Will Johnson be gone before Christmas or after?

Sarahlou63 · 07/12/2021 22:38

I'm thinking the 1922 committee grandees will run out of patience fairly soon. So will Johnson stand aside to be a better parent before Christmas or will he continue to drag his party into the shit into 2022?

YABU - hangs on for grim death

YANBU - Who the fuck is Johnson?

Efrogwraig · 09/12/2021 17:42

Neither. He'll be here, lying through his teeth.

calvados · 09/12/2021 17:43

Bozo the Clown will go down in history for being duplicitous, unrepentant as well as a prolific sperm donor ..

@MapleMay11

Boris Johnson's going nowhere. Starmer and Rayner make themselves look more ridiculous by the day - they're the gift that keeps on giving to the Tories.
This.
maybloss2 · 09/12/2021 17:51

‘What a boris’ is the new descriptor for anyone at all ‘ entitled’ in their attitude and behaviour. I vote for replacing ‘check your privilege’ with ‘check your boris level’ as it describes liars as well as entitled gits.
Another could be’ don’t boris me’
He don’t know when to step down because he has no sense of being wrong or what reality really is!

Graceambrose · 09/12/2021 17:53

The next by-election could trigger a Conservative back bencher revolt if the Coservatives loose the seat. JOHNSON has used up most of his nine lives, so he needs to be carful, which is probably why we are moving towards plan B,

IF I were a Conservative MP I would be paying for 1st class ticket for Rory Stewert to return from US, with an offer of Coservative party leadership.

If Boris bumbles on to the next election I feel sure Labour will win.

TheRemotePart · 09/12/2021 17:54

You’d need to have decency and a soul to leave, ashamed.
He doesn’t have either
WHY do people keep voting for them?
ENGLAND whyyyy? Stop making the rest of us suffer these tw*ts Sad
The only thing that’ll make him leave will be , hilariously, a sex scandal like him mate Hand-£1000000-contracts-To-My-Mates Hancock
Finished by a drunken grope video ( eew) and no actuality any of the other shite they’ve done.

*i must add though I am not at all surprised they had they audacity to throw a ragerXmas GrinGinWine. I wonder if Cummings knew about it ? Was he gone by then? He’d have been singing that fae the rooftops ,surely?

They won't lose, its a very pro Tory area and the opposition vote is split between the Labour and LibDem candidates, one them should have stood aside.
GoodPrincessWenceslas · 09/12/2021 17:59

There's a pretty stunning recording of Dominic Grieve (Conservative) tearing Johnson apart

By all accounts there are an awful lot of Conservatives with similar views. We are looking not just at someone who is utterly incompetent and a liar, but someone who is blatantly corrupt to the extent of outright criminality as well. He has to go, before he ruins the country.

me4real · 09/12/2021 18:00

I don't think he'll go over this.

angela99999 · 09/12/2021 18:00

@fallagain "I’m struggling to see many positives on either side. I’m no Tory but it’s a shame Rory Stewert messed up that TV leadership interview".
Yes, I agree, and if he was still around now he would have been at least a contender.

Dearblossom · 09/12/2021 18:03

Amongst some tory circles he is known as the 'greased piglet'. How appropriate.

Samedaysame · 09/12/2021 18:03

Tom Tugendhat is the man to take over imo just wisj the Tories would give him a higher profile

JazzyBBG

Who would they replace him with though? Bloody Gove?!

Hunt

Yes, I saw him interviewed recently and he seemed intelligent and articulate - can't remember what he did to kick him out of the cabinet.
Sahid Javid is sounding quite sensible as health minister.
Priti patel is probably good as she does get things done but I doubt the misogyny against female leaders will allow her in.

Allegedlyy), so long and thanks for all the fish. But not before Christmas."GrinGrinGrin Spot on.

Oscarsdaddy · 09/12/2021 18:14

There aren’t many in the Tory cabinet that I would trust but I wholeheartedly trust Rishi Sunak and he should be our next PM

Bumbling Boris must go

LuluBlakey1 · 09/12/2021 18:14

But who is his successor? Is it really Sunak - who is very inexperienced? Please God it will never be Gove, Certainly the days of David Davies and Sajid Javid have gone, and I think Jeremy Hunt (although I suspect he wouldn't agree). I hear Liz Truss mentioned and am really puzzled by that - I can't think of anything she has done that is good, skilled, inspirational. Tom Tugendhat is mentioned but I have no real idea who he is.
At the minute there us still a lot of shit to come and I don't think they really want rid of Boris while he is the person taking it all- whoever was leader who have a lot to face up to. I think it will be a while yet, another year or more.

LuluBlakey1 · 09/12/2021 18:15

Priti Patel - never! she would not have support in the parliamentary party.

bellaiceberg · 09/12/2021 18:18

I think i would rather eat my own shit than have Patel as PM. What a heartless, disgusting human being she is. Have people forgotten her views on rape?

Labour have lost me, I'm done, but i could never vote tory.
I only wish there was a decent amount of choice. Pity this is a two party system, they'd all do much better creating a mixed government. But then that would likely put an end to divisive political dross in the daily rags, so no hope there!

Apparently the betting odds are going the LDs way atm with them as favourites to win.
QueenBee70 · 09/12/2021 18:21

He will stay as he has brainwashed too many people to believe his bumbling bullcrap sadly.

Ghoulette · 09/12/2021 18:21

I hope he doesn't, but only because the voter base might turn on him and actually vote for someone who won't keep fucking us.

I doubt they would, but they might. If they replace him with someone Tory voters like then they are guaranteed to vote Tory again.

I did feel a bit of jealousy watching the German parliament swear in their new leader yesterday - all very boring and sensible. He had to put together a coalition of partners who all seem to look at politics in a grown up sensible manner, they are able to plan and fund public services strategically rather than just based on when it looks best for an election cycle. It didn't seem to have that tribal sports fans support of political parties and individuals either.

FPTP has been the downfall of this country over the last decade.

VicToryA · 09/12/2021 18:26

@Libertaire

He’s going nowhere.

Why? Because for all his incompetence & venal dishonesty he remains an electoral asset to the Tory party. And until such times as that demonstrably changes, he’s safe.

So many comments on this thread are good, but I'm picking on this one.

I voted Conservative my entire life (I'm in my 50s) until the last election. I didn't vote Conservative because of a) Brexit; and b) Johnson. So while they might regard Johnson as an electoral asset in some ways, he's an electoral liability if he has managed to alienate the previously staunch centre-right. I can't imagine ever being able to vote Conservative again.

Though, as someone said upthread, the Labour party are the gift that keeps on giving to the Conservatives.

If Brexit hadn't already finished me off with Johnson, his bloody lockdowns and assumption that everyone has a nice easy life in which they can WFH in their lovely big warm houses whilst simultaneously home-educating their compliant moppets, or have nice jobs where they can just be furloughed as someone else's expense would have done it instead.

He can actually just fuck off.

FatCatThinCat · 09/12/2021 18:26

De Spaffle is going nowhere. He likes the trappings of his position too much. Do the decent thing and resign? Never! Besides which, he's just spent over £100k redecorating the flat.
