To ask who you would cast in Thursday Murder Club: The Movie?

Would you go for the usual suspects, i.e. anyone from Marigold hotel (and nothing wrong with that) or would you mix it up?

Ooh lovely one.

I can’t help being a bit ‘usual suspects’; I think I’d like Eileen Atkins for Elizabeth and I know it’s against recent type, but I think Judi Dench would play a very enjoyable Joyce.

I need to give Ron and Ibrahim and Donna some serious thought. And Bogdan.

Stephanie Cole for Elizabeth. In my head she is Carolyn from Cabin Pressure. And Roger Allam would make an excellent Douglas for book 2 Grin

Judi Dench definitely Joyce.

Oh, we love a bit of Roger Allam! I think we need him in there somewhere.

I'm giving careful thought to Stephen, loved him a lot.

In my head, Elizabeth is a Helen Mirren-like character.

I like the idea of Penelope Wilton for Joyce.

I'm going to Google all these suggestions though. Agree with Dame Judi for Joyce.

Yes, hard to avoid casting a Grande Dame of some sort as Elizabeth. I reckon Helen Mirren would work.

I have read both books and been thinking about this
My first and very firm thought was Helen Mirren as Elizabeth. I also thought Judi Dench as Joyce but agree Anne Reid or Penelope Wilton would be great too.
Not sure about Douglas but could see Bill Nighy in that role.

I think it'd cost too much to CGI Richard Briers when other actors would be available. Even for Stephen Spielberg. Sad
