The sooner we all admit this, the better. You're just lying to yourselves if you say otherwise.

The worst are the people who say "oh but if you fry them with bacon and crack cocaine they taste great." No. That is the bacon and drugs being worsened by this green hell.

Let's admit this once and for all.

One of my favourites, especially glazed with honey and ginger.

They're little balls of disgusting bitterness. Not really a fan of cabbage, kale, etc either but DH is a good cook and can at least make those edible with bacon. Although like someone else said I'm one of those people that finds coriander tastes soapy so maybe that's why. Never understood why people would eat carrot and coriander soup because it tastes like dirty soap to me!

There is a gorgeous recipe I use for sprouts. I don't only have them at Xmas.

It's sprouts and leeks, with stilton and double cream and bacon lardons.

Bake for 30 mins. Fucking FIT.

Dh likes them, I used to, but not so much now.

I love them. Any time of the year.

My dh who is a vegetarian insists on having sprouts each Xmas. Last year I noted he cooked 8 and 5 got thrown away. He can't like them as much as he says.

I love sprouts! Annoying that they've become less bitter in recent years but still tasty. I really love bitter flavours though.

She is the only kid who you could pick up from school and say "Guess what we are having for dinner" and she wouldnt say pizza/takeaway/maccies.....she'd shout "SPROUTS!" with glee

Oh, wow! I'm on the 'sprouts are awesome' side but that has to be one of the most mumsnetty, middle class sentences ever uttered!

But sadly its true....she is obsessed with them. That said if the words "No we're having a chinese takeaway/maccies/dominoes" she wouldnt exactly be disappointed and would have worked out exactly what she wants by the time we got to the car.....so not quite as middle class mumsnetty as it first appeared!

I should add that I have five other kids and I can say with absolute certainty that if asked the same question they would all say "Delivery Pizza", no question and they love sprouts too, just not as mad about them as she is!

I love them! Parboiled briefly then stir fried with chestnuts and pancetta. Delicious!

Drizzled with garlic and olive oil and roasted in the oven, they are delicious.

Sprouts ain’t the best but then I always eat them on one day of the year, xmas day!!

I love sprouts but I am Asian and cook them in curries, usually lamb curry and has to be spicy.

Never tried boiled or fried sprouts so can't say what they taste like outside of spicy curries
