wtf, i am in the north west, few hours back the wind picked up like nothing i have heard in years. I tis FIERCE!

Anyone else experiencing it?

It is extremely powerful and quite awe inspiring. The noise is seriously dark and creepy. Went outside and was almost taken off my feet. Trees bent double, howling, etc.

Oh god, labs scratching at the patio doors for a wee Shock I'm going out 😧 Boiling the kettle while we still have power. Wish me luck!
@Someaddedsugar I’m on a new build estate and am worried about houses still being constructed sending debris my way. Bloody terrifying, I thought it was meant to have passed by now.
I'm home near Durham. The worst wind and storm of my lifetime up here. This house is surrounded by huge, very old trees. Honestly terrified. Husband asleep.

Patsyanna · 27/11/2021 02:41

In the North West here. Sitting up with the dog. She's terrified, she thinks it's fireworks again! Many trees down, fences etc.

QuestionableMouse · 27/11/2021 02:48

Either I'm losing my mind, or it is thundering and lightening here. Something just flashed like lightening outside at least.

Recruit2020 · 27/11/2021 02:49

NE here. BIGGEST flash of lightening ive ever seen and now hideous thunder! Its biblical

QuestionableMouse · 27/11/2021 02:49

www.lightningmaps.org/ not going crackers, at least 😂😂😂

hellsbells99 · 27/11/2021 02:50

I am in the NW and the wind is still terrible. Thought it would have died down by now

Hydrate · 27/11/2021 02:54

Stay safe!

MinnieJackson · 27/11/2021 03:06

Bloody dog sniffed the air and ran back in, don't blame him! I think it's sleeting and the lights are flickering.

TattiePants · 27/11/2021 03:15

I’m on the NE coast and gave up trying to sleep about 2 hours ago. The constant thuds in the attic above me is freaking me out. I’m praying that it’s just small bits of mortar falling down rather than whole tiles. DH looked out earlier and could see at least 4 tiles in the garden.

immersivereader · 27/11/2021 03:19

Sounds awful. I'm abroad. Stay safe folks Brew

immersivereader · 27/11/2021 03:21

You back, @MinnieJackson?

scarpa · 27/11/2021 03:28

@Toomanybedrooms

From right next to the beach and a shit ton of sand travelled onto our driveway! Cleveleys/Fleetwood here
Aw, I miss the joy of being flayed alive by flying sand if you go outdoors within half a mile of Rossall prom between November and March... Grin
scarpa · 27/11/2021 03:31

It's died down a lot now in south Manchester - was absolutely wild before! Lights have been flickering all night and I'm a bit concerned that my car is parked round the corner under some very creaky trees...

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 27/11/2021 03:32

I’ve been called into work, been here since 11pm - hundreds/thousands of homes without any power, roofs completely collapsed, cars and caravans overturned Shock trees down and blocking roads and falling into houses etc....

I’m mid 30’s and I’ve never experience anything like this, live in the North East.

MinnieJackson · 27/11/2021 03:33

@immersivereader yes thanks! Three year old went back to sleep, now seven year old awake. My patio doors are shaking so much!!

KittenKins · 27/11/2021 03:36

Somerset here. As silly as it sounds I've genuinely been wondering how the wind had managed to blow in a direction it's never done before in my three years here; it's just so loud.

blitzen · 27/11/2021 03:52

I've been woken up with the wind. So loud! Can't get back to sleep. I'm in NE England.

SunShinesBrightly · 27/11/2021 03:54

Wide awake here! The wind is vicious and it’s trying to snow but mainly rain at the moment. I’ve just been watching the neighbour’s rubbish blow down the road as it was their bin that woke me up.
The higher roads are all closed off due t snow according to local FB weather watchers.

Bobbobbobbing · 27/11/2021 03:54

Local FB says part of a house collapsed nearby and power cables lying across the road.

The northern powergrid website is obviously creaking under the weight of reports. I can't even load the page to report a powercut now!

Wow that’s bad.☹️
JayAlfredPrufrock · 27/11/2021 03:56

North.Manchester and the restless dog has just needed to go out for a poo. At least he braved it alone.

TattiePants · 27/11/2021 04:03

Been scrolling through Facebook and there is so much storm damage in the NE. Lots of people have lost their roofs and there are going to be lots of roads closed tomorrow.

Bloody hell!!

chocolateicecream · 27/11/2021 04:24

Those photos are terrible. I’m in the SW and can’t sleep. It is pretty windy here but sounds like we are lucky compared to some places.
