Off to DD & DS friends party this morning on my only day of rest 😩 and it just made me think who in their right mind has a kids party at this time?

Their having chips & nuggets and pizza at 11:30!!

Is this the norm or am I just not a morning person?

I've done parties at that time. Parents appreciated freeing up the rest of their day. The place I booked didn't do catering so I was up at 6 cooking bacon to put in the slow cookers and take. bacon butties all round and a vat of tea and coffee. There were veggie and halal options as well before I'm taken into the Mumsnet courtyard and shot 😂

Oh I'd totally forgive the early morning start in return for bacon sandwiches!

Completely normal, who with kids young enough to go to big parties aren’t up and awake well before 10.30? If you’re not, I’m really envious!

Totally normal... What parent is still lying around at 10.30am in the morning??

SpeckledHem · 05/12/2021 18:26

Brilliant time, out of the way by lunch time so still plenty of time left in the day to do what you need to do

When my DC were younger, I'd be up and awake at that time obviously, but I didn't like rushing round on weekend mornings. We'd chill in our PJ's for a bit and make breakfast

It's not a bad time.

It can be an excruciatingly long day if kids have a party in the afternoon. They will climb the walls for hours. This way it's done and dusted and everyone can relax afterwards.

Yeh I'd say anything starting after 10am and finishing by 7pm is fine (3 hours max tho 😂) my 5 yo once got invited to a party at 645pm!! He goes bed at 730 usually.
