AIBU to not answer the door when she arrives?

I have a few unused gift sets that I advertised for free in a local page.

A woman massaged me this morning to ask if they were available? I told her yes and she arranged to collect this evening at 5.45.

6.15 comes and no sign of her so o message to ask if she’s still coming

She replied…

“Chill, I’m just putting petrol in the car”

She’s still not here.

Fucking hate time wasters, especially cheeky ones. I’m tempted not to answer the door if she eventually turns up. What is it with entitled people who think you’ll sit around all evening waiting for them to come!

OP posts:

Text her to say someone else has been collected them now.

Willowrose63 · 18/11/2021 19:13

So rude!

thepeopleversuswork · 18/11/2021 19:13

God that's rude. I'd bin them and not open the door.

RealBecca · 18/11/2021 19:15

I would just text and say someine else has collected them now.

Datsandcogs · 18/11/2021 19:15

Please answer the door to her and tell her someone else has already collected! A kind freebie doesn’t deserve the attitude she’s already shown.

Robin233 · 18/11/2021 19:16

I had this.
Message me twice.
Then made a time ti collect the following day.
Never turned up.
What a plonker.
So I left the 2 items out front the day after.

Someone took them but I bet it wasn't her.
Unbelievably rude.

WildFlowerBees · 18/11/2021 19:16

If it's toiletries, your local Women's Aid would be grateful of them I'm sure.

Soupseason · 18/11/2021 19:16

Just leave it out front for her to pick up whenever she gets there. Job done

crosbystillsandmash · 18/11/2021 19:16

@thepeopleversuswork
You'd 'bin them'?!
Wow, really?
Not donate to charity?

Sexnotgender · 18/11/2021 19:17

So rude!

I had similar this week. Selling a cot on marketplace. Lady messaged asking if I’d accept £40, said I would. She said great can I come pick it up tomorrow? Yes, here’s my address.

Never showed up. Fucking idiot.

ZenNudist · 18/11/2021 19:18

Please give it to your local homeless shelter or church for fair or ask food bank if they hive out toiletries or drop in a collection for old people/ children who don't have anyone to buy for them .

VainAbigail · 18/11/2021 19:18

@Skeumorph

'Soz hun they've gone'

'Wtf, I'm on the way etc.'

'Chill, you snooze you lose'

Grin

🤣

Do this op!

gamerchick · 18/11/2021 19:19

I'd message her back saying not to bother.

In future don't give your address number. Just the postcode and steet name and ask them to message for the number when they get there.

tallduckandhandsome · 18/11/2021 19:20

Clearly she doesn’t need them. Could you take turn to a charity shop? Women’s refuges are good too if they need them but there may not be one nearby.

Graffittiunderpass · 18/11/2021 19:20

@WildFlowerBees

If it's toiletries, your local Women's Aid would be grateful of them I'm sure.
This is a great idea
Eastridingclub · 18/11/2021 19:20

This is not the crime of the century but my goodness is it annoying.

PingedPotato · 18/11/2021 19:22

it's annoying enough without the chill

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 18/11/2021 19:23

Text her and say its been taken. I have zero fucking time for people who keep me waiting.

gogogogo1 · 18/11/2021 19:23

@Skeumorph

Another vote for doing this! That would be brilliant. Text her this and let us know what she says!! Grin
LagneyandCasey · 18/11/2021 19:23

Please don't let her have them, op.

KittenCatcher · 18/11/2021 19:25

Has she turned up yet

takethattime · 18/11/2021 19:27

Our food bank are looking for stuff like this for Christmas hampers. Plenty more deserving than this rude git.

GrandTheftWalrus · 18/11/2021 19:28

I'm the opposite. Went to collect a cot, it was very slippery outside due to snow/ice and because I was pregnant I was being careful so I text the person panicking I may be late. She wasn't bothered.

Yummymummy2020 · 18/11/2021 19:29

So rude, I’d tell her I have to go out and can’t wait any longer for spite! I had this and like a sap waited in not once but twice!

LittleDandelionClock · 18/11/2021 19:29

Cheeky cow! Shock Being told to chill or 'calm down' is the most patronising, arrogant, and sanctimonious thing anyone can say. It's a way of shutting someone down, who is getting rightfully annoyed about something, or who is passionate or angry. It's basically someone saying 'calm down luv, stop being hysterical.' Patronising as fuck. I see it on here sometimes. Someone is getting annoyed and pissed off about something, and/or voicing a really passionate opinion, and every time, someone says 'calm down!' ARGH! Drives me nuts! Who the fuck do they think they are? Angry

I would not even communicate with this woman any more @Lightasafly Someone telling me to CHILL. Fuck that! As pps have said, just tell her if she contacts you again, just say 'the stuff's gone, someone just came to get it as I assumed you didn't want it.' Then block her.
