To not wait for PCR Result?

DS and I both had colds this week and because he was coughing and had a slight temp (37.9) we both needed PCR’s. For clarity though, we are very confident the tests will be negative, we’ve both had stuffy noses and sore throats so it’s just a cold.

We went to a drive through test centre at 9am on Thursday, it’s now Sunday and we still don’t have our results. It’s been a nightmare because we had lovely Christmassy plans this weekend we’ve had to miss and we’re all gutted.

Firstly, is there somewhere we can contact to check the status of our tests?

Secondly, the dog desperately needs a walk. WIBU to take the dog out tonight at midnight when no one else will be up in the field?

It was a joke and have you been to nasty sad bag school

I just don’t believe that walking past someone whilst outside spreads covid. I know they’d like to have you believe that to keep everyone full of fear and sticking to the draconian measures.. but the reality is that you’d need to be in close contact inside with poor ventilation for a considerable amount of time.

I think it’s completely safe to walk your dog out in the fresh air. Even if you see people I honestly do not believe that you’re going to infect them. The concept is actually ridiculous. Never in the history of life have people caught viruses out in the country from a dog Walker they’ve walked past across the road. It’s madness. People need to calm down.

I agree. There needs to be some common sense taken. She's not going shopping or travelling on the train without a mask. Hence why people were allowed to meet outdoors in the lockdowns (and that was before lateral flow tests became widely available).

@FajitaBonita actually I've been told the same, not sure where OP is , I'm in Scotland , but the team cannot see your result, just that it's in the system. They will only chase the team who can see the results after the 72 hours has passed

So in fact You're the one talking utter bollocks 🙊

Couldn't have put it better myself

This is exactly it. When I called back later I was on hold for 40 minutes while the woman on the phone contacted a different team to find out what was happening with my tests. That’s when they told me it had been processed but lost and I needed a new test.

Also what on earth would my motivation be to make the most mundane story up ever? Confused if I was going to lie on the Internet There would be more car chases.

OP merry Christmas, just ignore the bat shit venom

LittleMissMe99 · 21/12/2021 10:22

Both husband and daughter had a stuffy nose and no other symptoms. Both positive with covid.

MeredithGreyishblue · 21/12/2021 11:22

Of course you're allowed to be disappointed. People are absolutely crackers at the moment. Ignore them.

That’s exactly what I said. My point was the OP was making out they said to her that they had a result but wouldn’t tell her the results after 72 hours. So people were making out that 119 were being awkward and wouldn’t tell her the results just for the sake of it as 72 hours hadn’t gone by

119 wouldn’t have said that they would have said they couldn’t chase results look up before the 72 hours. (Now 94 for a home test)

FajitaBonita · 21/12/2021 11:48

And the test “being in the system” does not mean the results are available.

DidoAeneas · 21/12/2021 18:11

Not sure if, Omicron does mostly evade previous immunity. Where's there data for that? In my experience after covid in 2020 + two vaccines and 3 close encounters with positive cases in Autumn/Winter 2021(obviously they didn't know they were positive found out about 1-2 days later) I didn't catch it again.....so, I'd walk the dog ;)
