To be devastated my McDonalds order is wrong (light hearted)

Very rarely have McDs but my car is in for its MOT so no transport nothing in the fridge and decided to get one delivered.

Was very excited

It took ages

When it got here:

My fries are missing
My drink is missing
My Festive Chicken thingy without bacon has bacon on it.
My Festive Chicken thingy does not however have any sauce on it. Just dry chicken and lettuce.
There are no dips for the nuggets they did manage to bring for DS.
There are no straws for the one drink they did send.

I have phoned the store over 20 times since 6pm and no one is answering. I now have no dinner. Though DS kindly donated a nugget :)

I've emailed the store and complained to the main customer service email thingy.

AIBU to be upset (not massively just petulantly and yes I know McDs is the devils food on every level but godammit I am HANGRY!)

Op I feel your pain . Our local McDonalds has a phobia of sending dips .
What is the flipping point of a dry 20 nugget share box .
Uber should refund if you complain .

Just dry chicken, lettuce and bacon you mean.

Yanbu I've given up ordering McDonald's, it's alway cold with something missing. I also find it never actually fills you up for long.

BarbaraofSeville · 26/11/2021 03:44

How on earth can they get it so wrong?

Plus to blame the delivery company is bizarre. I suppose it is possible that your driver stole your fries, drink and dips but they're not adding bacon to your food during delivery so that one is definitely down to McDs and that's a pretty bad mistake to make considering that lots of people don't eat bacon for religious reason, so if that applies to you, it probably renders the whole bag of food unsuitable.

One thing McDs should be good at is 100% order accuracy, so I'd definitely expect more than a derisory 10% discount as compensation. I'd expect the whole order replaced for free at the very least.

CarrotSticks19 · 26/11/2021 09:35

Hope you get it sorted OP today

Ridiculous response. Did Uber eats eat your bacon out of the burger? What a joke

mongoosebaby · 26/11/2021 09:55

Our local KFC are so bad at getting orders right that DH now stands at the counter, takes each thing out individually and checks it. They must hate us. Although in DH's defence it is always, always wrong.

Odoreida · 26/11/2021 09:58

This is why I don't understand why anyone gets food delivered ever. The disappointment must be crippling!

PaulRuddsWife · 26/11/2021 10:03

Every time I order from McD's they get it wrong (and yet I still keep at it, so more fool me). We've had someone else's order (there's was about a fivers worth and ours was nearly forty quid). Stuff missing and once delivered to the wrong house. They even sent a chicken wrap disguised as a vegetarian one (was in the veggie packet but had chicken in it) which was the last straw.

But sometimes, only a McDonald's will do (yes, junk food, plastic, rubbish, feel sorry for the kids blah, blah, blah).

Pedalpushers · 26/11/2021 10:52

Just guffawed on a bus at 'adding unwanted bacon in transit'

catgirl1976 · 26/11/2021 11:25

I rang Ubereats today who are going to refund me a whole £3 something for the fries and drink but because they clearly did not add the unwanted bacon they will not refund me for the burger. Nor did they care that there were no dips for the nuggets :(

I apparently need to go back to the restaurant re the burger. I am not sure I can be bothered at this point but the disappointment still cuts deep :)

RedSpotOfJupiter · 26/11/2021 11:28

they always leave out the dips here

how hard can it be!

PaulRuddsWife · 26/11/2021 11:41

Have you tried phoning the actual restaurant? Whenever I've had a wrong order from McDs, I get the refund or partial refund from Ubereats but I also phone the restaurant where it's come from and they always tell me I can go and get a free one (all of it, not just what's missing).

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 26/11/2021 11:42

It’s sounds piss poor but extra bacon in the burger I would have just removed. I won’t ruin the burger surely?

analbumcover · 26/11/2021 11:58

Of course you must be bothered @Catgirl1976, you need to do it for all of us

You have every right to be beside yourself. Devastating!

WhatdoImean · 26/11/2021 12:17

Interesting thread... if we keep it going long enough, how long until someone who works at MDs reading Mumsnet in their lunch break decides to respond :-)

catgirl1976 · 26/11/2021 12:36

Update :)

I got an email from Uberats and they are refunding the whole amount (so £20 rather than £3). Not sure if the man I spoke to felt sorry for me or if they made a mistake but it's gone in my bank (looks like they cancelled the card transaction as its not showing in my pending transactions list and my balance is exactly the same amount of the order higher than it was this morning)

I'm happy with that but still sad about the fries.

Solidarity to everyone else who has suffered the terrible inequity of looking forward to a pizza / chinese / kebab and instead received a joyless let down. I do think we need a support group.

And huge props to the toddler who launched the filet o fish at her mum's head in protest. That girl will grow up to do big things I can tell Grin

I have had some strange experiences with maccies in covid times.

Although I did get someone else’s order at the drive through and only noticed, it’s quite a drive so the food would of been inedible. It was a treat for just me and DS, we ordered a happy meal, extra nuggets, big tasty meal and cheese dips.

We needed up with:
20 nuggets
McChicken sandwich meal
Big Mac
Cheese burger Happy meal
And a double cheese burger

Win for us, not for the poor people who got our order

Xmasprrssiehelp · 26/11/2021 12:45

Also they was running the double quarter pounder meals I fancied trying one, lady seemed a bit confused when I ordered.

I didn’t check the price on the next window and just waved my card.

She put it through as two normal quarter pounder meals Grin

minou123 · 26/11/2021 12:49

At the rusk of upsetting you catgirl1976, my McD order has always been correct.

In fact, one time, I even got an extra small fries, that I didn't order.

Oh bugger, maybe that was your fries?
Ummmm, they were really delicious, btw Wink

catgirl1976 · 26/11/2021 13:06

@minou123 :( were they all salty and crispy and delicious

I'm so Envy

Yes, yes they were.

Really delicious Grin

If it helps, I enjoyed them on your behalf

MarshmallowsOnToast · 26/11/2021 13:20

I ordered just a choco fudge latte yesterday from the drive through as a treat after suffering toddler group.

The car in front sat there arguing about something for ages, so when I finally got it - the cream had all melted.

So I got all the extra calories of the cream without the benefit 😭😭😭😭

Devastating.

BorderlineHappy · 26/11/2021 13:25

We ordered through the drive thru one day and got home and half the fries was missing.
Went back and the woman at the counter accused me of eating them😂

kwiksavenofrillsusername · 26/11/2021 13:26

Our local drive thru always manages to mess up our order. And of course, you can’t really sit and check it because there are cars behind you. The worst one was when I was pregnant and ordered a Big Mac which came without sauce, lettuce or any extras. It was just burgers and dry buns. Disappointed was not the word.

I complained once and they sent me a £10 voucher. Which then didn’t work when I went to use it, so I paid full price. And then the meal still had a burger missing! At that point I decided never to bother again unless I was eating in.

longtompot · 27/11/2021 09:57

I had this recently @catgirl1976 Brought our order home, checked my eds Big Mac was without cheese before we left the drive through, got home and got all the food out only to see my chicken royale was missing! I don't really like Mac Donald's much but was really looking forward to this.I had the fries and my thick shake, and luckily my dh always orders an extra burger so I had that but it wasn't what I wanted.
I did report it and they have sent me a voucher to use next time so if you haven't done that, I would do so.
