To be devastated my McDonalds order is wrong (light hearted)

Very rarely have McDs but my car is in for its MOT so no transport nothing in the fridge and decided to get one delivered.

Was very excited

It took ages

When it got here:

My fries are missing
My drink is missing
My Festive Chicken thingy without bacon has bacon on it.
My Festive Chicken thingy does not however have any sauce on it. Just dry chicken and lettuce.
There are no dips for the nuggets they did manage to bring for DS.
There are no straws for the one drink they did send.

I have phoned the store over 20 times since 6pm and no one is answering. I now have no dinner. Though DS kindly donated a nugget :)

I've emailed the store and complained to the main customer service email thingy.

AIBU to be upset (not massively just petulantly and yes I know McDs is the devils food on every level but godammit I am HANGRY!)

I ordered a Big Mac with extra pickles last week.
Stupid me didn't check as I usually do as ours are shit too at orders.
Got home.
No chuffing big mac.
Just a fucking box of pickles😫
Now I like pickles but that tipped me over the edge.
( think they did it to piss me off as I hold up the queue to meticulously check my order usually)

Ah McDonald's is just shit at the moment. We've stopped going (much to dcs dismay).
Can't order by Uber eats as not available in our area. Always struggle to park, have to wait an age for the food as the place is packed full of deliveroo/Uber Eats drivers and they seem to take priority, plus my food has been cold (and one time still frozen) the last few times we've been. It's no longer fast convenient food.

BogRollBOGOF · 27/11/2021 10:22

I once did a drive-thru at the end of a long journey with slumbering infants in the car. I pulled up on the drive expecting to find a chicken wrap and fries and instead found a Big Tasty, two double cheeseburgers and one fries. I was disappointed, but I suspect the unwitting chicken wrap owner came off worse!

Wasn't impressed with the Big Tasty, very bloaty (I struggle with soya in bread) got through half and then felt hungry 2 hours later.

I had a similar thing with McDs this week too so complained on Twitter with pictures of the abhorrent offering and got 2x£5 vouchers emailed… the whole meal cost about £20 and it was my part that was so so wrong so I was reasonably happy with that but at the time I was so upset and pissed off as although it is rubbish food you work yourself up to enjoy a ‘cheeky maccys’! Twitter is your friend in future, they all hate it being public and visible ……

Colouringaddict · 27/11/2021 10:45

@RaisedByPangolins

McDs are so shit! They always leave something out.

They ask when you order chicken Selects which sauces you want. And they literally never put them in. I’ve taken to asking when they hand it over - are the dips in there, as the last couple of times they haven’t been - and they say “yes dips are in the bag”. Spoiler alert the fuxking dips are not in the bag!

Angry

You can put notes to the restaurant at the checkout point. I always write in there to please make sure all dips are in the bag
megletthesecond · 27/11/2021 10:47

Yanbu. This is sort of why we never do takeaway. DS has allergies so I can't risk a mistake.

DukkaDukka · 27/11/2021 10:56

Our local McDonald’s gets the order wrong every time.

We frequently have missing items. They sent me a voucher to be used in store only, in lockdown when all the stores were shut.

Last week we didn’t get the DC’s McFlurry so they emailed me a ‘we’re sorry’ email. No offer of actually refunding the missing item. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Gosports · 27/11/2021 12:51

@BogRollBOGOF I know it’s not the point, but McDonalds buns don’t have soya in them. Or the burgers for that matter.

RemorselessNorsemen · 27/11/2021 13:02

DD educated me the other week. If you ask for an "A Bag of dips please" you'll be given an 'A' sized bag full.
It will be a long time before I run out of dips in this house...

It reminds me of an angry woman who stormed up to a drive thru window with a large McDonald's bag.
I was sat in my car in a parking space opposite munching my fries with a grandstand view.
Angry woman, who looked like she could have knocked Tyson Fury out with one punch, stormed up to the drive thru window, ignoring the queuing cars and proceeded to pull items out of the bag, like a magician pulling items out of a hat
This...shouts angry woman, is not a double cheeseburger, while slamming it down on the counter.
This....is not a large fries...whumph, down they went onto the counter...
On it went until she'd emptied the bag which she then screwed into a ball and threw into the window with a ' sort it!! '
I was so enthralled that my own fries went cold.

You see, this is a prime example of why a maccy D's is bad for us. Our blood pressure soars when they get our orders are wrong I think that woman was pushed to the edge

And that is exactly why poor DD quit her job as a shift manager. Problem is a huge turnover of serving staff, shift managers who stay for a year or two thinking things will change and/or they can change them and management who want to run busy overnight shifts on the smallest crew. Couple that with franchise owners who have half a dozen branches and not a clue what really happens in any of them and it's no surprise they get orders mixed up and wrong.

Nobody should speak to anyone the way that woman did.

Offmyfence · 27/11/2021 15:41

I feel your pain!

Offmyfence · 27/11/2021 15:43

@GetInThereLewis

I'd save my sympathy for the animal's that suffered tbh.
There's always one! What made you open the post? To have a sanctimonious whinge?
Offmyfence · 27/11/2021 15:45

@CarrotSticks19

The other day I was self isolating with covid and subway delivered me ready salted walkers instead of tangy cheese doritos. I was going to save them for my evening film. Was pretty devastating tbh, such a shoddy replacement for tangy cheese doritos
Ready salted walkers are the best! YABU, and we can't be friends. Sorry!
UndertheCedartree · 27/11/2021 15:53

They are the worst for not putting dips in! My DS is Autistic and this causes a meltdown. I had to put in a second order and then phone the restaurant to ask them not to forget the dips. They were nice about it and sent us loads of extra dips so if it happens again I have back up!

ReginaFilange001 · 27/11/2021 15:56

We had the wrong order at our local drive thru recently. Was a treat for DD and we picked it up and went home. When we got home it was the wrong order - cue tearful child and upset me. Child would not eat any of it.
I messaged on Facebook and eventually (took 3-4 days for a reply) got a voucher to cover the cost of going again.

It is the absolute worst when they forget the dip. Like what is the point.
Rainbowshit · 27/11/2021 16:02

I always always check now as they very rarely get our order correct.
