To be bothered by a delivery driver smoking in their van?

Presume it's the cold and miserable weather but twice in a couple of days I've seen a delivery driver parked round the corner in company van having a smoke with parcels on the dashboard, no windows open. Then delivers said parcels to ours and neighbour's houses - mostly gifts for the babies and children in the family so things we definitely don't want smelling of smoke. Two different drivers. Is it legal for them to do so? Is it unreasonable for us to complain?

I remember your other post @PurpleCurtain about the cereal bars delivered to a non. I'd stop the deliveries, it causes to much angst.

Not sure what the answer is though.

As someone else said if the toys etc are not wrapped, smoke is the least of your worries!

Everything I get seems to come with a load of wrapping, none of yours seem to come with any.

It was the confined space, making something I and neighbour have paid for smelly/ covered in smoke particles, that got me!

I refuse to believe the inside of the box smelt of smoke, more likely imagination at play. The outside, sure. Take contents out and chuck the box, problem solved.

I’ll add, I’m sure it’s a shit job and I sure as heck wouldn’t want to do it so I honestly can’t get outraged.

This is a fucking tragic level of miseryguts. Leave him alone. Get over it. And if you're that worried about third hand smoke then you probably shouldn't live on a road where cars can drive anyway. Air quality and all that.

Our Amazon parcels absolutely stink of weed at the moment, and the cat LOVES it. Once I’ve opened the parcel he spends hours rubbing himself on the cardboard.

Oh was weed or not, we have a brilliant delivery driver and there's no mistaking the weedy waft on the wanker but give him his due he's very cheerful and sings somewhere over the rainbow beautifully.

Our old Hermes driver used to smoke in the van and the parcels and contents absolutely stank. It was horrid, everything smell absorbent had to be washed or aired for days. I never considered complaining but I was happy when he quit. Our current driver also smokes but the packages never smell.

Oh my god this is my current Hermes driver! Everything he delivers stinks to high heaven! He even smokes when he comes to the door and once dropped ash in my house. I made him pick it up and then complained.

Usually I wouldn’t bother complaining and would just rip the packaging off straight away and bin it but he bought his cigarette to my house and that’s not only disgusting but rude.
