AIBU?

Mcdonalds breakfast

Aibu that you can't beat a McDonald's breakfast? Especially after a 13 hour night shift when you snuggle in bed and it's frosty and cold outside on a winters morning.
I know they are terribly unhealthy but a sausage and egg mcmuffin.. Yum!!
Aibu?

I see the majority - almost 7 out of 10 posters think YANBU @jd88123 but it didn't take long for the snide, condescending, rude, obnoxious, demeaning comments (about McDonalds,) to come out from a few posters. Despite the fact their food is no more 'crap' or 'bad' or 'unhealthy' than most places. You never see Burger King, Nandos, KFC, Costa, Starbucks, or any other eateries getting the same flak.

It's the same with the rubbish. When a new Maccies is opening, people moan about how all the waste and rubbish will be strewn in laybys and on grass banks and in hedges etc. No-one ever moans like this about anywhere else.

The snobbery around Maccies is pathetic. Also, having known 5 different people who have worked there over the years, I can tell you that their health and hygiene standards are impeccable. Better than most. So bore off with the libellous snobbery.

Mumsnet never fails to deliver does it? When a thread pops up like this, a raft of people come on it looking down their nose at things deemed 'only for the common!' Wink

@AdmiralCain

I'm scientific, Science required you doubt everything. Religion requires belief. I don't confuse the two. I don't believe in companies, I doubt most things, I require proof, Yes I doubt mcdonalds are the great company you say they are.
If you roll over and believe everything people say, well... You'll very quickly end up on the relationship board asking why all your partners treat you like a muggins (a foolish guilable person)

Did we all just step into an alternate universe??

YANBU. The hash browns are the best, you can't eat one anywhere else that's the same.

GetTheFlockOutOfHere, No it's not just Maccies I despise, I have no doubt KFC chickens are all battery hens in America that are forced to live in their own piss so their own ammonia burns their eyes and legs. I see people eat it, It looks like Grey gelatinous gloop, nothing white meat and firm about it, I boycotted starbucks after 9/11 for charging people for water and their tax evasion, I wont use Pret a manger because of Natasha's Law. There's lots of places I wont shop. I shop with my conscience.

We only allow ourselves a McDonalds breakfast on a journey else I'd have them too often. They also keep us going to beyond lunchtime which is handy. I tried a bacon and egg McMuffin once without following it up with a hash brown because I was trying to be good, but it didn't work. I was very unsatisfied and won't be doing that again.

Do you know one reason why I love MCdonalds.

It is SAFE

I know I can take my autistic kids there and they will eat because the food is exactly the same in Cheshire as it is in London and never changes.

@AdmiralCain You might loathe all of the high street eateries, but it's a fact that McDonalds gets more hate and vitriol and snobbery overall, than any other similar eatery.

Also had two Over the weekend. After night shifts too. I only ever get them on the way home from work 😂

@Vermontfoliage

Order an extra hash brown, one to eat as it is and one to put in the muffin.

This tip is all pro.

That's what I don't understand. There's loads of places similar or worse for food quality, nutrition, animal welfare, employment practices, litter, etc etc and you never see the snarky comments in anywhere near such volume on threads about anywhere else except McDonalds.

@abc345

I love a sausage and egg McMuffin with a hash brown. Yum. The snobbery amuses me; we also eat at expensive restaurants but everything has its time and place.

I can also highly recommend the cooked breakfast at The Ivy Cafe, Aqua Shard and the veggie one at Bills. That said, a McDonald's brekkie is hard to beat for the price.

This.

Farm shop brekkies and Maccy D brekkies are not mutually exclusive!

@limitedperiodonly I could pm you a picture of my friend in her uniform, would that be enough empirical data for you? but on second thoughts I'm not being that person on a random thread full of random strangers.

The McDonalds breakfast menu here in Switzerland DOES NOT HAVE Sausage McMuffins OR Hash Browns. They have Pain au Chocolate and Croissants.
WHO would want to go to McDs for a Pain au Chocolate?! It's ridiculous!

I like a maccies breakfast because i can get it quickly on my way to my job I have to leave the house at 6.30am to get to

If you’re only eating breakfast in a farm shop cafe you have too much time on your hands! Maybe think about a hobby
