The sooner we all admit this, the better. You're just lying to yourselves if you say otherwise.

The worst are the people who say "oh but if you fry them with bacon and crack cocaine they taste great." No. That is the bacon and drugs being worsened by this green hell.

Let's admit this once and for all.

We like them here, we choose them and eat them at other times, and used to grow them.

We use them as a cabbage substitute in stir fries and curries, and we have them in cheese sauce, and I love bubble and squeak.

Nope. People just eat them for the pancetta - Waitrose even admit this on their Christmas telly advert. HTH.

Love them. I steam them in a bag and eat them as they are. Nothing added. Sometimes I chop them up and add them to a potato soup for a bit of extra flavour.

I love them! They’re just like little cabbages. Don’t you like cabbage? I think people must over cook them. You don’t want them soggy, I agree that is revolting.

I love them. And I remember how pleased I was when early one December many years ago my younger daughter, then aged about 8, declared 'hooray, we're having sprouts again. I love sprouts!'

She's now in her early 20s and still loves them.

Absolutely love them. My whole family does. They still talk about the day I stole one of my brother's sprouts years ago. He has since stolen one of mine but won't shut up about my original offence. But I just didn't know he loved sprouts as much as me.

Our "Christmas bonus" every year is a stalk of sprouts- we work in sprout land and the countryside reeks of them at harvest time every year! I do like them but I'm the only one in my family who does and there is no way I can get through a whole stalk full on my own!

Love 'em. Fab with a roast, a pie or a casserole and cold leftover ones are fantastic in bubble and squeak. And for Christmas dinner I do them with pancetta and a few chopped chestnuts - bloody lovely.

A lot of people overcook them, and that not only makes them go soggy but makes them taste bitter, too. They lose that lovely fresh flavour. And the ones you buy on the stalk taste much fresher and less bitter, too.

I don't like sprouts but my one kid who doesn't like veg really likes them so I guess some people do like them!

To make it even worse for the potato lovers there is only one way of preparing them that I could eat forever. McDs fries.

I love them! Especially small ones - my husband cooks them with bacon and maple syrup and that's lovely, but I eat them all year round, leftovers are great fried up into bubble and squeak!
