To want to ‘cancel’ Paul Hollywood?!

I am just absolutely just so angry with Paul Hollywood. The way he as a man thinks he knows better then Prue. The way he ‘lords’ it over others. The bullying handshake. Just his tactics. I don’t like him on television. I don’t think a lot of people do. He flirts like a lech with the younger female competitors in GBBO.

I just don’t think people like him should be on our televisions anymore. He a bit of a Jim Davidson.

At least PH is only on one programme. Think about us poor Greg Wallace haters - he’s on everything!

They purposely bigged up Juürgen right from the beginning of GBBO, I knew he wouldn’t get to the final, they’ve done this previously really big up one contestant who then gets a bit big headed from the constant compliments and then doesn’t do so well right near the end.

Jürgen’s signature and show stopper weren’t as good as the others. He was rightly voted off. But I hated the way he was treated from the beginning.

His show stopper was better because it actually involved baking skill as opposed to modelling centrepieces out of rice crispies and marshmallow

He remind me of a 2002 taxi driver who wears his block phone on a belt with a blue tooth in his ear, talking to his mates about ‘some piece’ who he pulled in a nightclub old men go (there is one in every town- we called them grab a grandad club) while discussing his impending trip to Benidorm and how much his ex wife shafted him.

They aren’t crying over a bit of cake though, are they? They’re releasing emotional stress, they never get enough time for the bakes, the challenges are often ‘blind’ or very limited on info, in competition with their peers AND they’re on prime time TV. They are having a perfectly normal reaction to a stressful situation.

I think when he was the only one that moved over to C4 it became the Paul Hollywood bake off. I can't stand him so I don't watch it. Beforehand the other presenters balanced it out for me so he wasn't as annoying but now I just can't see past him.

In the first few series of bake off he wasn't so smarmy, he was quite (dare i say) likeable. Then it all started with the silver fox and sex symbol stuff, and he thought he was gods gift and developed his pat mustard swagger. Whilst his wife was trying to find her place with the new fame (didn't she do a book???), then he went to america shagged the host, ditched the wife and found the younger model.

I used to watch GBBO but recently I've realised there are so many moments I can't bear that I'm saner just not bothering. I HATE the fucking handshakes, it's become so cringingly awful. The badly written voiceover drives me up the wall. I hate the way the contestants are chosen to fit particular slots - Working-Class Old Salt of the Earth, Adorable Foreigner, Hardworking Mum, Kooky Cutie, Gay Dad, Comedy Engineer, Teen Ingenue, etc. etc.

I think Matt Lucas has been the final straw because even though I have nothing against him and he seems nice, as a PP said it's that constant desperation to be funny and quirky and I just can't be arsed. You need max one presenter to be like that and Noel does it better. You need the other to be more kind and straightforward which Sandi did well.

Jürgen's showstopper was serenely beautiful. His jade boats fit the zen theme that he went for, with the Japanese temple and symbols... minimalist but masterfully crafted and flavours were apparently spot on. Was he supposed to use garish colours and rose piping in this theme? It seems like they were scrambling to find something wrong with it.

He's one of the main reasons I stopped watching BO but agreed that 'being unbelievably annoying and believing your own publicity' isn't cancellable.

I got caught back for 2 episodes this time because Jurgen reminded me of a past lover who was incredibly good in bed. Paul Hollywoof... doesn't.

My DD calls him potato man - because his head is potato-shaped apparently rather than to do with recipes - and she's always outraged when he appears "Why is potato man in THIS as well?"

I don't like him he's too full of himself and I don't like noel fielding who is not funny and slightly creepy and to be honest matt lucas is a bit irritating too. Prue is the best one on it perhaps they should bring in Mr Kipling or Raymond blanc I like him or that woman what makes cake and used to go out with Paul McCartney with the red hair Jane (asher?) the old presenters were much better. French n Saunders would be ideal

You cannot 'cancel' a person. How utterly stupid. But you may wish he wasn't on the programme.

I’ve never really liked PH. I was at the Chatsworth Country Fayre a couple of years ago & Paul Hollywood was the “guest” chef in the food hall doing demonstrations. I was sat with a friend at a champagne bar having a glass over looking the river. It was all lovely until one of PH “people” came along and asked us to move because they wanted to make way for PH returning to his Winnebago or wherever he was retiring too-I assumed they believed a member of the lowly public couldn’t be within 5 feet of him. There was only the two of us.
Not sure what they thought would happen.

I didn’t move.

We didn’t see him so he must have found another way back. Liked him even less after that.

I was gutted when I heard he was moving over. Noel has made it alllllllll better for me though.
