why ? If you look at excess death rates in Europe we are not the worse . Plus regarding lockdowns he was dammed if he did and damned if he didn’t

We are about 20th worst in Europe for covid deaths per million last time I looked. Covid has been a nightmare for most world leaders really, very few are coming out of this unscathed.

I really don't know. I'm a lifelong Labour voter and feel partyless.

I will likely vote for a smaller party.

I feel you might have missed my point.

MajorCarolDanvers · 12/01/2022 20:36

Almost certainly Labour but would consider Lib Dem or Tory if it would oust the local SNP MP.

Getting rid of the SNP is my primary concern.

PronounssheRa · 12/01/2022 20:37

I would vote Labour if Rosie Duffield was my MP, sadly she isn't and I would spoil my vote

LemonViolet · 12/01/2022 20:38

My constituency is a fairly safe Tory seat, Labour are the only party that have a hope of challenging. I’d seriously quiz the Labour candidate closely to see if she has any understanding of the issues around self-ID. If she’s an unthinking TWAW echo machine then I’d have to spoil my vote.

doyouwantachuffedybadge · 12/01/2022 20:39

Green

IHateCoronavirus · 12/01/2022 20:40

That Social Democratic Party look ok, am I missing something with them? Are they everywhere?

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 12/01/2022 20:41

@Clackyheels

I'm not sure but fact people keep saying, 'Labour aren't a lot better' 'or what's the alternative ' infuriates me. How? How are any other party worse than the one in power right now? I honestly don't understand how anyone can use that to justify voting tory? Surely the answer is 'I don't know but I'm never voting tory again' are people not watching the same stuff as me??
This.
IGotHam · 12/01/2022 20:42

Labour

LidlMiddleLover · 12/01/2022 20:43

Id have to vote conservative despite bojo the rest are just so awful

OverByYer · 12/01/2022 20:43

Id vote Tory if they had someone decent and relatable in charge. Boris and his cronies are only interested in being wealthy and staying wealthy , they have zero interest in ordinary people and are laughing in our faces.

FindingMeno · 12/01/2022 20:46

I said I'd never vote lib dem after they chummed up with the tories.
I said I'd never vote Labour after the campaign against Mr Corbyn.
I'd definitely vote Green if they had a chance.
I've never, and will never vote tory.

I will vote green, red or yellow so long as it gets blue out.

Kendodd · 12/01/2022 20:46

Considering Tory Austerity has been responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and life expectancy that was actually falling in some parts of the country (pre covid) I would never vote for them. They have hollowed out public services, police and justice services cuts and collapsed rape convictions it is a complete lie that the Tories care about women's rights.
Anyway, I would vote for whoever had the best chance of getting to Tories out, part from the obviously racist parties like UKIP.

Stripyhoglets1 · 12/01/2022 20:46

"Tories have been in 11 or 12 years now, Labour had 13 years before that and danced us into a housing crash and economic recession.

Would Boris have fared better if Covid hadn’t come along? I think maybe yes. It’s clear he wanted to be a “good time” prime minister and just lead us through Brexit, waving union jacks and being jolly British."

"If you’re going to blame Labour for a global recession, then you should blame Boris for Covid."

EXACTLY! It was a global recession. Not just the UK. We'd have recovered alot quicker if the tories hadn't done political austerity. If Gordon Brown had won that election life would be alot better now even with covid.

There wasn't a housing crash as interest rates stayed low. There will be one soon though if interest rates go up alot as the house price inflation by the tories in the last 11 years has led to people having massive mortgages which are only affordable as they are paying 2% interest - not the 7%ish it was 20 years ago.

I don't agree with all of labours policies eg. That, but they are a much better option than this lot.

If they win again they will properly go for the NHS.

WakkaWakkaWakka · 12/01/2022 20:47

I’m quite happy with Boris. He’s had a shitty job and all politicians are the same. I’d vote Tory quite happily, Boris or not.

TerraNovaTwo · 12/01/2022 20:47

Not Labour

pinkpanther84 · 12/01/2022 20:49

Labour

ArabellaScott · 12/01/2022 20:50

www.politico.eu/europe-poll-of-polls/united-kingdom/

Labour 38%

Conservatives 34%

WindyState · 12/01/2022 20:51

You really do have to wonder what the fuck the tories have to do to convince some people who fucking awful they are.

ArabellaScott · 12/01/2022 20:53

@WindyState

You really do have to wonder what the fuck the tories have to do to convince some people who fucking awful they are.
They just have to not have any opposition.
TreeLawney · 12/01/2022 20:54

Labour.

We have a good local MP who works hard for our constituency and quite frankly I’d vote for just about anything over the tories.

pussycatunpickingcrossesagain · 12/01/2022 20:57

Difficult.

Not Tory. Never.

Not LibDem, they're too "woke" for me - although they'd not get in here.

I suppose I'd end up voting Labour even though I disagree with a lot nearly all of their old fashioned view of the world and I think they're shit at the mo Keir has been a massive disappointment

I suppose anything's better than fucking Boris.🤷‍♀️

SecretKeeper1 · 12/01/2022 20:58

They just have to not have any opposition.

I agree @ArabellaScott. Labour needs to pull their finger out and make themselves a party worth voting for, and pronto. I’m convinced they’d have won in Dec 2019 if Corbyn hadn’t been at the helm.

@SNUG2022

Lib dems had Aimee Challenor and hate women. Greens called women non-men.
Omg that is so depressing.
