AIBU?

Mcdonalds breakfast

Aibu that you can't beat a McDonald's breakfast? Especially after a 13 hour night shift when you snuggle in bed and it's frosty and cold outside on a winters morning.
I know they are terribly unhealthy but a sausage and egg mcmuffin.. Yum!!
Aibu?

@MasterBeth

Everything McDonalds does is a cheap approximation of something you can get better somewhere else.

Burgers. Fries. Coffee. Breakfasts. Yes, it's sometimes convenient and yes, it's always cheap, but all of it can be beaten by much better alternatives.

That's the point though, cheap and quick. Their coffee's are okay for a quid, of course getting one for a few quid will probably be nicer, but it's also 3 times the price.

Order an extra hash brown, one to eat as it is and one to put in the muffin.

You, are a freakin’ genius. I’ve always said so. 🤤

All those saying how they go to their local farm shop, well that's nice dear but someone of us live in the middle of London!

As for me I miss the bagels and the wraps, always had them without the sausage/bacon as don't eat little piggies, but the pork from McDonald's is British and from RSPCA assured farms. The eggs are also free range, but according to some conspiracy theorist on the thread that's just evil Ronald talking bollocks.

Well quite.

Not many farm shop cafes open at 8am on the dual carriageway that gets us to ds's college in the morning and I bet there are not many open after the OP's 13 hour nightshift.

I once had an a hour to kill between dropping ds off at school at 8.30am and an event starting at 9.30am. Not one cafe was open in town at 8.30am!

Also actual LOL at the “my gosh, I’ve never had one, they look vile,” posters.

Duck egg and iberico on brioche, freshly laid, sliced and baked at one’s local farm shop is not better.

When you want a Golden Arches for breakfast, it’s because you want a Golden Arches. Not just egg and bacon. You wouldn’t understand…

Disgusting processed crap Confused, local farm shop café for me with home made sausages and fresh eggs.

It's not processed crap actually. The eggs are organic, they produce their own meat. The only thing that is processed is the slice of processed cheese Hmm

I always ask for a BBQ sauce for dipping the hash brown Wink I can’t believe they still haven’t brought back the bacon and egg bagel Sad truly the worst covid casualty

I loved the bacon & egg bagel! Our local McDonald's stopped doing them before covid & I had to swap the absolutely minging sausage out for bacon.

DD's friend works on McDonald's & has apparently reported my annoyance but they've still not brought it back!

Sorry to be a bitter Sour Puss! I hate Mcdonalds, they are they most unethical business ever and there food is pretty much artificial processed poison. I will not give them one penny.
It amazes me the amount of unethical businesses that all the mums here will boycott but because Maccy D's is the ambrosia of the hungover gods people keep going there.
I borrowed this from Mr Google:

Pink slime McDonald's
"Pink slime" is slang for "ammonia-treated lean beef trimmings." It's an industrial food process by which edible meat parts that stick to the bone but can't be stripped by a knife are recovered by mechanical means and turned into a substance that can beef up burgers and plump up chicken products at lower cost.

Absolute hysterical nonsense! The 'pink slime' was an internet myth that was debunked about 12 years ago! Grin They produce their own meat at their own farms which are assured by the RSPCA. Their eggs are organic, as is the milk. The bread they use is warburtons and the ONLY addition to their burgers/sausage patties is salt & pepper. The chicken in the chicken nuggets is 100% ORGANIC chicken breast.......

Honestly. People like you believe all the crappy myths

I don’t really eat processed food

Except it isn't processed! 😆 The only processed food they sell is the cheese slices

Bold Better quality than a lot of butchers and supermarket sausages for a start.

Haha OMG are you serious! Stop drinking so early in the day.

As I've already stated a few posts up, McD's produce their own RSPCA assured meat of which some is organic (as is their eggs) and do not put ANY additives in their food.

There are more additives in baked beans than a sausage muffin! (Minus the cheese slice)

Nothing wrong with a McD every now and then, we all deserve a guilty pleasure.
Sometimes we have a McD breakfast, sometimes a Toby all you can eat breakfast (usually results in OH spending the rest of the day sleeping in front of the telly).

I used to love the sausage bagel and a hot sweet tea for a post-migraine recovery meal. With a handful of the appropriate medication and a nap afterwards it was truly therapeutic.

You need to google better. McDonalds haven't used mechanically recovered 'pink slime' for a very long time now, and have never used it in the UK.

Love McD's breakfast, I can run all day on two hash browns and a sausage mcmuffin!

For everyone having a farm shop breakfast, bully for you. Believe it or not there aren't many farm shop cafes in the city..

I bloody love these threads and all the posho wannabes that come out claiming to only eat from farm shops. They are far too superior to contaminate their precious bodies with a chemically enhanced nugget 😂

Each to their own of course, but Christ some people need to live a little

I've never enjoyed a Macdonalds breakfast. I just don't find them tasty or appetising at all. I would eat an egg muffin if I had to but only if they remove the cheese slice.

Whenever I've had to have breakfast there I always order porridge and then for some odd reason they offer me a hash brown to go with it ( I can't stand hash browns).

The coffee is very good though.

I love a Big Mac or a filet of fish and would quite happily eat either for breakfast if they let me.

They don't do the wraps where I am, I really miss the wraps.

Nothing wrong with a McMuffin, but having the hashbrown as an integral part of the breakfast mouthful really completed it for me.
