Daily Fail and Duchess of Sussex

Just saw this half way down the home page of the Daily Mail. Clearly it’s a part of the settlement agreed after Meghan’s success in the courts.

This isn’t a thread about Meghan, it’s more the Daily Mail trying to hide this in their homepage and so trying to bring attention to it!

And the likes of @sst1234 @Notmoresugar
Posting as if you personally know them. Honestly get a life literally no one knows who you are or cares about your opinion of people who are so far above you.
Did you see their family photos- Meghan stays winning

whenthedoveslie · 26/12/2021 20:58

Why do MN allow so many personal attacks on Meghan and Harry that are made up? People on here don't know them, so the personal attacks are fantasies. And if anyone did the same about William and Kate they would be deleted and banned.

And yet there was post on here recently that went on for pages and pages about people posters couldn't stand. That's ok then? Just as long as it isn't Harry Or Meghan.

I think it's fascinating that because of the case William has been proven to be aware / behind a lot of the leaks and negative Palace briefings against Meghan.

Yes. It's been immensely enlightening.

Anything that smacks the Daily Fail sounds good to me.
I'm a Republican, but I cannot comprehend what MM is supposed to have done that's so bad. She's the only one of the royal crew who has earned her own living and was successful in her own right. Heaven forbid a woman in the 21st Century should have opinions and dare to express them.
The royals keep rolling out women to be nothing more than clothes horses whose single achievement is to marry, have children and dissolve any brain they were born with. Unbelievable.

amicissimma · 26/12/2021 23:14

It must be an amazing paper, The Daily Mail. It can apparently get its articles into people's heads without them actually reading it!

toconclude · 26/12/2021 23:20

@HangingOutWithTheSandman

The haters don’t want to talk about it, they were convinced she would lose. So glad she won.
"the haters"? Are you twelve?
DdraigGoch · 27/12/2021 00:07
@DdraigGoch

It was a copyright infringement case. It was always about the ownership of the letter, but the case had a lot of witnesses and all the rest of it as they tried to defend it by saying it had been discussed by others, and H&M dont have privacy over certain things due to their status (public interest and all that).

But, at the end of the day, it was a copyright case and the law was upheld.
Copyright infringement isn't going to be considered the crime of the century by most people. It's not like privacy or defamation. People won't care.

TreborBore · 27/12/2021 00:35

The mail is a racist rag. They hate MM because she’s black. Pleased that she won.

Yes. When you scrape back all the veneers and hyperbole I would agree that this is at the core.

Will be interesting to see how future generations look back on the reporting of them. It's almost at 'burn the witch' levels at times.

Successful black women who don't know their place do trigger a lot of people.

Snoozer11 · 27/12/2021 01:00

She lied in court and now she gets a massive fucking pay out.

It's outrageous.

She won because it was a simple, clear cut copywrite case. Nothing to do with right and wrong.

MarineBlue33 · 27/12/2021 01:02

Thanks for sharing this OP. A victory for the Duchess of Sussex over that vile excuse of a paper. Can't believe they tried to bury this (well I do actually).

She is not black.

She is mixed race.

She was raised single handedly by her white father, living a white lifestyle in California - one of the whitest and Whitest places on earth.

She has no connection to any sort of black culture.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 27/12/2021 01:07

What are you on about? She wasn't raised single handedly by her white father!

Snoozer11 · 27/12/2021 01:09

She was.

Doria was absent when she was growing up. No one knows where she was for years.

How do you know why they hate her (if they do) because she is black? Have they told you that? If not, you couldn’t know the reason for their supposed hatred. Most of the articles trashing her were by Piers Morgan who has a personal vendetta, as he does with anyone who he thinks slights him.
Dottybackorcid · 27/12/2021 01:32

Grin scummy paper writing about a scummy 2nd rate actress and her divy husband. Let's face it no one on here would even mention Megan if she has not sought out and bagged her self a dim prince. She only claimed to be black one it suited her agenda, she spent all her life claiming to be white.

Would be glad never to hear from migrain or daily fail again. No doubt the hun fan club will be up in arms now. Don't worry I won't respond I don't care what they have to say, much like their beloved migrain.

SonicBroom · 27/12/2021 02:01

I saw the headline and it reminded me again how for me the real loser in all this was DoS. Being outed for lying to court and to the world over contributions to that awful book, and for outwardly styling the letter for the benefit of public consumption, will have a bigger impact on her than the result will on the DF.

At the same time as being outed by her dad for lying about her childhood in order to craft or choreograph some new pseudo political persona for whatever agenda she wants to follow next.

For me the extent to which this has shown her integrity to be compromised is far worse than that of the DF.

It has proven that she's an unreliable witness who'll say anything to get her own way.

Just like how she got married three days before the wedding. How she couldn't afford to go to restaurants as a child, despite the proof she did. How Kate made her cry, which literally everyone involved disputes.

And as a result of these lies, she is paid more money than most of us will ever see in our lifetimes.

It makes me so angry.

Roussette · 27/12/2021 06:55

Some vile insults overnight I see... I can only presume some posters have been on the sauce.

What I don't understand is...
there are a couple of celebs/famous people I am really not keen on. They irritate me. I do my best to avoid seeing or reading about them. I see threads on here occasionally about them . The most I would do is idly have a read of a few posts, then avoid the threads. More often than not, I wouldn't even open the thread.

Yet there are posters here who are intent in spewing out vitriolic hate and name calling about this couple they don't know. And then insulting anyone who doesn't agree with them. Weird. Not in a million years would I open up a thread of someone I dislike and type a stream of insults. I can only presume it gives them a high and makes them feel good to do this, which is a bit sad really.

Roussette · 27/12/2021 06:58

Because it's obvious. And no, most articles were not by Piers Morgan. Once there was once 27 articles about them in a 24 hour period in the Fail. Morgan didn't write them all, there's plenty of other reporters to dish out the vile stuff.

Billandben444 · 27/12/2021 07:43

I'm a DM reader and I own it. I don't agree with some of its content and leave some pages totally unread, but particularly like the Money Mail, sports coverage and Health section. I'm in bed with a cuppa doing the cryptic crossword at the moment - less challenging than the Times or Telegraph but enough of a struggle. I skip over most of their coverage of H&M as they obviously have an axe to grind. I can't be the only DM reader on here but at least I'm honest about it.

Ohwhere2021 · 27/12/2021 08:45

People talk about the couple as if they know them. For example saying she claimed she was white, why because she chemically straightens her hair? Many black women actually do this and I don’t know any white women who have to do this. She can claim to be black or white too if she likes as she is mixed race.
