Will Johnson be gone before Christmas or after?

Sarahlou63 · 07/12/2021 22:38

I'm thinking the 1922 committee grandees will run out of patience fairly soon. So will Johnson stand aside to be a better parent before Christmas or will he continue to drag his party into the shit into 2022?

YABU - hangs on for grim death

YANBU - Who the fuck is Johnson?

I doubt anything will happen this side of Christmas . They will need him to try and get over the new variant and plan B and all the rest of it.
The new year is my bet.

@Exhausteddog

Whilst I don't condone her behaviour in any way does anyone else feel like Allegra Stratton has been the convenient scapegoat? There were at least half a dozen men in the room asking the questions, suggesting answers and laughing along, but she was the spokesperson. Some of them seem to be anonymous and AFAIK none have resigned.
She resigned and they are trying to brazen it out. Hopefully they will get the sack but she made her decision.
IntermittentParps · 10/12/2021 10:00

I think she was offered some deal or other to take the fall.
Cynical?
Perhaps. Or perhaps I've just been living under this government for a bit too long...

StellaGibson118 · 10/12/2021 10:06

Imo she didnt resign. She couldnt be sacked because itd imply the party happened and Boris has denied them at all costs.

StellaGibson118 · 10/12/2021 10:07

If she was sacked, on what grounds would it be?

ancientgran · 10/12/2021 10:56

Well she stood there and told us she resigned. Hang on though was that just another lie? Hard to keep track of them.

She's been employed for under 2 years hasn't she? So they don't need a reason they can just get rid.

Otherwise it could be bringing the organisation into disrepute, which is hilarious if you think about it.

HeadPain · 10/12/2021 11:25

Wow. I never saw this Jacob Rees Mogg video:

mobile.twitter.com/GuidoFawkes/status/1468162117719240706

Fkin bastards were laughing about how they can break the rules whilst we all had to follow them. People were kept away from visiting their loved ones. People died alone, (not just from covid).

HeadPain · 10/12/2021 11:51

And that Allegra video shows they practice their lying and laugh about it. They are laughing about/at us the public. Laughing about flaunting their own covid regulations. Regulations that had a massive and horrible affect on people's lives. Laughing about conning the public . They laughed about it. They laughed at you. How can anyone support them? They are laughing at you even more if you still do. Never been so apparently this upper class posh mentality, one rule for them, one rule for us plebs, how they look down on us and laugh at our pain and misery.

HeadPain · 10/12/2021 11:52

People talk about the past support for Boris... That was from a lot of people on the right who are now anti-lockdown, anti-covid restrictions, anti-vax passports, anti-vax, anti-mask, think covid blown out of proportion etc , so I think he probably losing some of that support.

HeadPain · 10/12/2021 12:01

Sorry multiple posts, just angry about these hypocrites and the arrogance that they have taking us for fools and the affect on people's lives being a joke to them, clearly

StellaGibson118 · 10/12/2021 12:55

@ancientgran that would be as subtle as a brick.

HeadPain · 10/12/2021 13:33

I can't stand James O'B, but he's pretty spot on here. This is about another Boris lie regarding the Tory donor paying for his flat refurb. mobile.twitter.com/LBC/status/1469283279950041089

Lurkerlot · 10/12/2021 13:55

Gone by summer, which is after the council elections in March, COVID in retreat because it’s summer, people able to book holidays, and he can claim it’s all down to the vaccination success.

Chasingaftermidnight · 10/12/2021 14:15

He’s going nowhere. He’s Teflon.

Thecurliestwurly · 10/12/2021 14:33

I don't think Boris will get off his gravy train anytime soon.

I agree with pp's that they will wait for pandemic to be pretty much over then the knives in the cabinet will be fully out. There really will be a raft of sleaze in the papers then. What we are getting now is the tip of the iceberg.

They probably had a good laugh when they ditched the triple lock for pensioners. When you spend £800+ per roll of wallpaper life is just a breeze - sod the great unwashed, let's have a party, we are ok, but we have to "practice our lies in case awkward questions are asked". What a shower!

@DebHagland

The only way to get rid of him is for someone to convince the blithering idiot that 10 Downing Street has been relocated to Peppa Pig World. My stepfather named him "bullshit Boris" years ago.......think it hits the nail on the head
^Your stepfather was an astute man, I can think of other words that are not so "polite" !!

I prefer bungling, bullshit Boris, given his love of alliteration and threes, like the key stage 3 level moron he is
Thecurliestwurly · 10/12/2021 16:40

And now another headline about an ex Tory MP. Sickening behaviour towards his wife and other women.

Can someone tell if there are any headlines about Tory MP's that are NOT related to crime, sleaze and blatant lying? Anyone seen any lately? Oh and utter incompetence, can't forget that.....

enjoyitwhileitlasts · 10/12/2021 16:49

The thing is the Conservative party did not win the last election . The labour party won it for them. Until labour get their act together we are stuck with him or someone equally as bad. (This is from a life long Conservative voter who will never ever again vote Conservative)

CaptainMax · 10/12/2021 16:58

I think it a certainty that he will be gone soon. Like so many other things in life it is a game of checks and balances. Johnson has a negative appeal factor now, this factor is growing and will continue to do so, the perception is that he cannot be trusted. He is finished.

The system won it for them, really. (although people deflecting from voting labour obviously didn't help with seat numbers). A 43.6% share of the vote resulted in a massive 81 seat majority. Meanwhile, SNP with 3.9% of the national vote got 48 seats in parliament, while Liberal Democrats with a national vote share of 11.5% got 11. The seats in parliament don't reflect how people vote, and thats the. problem. Still, I doubt we'll have another try of vote reform for many years, sadly.
Florianus · 10/12/2021 17:07

@StargazerAli

There's no one credible to replace him. JB going wouldn't be enough; we need a new government.
Rishi Sunak is waiting his moment - he has a lot of support in the parliamentary party.
GreenLunchBox · 10/12/2021 18:07

I actually don't want Bozo to go. If he stays surely there's more chance of us getting a change of party.
