I very much doubt it. I think they need to vote through any restrictions
Ah ok thanks
@nonotobvious does this all happen on one day?
I strongly suggest that you subscribe to news alerts from the BBC.

Their latest update (as of 10 minutes ago) says there will be no restrictions announced today.

(My bet is that there will be no further restrictions at all, because although the case numbers are increasing rapidly, before Christmas the numbers getting ill enough to need hospital treatment were not showing signs of increasing at the same rate. But the Government will be looking at the latest data today to see if anything has changed. The data is normally released to the public later in the day, and can be found here: coronavirus.data.gov.uk/)

As I understand it, Parliament would have to be recalled and a vote held for any legally binding restrictions to be brought in, but the Government could make recommendations without a vote. Either way, doesn't look like anything will happen today.
