I am team chiggs all the way but feel like they will give it to crystelle. I think he has had a fantastic year and sort of deserves it more. I know that might be wrong to say.

What are your thoughts

Laiste the judges didn’t know Jurgen’s sausage rolls had been on the floor until the episode was aired - Prue didn’t know until she saw it as a guest on Extra Slice - so whatever was influencing their judging it wasn’t that.

The sausage rolls went back in the oven after they fell on the floor so they would have been fine to eat.

I also think it's a shame Jürgen went out but I could see it coming when he was the only one that didn't get a handshake. I so hoped it would be one of those episodes where no-one gets eliminated but it was not to be.

I think it could be anyone's final - it looked like a two horse race between Guiseppe and Jürgen up till a couple of weeks ago but Chrystelle and Chigs have been going from strength to strength recently. It's going to be exciting!

Confident attractive female especially if ethnic = disaster on tv. There was a girl on this years Masterchef also attractive, confident and ethnic who also had a small gate campaign going on.

A confident white male flapping and falling about and shrieking down the phone would put me off me too I wouldn't care if they were brown, black orange or bloody purple, from London or from Mars - all the face pulling and dramatic performance for the cameras is annoying!

It's nothing to do with ethnicity or sex. I've got 4 daughters (3 in their 20s) and i'm well aware of what misogyny is and i rage against it all the time. If one of my DDs were behaving like Chrystelle does i'd happily tell them they were being bloody irritating and to reign it in too!

It does no good to expect women to unconditionally like/support ALL other women and then accuse them of racism and sexism if they don't. I'm a woman - am i not allowed to say what i think now for fear of being called sexist?! Fuck that.

I find Nadiya quite wholesome, good viewing, less threatening to most women.
It’s a well known fact attractive females get a hard time amongst other females, doubly so if they are ethnic.
I’m not even a Christelle fan, I’m devastated Juergen is out!

The first week we watched, DH commented that Crystelle was stunning and would probably get to the final , before we even knew what her baking was like.
But she is a good baker and has made some amazing cakes (im sad Freya went out so early as I thought she was also very talented) so I don't think that was the main reason! Although I still don't know how they separated the 4 of them in the end, it seemed there was literally nothing in it (if anything, Chigs technical disaster should have counted against him)
And I still didn't understand why they didn't taste or even critique the centre piece of their show stopper. Why did it even need to be edible (or even there at all) if they weren't going to taste it? I commented that Chigs central biscuit tree might be too simplistic compared to the others but they didn't really mention any of them!

I like Crystelle but the over top crying grates on me. But as pps have said, people don't like confident women so I can see she's been socialised to do it.

Can’t speak for anyone else but I find her over the top am dram clutching at the counter and pretending to fall over whenever she does well annoying. Nothing to do with her sex or race, I would find a white man doing the same equally irritating I think she’s a good baker, very creative and if she does feel that she has to pretend not to be any good because of female conditioning I think that’s a shame

There was a contestant called David a few years ago who i (and it seemed several other MN) found a bit irritating and he came across really smug.
He was male and white.
Someone on MN knew him ,and said that was not at all what he was like in RL.
Maybe we don't like anyone to be confident?

The hate against Crystelle is wild - going as far as one PP reassigning the dropped sausage roll incident to her, when it was actually Jürgen! She's obviously extremely skilled, and so many women suffer genuine imposter syndrome / anxiety. It's a high pressure situation, too.

I was sorry to see Jurgen go, but all four did very well last night and think it must have been incredibly close. I'd have liked them all to go through to the final. I actually like all three remaining competitors and don't really mind who wins now.

Definitely agree with others about how annoying Paul is. Matt is also extremely annoying. That Bowie/Freddie/Elvis bit at the beginning of the show was just stupid. I was glad Prue didn't take part (except to tell them to get on with it )!

I kept thinking how much Freddie would have hated it. He had an eating disorder and was a tiny little man - only suffering bloating and weight changes in relation to his ill health. I really don't like that they had him portrayed that way, it felt too much like mockery.

I thought it was funny. Its a light hearted show, surely - or should be #justiceforjurgen

Sorry but this really pisses me off.

But she’s a contestant on a tv show that shoots hundreds of hours of footage and edits according to a fairly cartoonish vision of what each contestant/judge/presenter is ‘like’ — maybe Crystelle is actually a melodramatic person, or maybe she’s edited to focus on that aspect, and the hours when she’s quietly getting in with stuff don’t figure. Just like Lizzie was ‘zany’, Maggie was ‘trad older WI type’ etc. I mean, they’re cast by the producers for that stuff as well as their baking abilities.

Either way, I don’t see how anyone can declare someone ‘fake’ from a tv programme. Of course was you’re seeing on screen is manufactured — just like Big Brother. The cosines shouldn’t blind us to that. Dani, the nice medic from a bunch of series ago, said it well when she said the producers were making a product, and the bakers aren’t it.

@Kikkomam Everyone's personal taste in humour is different! Sorry if I came off as saying it was wrong to be amused by it - that wasn't really what I meant. Was just talking about my own reaction
