Just saw this half way down the home page of the Daily Mail. Clearly it’s a part of the settlement agreed after Meghan’s success in the courts.

This isn’t a thread about Meghan, it’s more the Daily Mail trying to hide this in their homepage and so trying to bring attention to it!

They are heading to be billionaires in a few years. Running their lives on their terms. Don't pander to the tabloids and have created a new post royal life for themselves. They also look incredibly happy.

Folks, they seem to have made the best choices.

Exactly Bloody good on her Glad she's won. The Daily Mail in particular have been absolutely obsessed with her, negative piece after negative piece for things Kate was praised for (can't remember article on particular but Meghan and avocado's bad, Kate good! for example Grin They're utterly pathetic. Double standards. I'm not particularly a Royal fan but hate the way she is treated so differently.

I'm sure there will be someone somewhere writing a thesis on why middle-aged, middle-class women (MN's main demographic) are so passionately devoted to arguing about rich people who don't know they exist. If you advance search the names, you'll see just how prolific some posters are in 'defence' of their 'side'. It's fascinating ... and also slightly worrying. Where does 'fandom' tip into 'mania'?

😆 It is fascinating, I think some see the RF as their own family & it's gets very personal.

They’re not some random celebs - they were part of the RF which like it or not is a British institution. So expected for people to have strong feelings. Especially as they cost taxpayers to thé tune of several million. I personally think they should be made to pay it all back. Also it’s vulgar to be insulting an institution and at the same time continue to trade off the name. I’d have a lot more respect for H&M if they genuinely tried to make their own way in the world. They have the means to. She’s an actress and I’m sure he has some actual skills.

Anyway I’m passionately dedicated to money so until some comes my way…

So much envy for MM. She's smart, rich, successful and seriously good looking. She and Harry are much better off without the RF to drag them down. The sooner the RF is abolished the better.

The press slags MM off for wearing an expensive dress yet praise KM when she wears an expensive dress. And we all know what lies at the heart of that double standard. So much ingrained racism....how dare the mixed race woman get above her station and all that. If you deny it then you are complicit.

I unabashedly love Meghan Markle and I’m delighted she sprung Harry (the best of a bad bunch) out of the toxic prison of the royal family. Long may they be happy, rich and successful 🥳

It has been a complicated issue - eg the British royals have that com,pact with the press where they will show the new baby to the press right away in return for being left alone to an extent. Prince Harry chose not to do that and has sought to leave the royal family whilst living off the publicity of the royal family so it is quite a complicated position he and his wife have put themselves into but I am sure the royal family like all families hope all the cousins can meet and I wonder if perhaps the children should go to school in England at some stage to keep connections up.

The press also slagged off Diana. I also agree that the RF should be abolished, and since MM is so rich she can pay the money back as she doesn't want to be associated with RF.

p.s. I am also mixed race... except unlike MM have zero white blood and it's obvious that she benefitted from hers

Diana was kicked out of the RF and no longer allowed to be called Princess of Wales after the divorce. Did you feel that she ought also to have 'paid it all back'?

Andrew has effectively excluded himself from the RF - he ought to 'pay it all back as well'.

The whole institution is a load of anachronistic bollocks.

This is a strange thing to say. Because Eugenie also took her time to show the baby and only showed us an arm and blanket at the beginning an no one batted an eyelid.

Harry and Meghan pay their own way, so they are not at all obligated to show us Lili.

There are a lot of mixed-white celebrities who have benefited hugely from being partly white - Zendaya, Keanu Reeves, Mariah Carey, Avan Jogia (he hasn’t been stereotyped like Dev Patel has because he’s half-white), KJ Apa, Halle Berry, Jason Momoa, even Taika Waiti would not have progressed anywhere telling Maori stories if he wasn’t half-white (makes me so sad about this).

Look at the evidence of Edward Verity in the trial. He admitted to meeting with a “senior member of the royal family”. Could be anyone from the Queen to William, but there were definitely leaks from the Royal Family.
