Hi all - we're afraid that we don't believe the OP is genuine. We've removed their threads and posts.

@decadance I am so sorry. The love you two share sounds like something I dream about. I really hope he pulls through Thanks

decadance · 27/12/2021 21:03

Thank you for the kind messages, my husband opened his eyes today, he still can't speak or move but his temperature from the chest infection is now normal, and the doctors said they will move him to The Chelsea and Westminster hospital for rehabilitation, he is a fighter, he survived a civil war in his country when he was just a young student, never saw his family again, but i was lucky enough to meet him and we had our own family and now 2 beautiful grandchildren, i found this little poem in his wallet today, he was such a wonderful father to our 2 now grown up children
Fifty years from now
it will not matter
what kind of car you drove
What kind of house you lived in,
How much money you had in your bank account,
nor what your clothes looked like.
but the world will be
a little better because
You were important
in the life of a child

Butteredtoast55 · 27/12/2021 21:09

A handbag I told him I liked and some Neom Deep Sleep bubble bath. Happy with both.

Muddywoof · 27/12/2021 21:11

A lamp and three lightbulbs. Oh and a keyring that he has misplaced. I got him two lamps and two keyrings... we are a good match.

whatkatydid2013 · 27/12/2021 21:22

A dry robe, a poppy dress, an ice dip social with some friends & a stocking with a wide selection of funky tights, moulton brown hand cream & bubble bath, various kitchen bits & champagne.

Mary46 · 27/12/2021 21:58

@decadance thinking of you at this hard time.

Ivchangedmynameforthis · 27/12/2021 22:12

A hoodie and a pair of slippers I chose myself. I got him an unlimited cinema voucher for cineworld as we bought our son one and they like the same movies (and means I don't have to go)

Ofmypencilcase · 27/12/2021 22:32

@whatkatydid2013 I don’t know what those first three things are 🙈🤷🏻‍♀️Am I old

evtheria · 27/12/2021 22:35

Jewellery

Pieces that are not what I’d choose for myself, but considering he usually does a mad dash around Tesco* he’s made an effort. He has said I can exchange them, but I know it’ll secretly hurt his feelings if I do. Ffs.

*The irony is there’s actually a ‘cheap’ necklace in Tesco I really like!

Getyourjinglebellsinarow · 27/12/2021 22:38

@DazedandConcerned

He sponsored a turtle named PopTart for me. Best gift ever. Really showed he listened when I said I didn’t want anything and that he understands how much I love animals and conservation/rescue.

I’ll get to follow her on an app until her gps tag dies. Very happy bunny.

This is lovely and so incredibly thoughtful!

DH got me a bike, I got him a holiday

shakinsti · 27/12/2021 22:41

Some kitchen bits I'd asked for, pyjamas, bottle of gin, a lovely notebook, travel mug.

Justgorgeous · 27/12/2021 22:46

Cashmere socks, boots, perfume, slippers

GrandDuchessRomanov · 27/12/2021 22:53

Lap tray
Huge box of Fortnum & Mason biscuits and chocolates I love
Moshulu slippers
Assorted boxes of chocolates
Socks
Chanel perfume
Lighters
2 books
A special piece of wall art he had made featuring a kermit the frog quote (huge Jim Henson fan)
US $$$$$$$$$$
3 weeks in the USA in June in which to spend them! (Covid permitting)
I LOVE everything, he knows me so well, mind you after almost 30 years together, if my DH doesn't know me by now he never will!

kellyb220982 · 27/12/2021 22:54

A weight loss recipe book and gloves, both he bought whilst I was there and some random chocolates.
We had agreed this year not to really buy presents for each other but I still got him 2 lots of aftershave (he’s needed some for ages but doesn’t ever buy his own) and a new (expensive) coffee machine as he’s been saying his old one was give his drinks a funny taste despite cleaning it several times.
I told him my mum had some pointers for stocking fillers but he didn’t ask her so she bought them for me herself.
For me Christmas is about surprises that show you’ve really thought about the recipient no matter how big or small the present but my husband is the worlds worst present buyer!!! All my best presents I have chosen or bought myself as ‘from him’ because we share money.
No one bar us 2 (and now anyone reading this) know I was there when he bought my engagement ring because despite looking together in shop windows for weeks and picking out examples he refused to have the sole responsibility of going to the jeweller and picking one. What he doesn’t know is he did pick it as I went along with his selection in the jewellers so it really was the ring he wanted me to have which he also knew meant something to me! Men!!

whojamaflip · 28/12/2021 18:03

@crispsinasandwich - it's surprisingly not that heavy but is the equivalent of 14 tog (I feel the cold! 😳) it's organic cotton stuffed with pure sheep's wool and it's gorgeous to sleep under. Wool is supposed to regulate your temperature at night (useful as I'm menopausal!) and is naturally antibacterial so doesn't need cleaning as often. I cant remember the make of it but I do know it's British Wool accredited.

FlutterbyNightTime · 28/12/2021 18:06

I'd be delighted with a candle.

I got a shallow casserole dish which I've wanted for ages and some Sauce Shop hot sauces.
