Mine starts jobs all over the house and never finishes them.
Tiled my kitchen floor, still not finished, started doing up daughters bedroom, he decided to take over and it's now gone on months.
Started working on the sitting, still not finished. Can't use the room.
Been like this since the summer or longer!!
I'm driven mad with it, fucking mad I tell you!

In the last few days he's started working on the bumper of his work van. Sanding, painting, priming, still not finished. He didn't have to do this!!!!!!!!

I just can't take anymore.

My DH is the same. He started making a cupboard under our stairs about 8 years ago, it's still not finished.
He decided to network the house a year ago, so had to drill holes all the way up the stairs. I agreed on the understanding that we would be decorating soon after. It's still not been done, he's plastered over the holes and that's as far as he got.

Leaving empty packets in cupboards and starting new things without getting rid of the old.

Eg empty paracetamol packets in the cupboard so I think we have some when we don’t and starting a new orange juice in the fridge whilst leaving the current one, so I’ve no idea which is the newest and which needs chucking. Drives me batty.

He is incredibly lovely though in other respects which is why he isn’t under the patio.

I do these things and I know it's drives my poor dh mad

Sunsetsupernova · 05/01/2022 17:37

He faffs. He’s very particular and likes everything perfect. For example, when we’re coming back from a holiday he will immaculately fold his dirty clothes back into his suitcase for them to just be thrown in the wash basket when we get home.

That I can deal with, it’s when we’re in a rush and he’s totally oblivious. For example, he works on Saturdays but will time his day to finish early if we have plans. So I’ll be waiting for him to rush in the door, get changed and leave. Oh no, this is the perfect time for him to go and have the car cleaned or pick up his dry cleaning. It drives me nuts!

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 05/01/2022 17:38

Mine breathes....

Seriously though his version of cleaning up after dinner and mine are very different. He washes up but doesn't clean the sink or draining board and leaves food in the sink 🤢

Littlecaf · 05/01/2022 17:43

Being really particular about how washing is hung up to dry.

Failing to see the pile of crap left of the stairs which needs to go upstairs to be put away.

When he’s come back from doing the food shop, Scrunches up (recycled) plastic bags and stuffs them somewhere on the kitchen counter (eg between the kettle and the toaster, behind the sink taps) instead of putting them away under the sink.

Buys the DC sweets!

Love him really though. And I do silly stuff too like forget the washing machine has been on and forget to make the DC packed lunches. Ooops.

Avarua · 05/01/2022 17:44

If he's at a social occasion he becomes completely oblivious to the needs of his kids. Leaving me running around after them and him having a jolly old time Envy.

Instead of bending down to put them in the him or compost he leaves things like teabags, kiwi peelings, mandarin skins in the sink. Never thinks to muck out the sink ever, really Envy (not envy)

Pretty much lovely otherwise.

converseandjeans · 05/01/2022 17:45
  • Clamps his armpit over the top of the duvet so when he rolls over it drags it off me.
  • Rustles packets of sweets while we're watching TV
  • Makes roll up fags at various places round the house leaving a trail of tobacco - instead of making a batch for the rest of the day he just makes one each time
  • Falls asleep watching some documentary then wakes up as soon as I want to change channels

I realise these seem really petty & I'm sure I also do annoying things.....

Avarua · 05/01/2022 17:47

He also irritates me by being instantly good at everything! Like, imagine there's a fundraising tenpin bowling competition or something like that. My jammy husband will win things like that without ever having tried bowling in his life. He'll do things like wallpapering for the first time and do a marvelous job. Whereas if it was me doing it, it'd be fucked. It really annoys me because it's not fair!

Wilkolampshade · 05/01/2022 17:48

He's doing it now - whilst driving (I'm in the passenger seat) It's a small outward push of air, like a shushy grunt every time he changes gear. He does the same on the loo having a crap, you can just hear it through the door.

Hellocatshome · 05/01/2022 17:49

Lots and lots but the major one that has be wondering wether it would be accepted as a reason on the divorce forms is putting bottles of shower gel/shampoo upside down. Some are meant to sit with the opening at the bottom some are meant to sit with the opening at the top you can tell which is which based on which way up the label is. DH sits everything with the opening at the bottom and it actually really really pisses me off!

Adm1010 · 05/01/2022 17:50

Opens the bread by ripping it in the middle !!! Angry

CounsellorTroi · 05/01/2022 17:51

Phones on his mobile then immediately switches it off to save the battery. So when I phone him back……

Sunsetsupernova · 05/01/2022 17:52

@Wilkolampshade mine does that on the loo as well! I’ve taken to loudly saying “gosh that must be a big poo you’re doing” 😂 Very immature I know

BlondeDogLady · 05/01/2022 17:53

Mine does nearly all of these!

Opening a milk (or jar) when there is already one open.

Leaving a used plate and cutlery in the sink - which is RIGHT NEXT TO the dishwasher.

Coming home from work and putting his rucksack on the kitchen worktops that I have just wiped down.

Putting clean cutlery on the footstool that our feet are on every night. Erm, I'll go get a fresh set thanks.

But the absolute worst (and I've told this on here before) was when we travelled long haul, his hand luggage (a rucksack) had been every floor imaginable - the car, the train, the plane, the transfer bus, the hotel....we get to our lovely room and he puts his rucksack on to my lovely clean hotel pillow. It gave me the absolute rage!!

Also, doing things that make no rational sense. For eg. we had to drop our dog off to his Dad's for holiday care. His Dad lives in a different town, some 30 minutes away. He also had an errand to run in the same town. Now, I would combine these 2 tasks, but no, he drove there and ran his errand, and then came back to collect the dog, only to go back to the same town again to drop the dog. I mean, why?

Chely · 05/01/2022 17:56

He tries to help but refuses to do things the way I like them done, I have OCD and he thinks it's funny to interrupt my little rituals too.

ninnynonny · 05/01/2022 18:02

Denies he was snoring when I tell him the next morning he was snoring. 'I WAS AWAKE'
Course you were love...

thepeopleversuswork · 05/01/2022 18:03

Looking at football results on his phone when I'm talking to him/watching tv with him. It drives me absolutely spare.

Someaddedsugar · 05/01/2022 18:05

As much as I love him, DP irritates the hell out of me on occasions - he insists on tidying up constantly and I can never find anything as he's put it in a random cupboard. Then he tells everyone he does all of the tidying and his family all think he's amazing. Drives me insane!

ParkheadParadise · 05/01/2022 18:05

He doesn't hang a washing out the right way.
He will pull everything out of the washing machine straight into the basket.
It drives me bloody mad everything is mixed up. He knows it does my head in but will reply it still dries whatever way it's hung out 🤷‍♀️

blahblahx · 05/01/2022 18:06

After I've cleaned the kitchen he comes in and starts making food, every time. Kitchen is then a mess once again

Dogmum40 · 05/01/2022 18:06

He breathes 😆😆😆😆

dudsville · 05/01/2022 18:07

Mine starts a sentence and then stops speaking, or says he's ready to leave.... but then goes to the toilet for an age. I love him. I sometimes do things that I hope are equally forgivable!

mogkat · 05/01/2022 18:07

Think we are married to the same man! Haha. This is my husband to a tee! Drives me mad that he's never ready and always faffs about with irrelevant things when you're in a rush.
girafferafferaffe · 05/01/2022 18:09

He puts things in the fridge uncovered ie bacon.

Wtf!
