I have been watching the Beatles documentary and got to thinking about her.

She was in the papers constantly in the 2000s, I remember her being painted as an absolute con artist witch. I googled a few articles about her from the time of the divorce. They are brutal in the misogynistic tone, she’s labelled as a slag, a goer, ex prostitute, you name it.

I don’t think papers write about women in such hash terms anymore. Maybe she was a bit of a twat, whoever married Saint Paul would have suffered at that time I think.

I suppose by AIBU is are the press less misogynistic.

The Church of Satan was peripherally linked to the Manson murders through Kenneth Anger.

John and Yoko were living in the apartment where Rosemary’s Baby was filmed. Yoko was obsessed with the occult and her life revolved around voodoo, hypnotism, tarot, numerology, astrology and heroin.

julieca · 02/12/2021 11:27

@EYProvider

There’s no conspiracy, *@TheBoots*, just a strange sequence of events.

It’s too complicated to go into details, so I will summarise.

Yoko’s art circle dabbled in Satanism. Actually, it’s probably more accurate to say that they used Satanism as a front for other things. One of them was a filmmaker called Kenneth Anger, who had links to an organisation called the Church of Satan.

Okay I can understand the level of "facts" you are coming from now. I shouldn't have bothered engaging.
EYProvider · 02/12/2021 11:31

She was having an affair with Sam Green, an ‘art dealer’, who had been implicated in the murder of Barbara Baekeland, a billionaire heiress, with whom he had also been having an affair.

She had a power of attorney to manage John’s image, finances and life, and she immediately rewrote his will, naming Sam Green as Sean’s guardian in the event that she and John died.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 11:34

Meanwhile, John was obsessed with the idea that (1) he was the reincarnation of Jesus Christ, and (2) he would be assassinated.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 11:40

Six months before John’s murder, Kenneth Anger met Mark David Chapman in Hawaii. Chapman allegedly gave him six bullets and told him they were for John Lennon. (Both Chapman and Anger have confirmed this.)

Chapman, a part time security guard, then sold a Norman Rockwell painting to buy a ticket to New York.

Chapman and his wife were both satanists.

CPL593H · 02/12/2021 11:43

Well, for someone who thought he'd be assassinated, he famously had zero security around him.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 11:46

Yes, they fired the security guards the week before it happened.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 11:49

The day after John was shot, Kenneth Anger, who is always in the wrong place at the right time, was interviewed hanging around the crime scene.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 11:56

John, who had spent the last three months doing interview after interview, ramming the Ballard of John and Yoko down the public’s throat, had also told his producer that he probably wouldn’t be seeing him again.

julieca · 02/12/2021 11:58

John supposedly took drugs fairly regularly. I am sure he said all kinds of stuff he didn't mean.
Just as my gran told us for 20 years this was the last Christmas she would ever have so we should all be extra nice to her.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 12:08

I can see the link there, @julieca.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 12:11

Meanwhile, Yoko was also having an affair with Sam Havadtoy, her interior designer.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 12:15

Of course, for Sam Green to get access to the Lennono millions, they both needed to die, but that didn’t happen.

CPL593H · 02/12/2021 12:30

@EYProvider , honestly, what actual proof is there for any of this?

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 12:44

@CPL593H

The will is linked to further up the thread, as well as an article about the Barbara Baekeland murder. Sam Green and Yoko both admitted to the affair. Green talked extensively about it.

Anger’s links to the Church of Satan are well documented. Both he and Chapman have admitted that they met in Hawaii. Anger was interviewed by the Hartford Courant at the crime scene - the article is online.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 12:46

There was no investigation into the case because Chapman admitted that he did it. Case closed.

Toomanyscentedcandles · 02/12/2021 16:36

So where does Yokos commitment to peace and love come into all this? A bit at odds with the Satanism ? Or is that a front too? In the event that john died , everything was left to her, so Sam Green doesn't really matter, does he?

TheBoots · 02/12/2021 17:34

Wow. Just wow. Might want to adjust your tinfoil hat there...

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 17:42

Yoko’s talent is in constructing an image and using it to sell a narrative and influence people. The Ballard of John and Yoko was a construction she/they created - none of it was real.

Yes, the money went to her, not Sam Green. Because she didn’t die. The plan did not come off how it was supposed to (or how it was sold to John) obviously.

gunnersgold · 02/12/2021 17:45

He has strong genes ! All his kids have that melty face look !

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 17:50

What’s your theory on Kenneth Anger meeting Chapman in Hawaii and then turning up at the crime scene then, @TheBoots. I haven’t made this up - IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.

And how do you imagine that Chapman got the money to get his hands on a Norman Rockwell painting? In fact, let me just repeat that bit in case anyone missed it - Chapman bought a ticket to New York by selling a NORMAN ROCKWELL PAINTING.

Is that not a dead giveaway to anyone with half a brain?

Or have you been so taken in by the shit Yoko has sold you over the years - about her feminism, abuse by John and victimisation as an oppressed Asian woman - that you just can’t read between the lines?

It’s just … mind-blowing that you could read all that and dismiss it.

TheBoots · 02/12/2021 17:53

Yes dear.

Incidentally you keep saying that all this is well known, you can read about it on the Internet...but don't provide any links to reputable sources.

TomPinch · 02/12/2021 17:57

Juliaca,

Child support is a statutory obligation owed by the non-custodial parent to make payments to the custodial parent to support their children. It isn't an entitlement to raid a rich person's estate just because you happened to be married to them and have a child with them. In any event Mccartney and Mills had equal custody. From the judgment:

So far as the future is concerned I find that both parties will look after Beatrice under the shared care arrangements agreed by them last June before the Senior District Judge. i.e. Beatrice's time with each parent is, and will be, split equally.

TomPinch · 02/12/2021 18:01

Fwiw I'm finding the Lennon-Ono tangent really interesting, although I think all we can take from it is when one is discussing a bunch of very rich druggies, the usual assumptions and theories don't apply.

EYProvider · 02/12/2021 18:03

You don’t have to look very far to find proof of any of it.

I posted a link to article that was written by Sam Green itself - don’t know how you can say that isn’t a reputable source. I also posted a link to the will.

The Hartford Courant article is online - it’s called ‘The Day John’s Music Died’, you don’t have to look too far to find it, and Anger’s biographer, Bill Landis, wrote extensively about the Hawaii meeting (‘The Unauthorised Biography of Kenneth Anger’, Landis). Both Chapman and Anger have also confirmed it in interviews.

Green went on the record with Goldman about his affair with Yoko, but it is very well documented elsewhere.

What else is missing?
