Does anyone really and truly care about this ? The DM have done what they were legally required to do, no more, no less.
The Court's judgement was widely reported in the media. Move on.
@Dillydilly01Yes. I do.
A free press is a hugely important cornerstone of any democratic society. In an ideal world, it shines a spotlight on corruption. This doesn't happen in as many cases as it should, but it's still a crucial function.
The press can hold to account dictatorial leaders, political corruption, and issues like cash for honours/questions. It can stop the wrong people having too much power and influence, even though I'm the first to acknowledge that this doesn't always happen the way it should.
The media has a unique ability to exert a high degree of influence on readers and listeners. This puts it in the position of enormous power, and makes our broadcasters and news reporters custodians of huge privilege. They are under an obligation to treat this power and privilege responsibly, and have particular codes and ethics of conduct by which they should abide.
That's why, when they refuse to take this responsibility seriously or abide by these ethics, they need very strongly bringing to book.
A relentless, unending campaign of bullying and spite against one woman with whom been possessed of an irrational, obsessional dislike, is a gross abuse of that privilege. This is not in any way okay.
