I am team chiggs all the way but feel like they will give it to crystelle. I think he has had a fantastic year and sort of deserves it more. I know that might be wrong to say.

What are your thoughts

I never really took to Jürgen, but I was really annoyed on his behalf at him not getting through to the final. He was consistently one of the best, steady without the dramatics. He was robbed!! And being the only one not to get a handshake was just mean.
My favorite was Lizzie. But I’d like Giuseppe to win of those left.

No doubt the final will be some ridiculous challenge all about time pressure instead of baking. I wish they would just do something simple that everyone bakes such as a Victoria sponge, but just do it really well with a bit of innovation. Who wants a bake a giant 3D biscuit toy? And I’d never even heard of an entremet.

I feel like they bent the rules a bit the previous week, lizzoe performed better than crystelle but went and I think they should have kicked crystelle out this week instead

We were disappointed Jurgen went. I liked how he was just there for baking , no stories, not that interested in making (inane) convo with Matt and Noel, just getting on with it. Even when he said he was running out of time or behind schedule, he didn't look like he was panicking, rushing or looking flustered.
However I feel that's probably not what the TV producers are looking for - they need drama, tears, people engaging with the camera (I felt Jurgen seemed quite reserved or shy) backstories, cakes falling apart, people running out of time etc.

I was disappointed they didn't keep all 4 in. I guess I'd most like Guissepe to win.

I would bet that a lot of Jürgen's apparent lack of personality was down to editing to portray him as a certain stereotype. The show seems to relish in that kind of humour. He seemed like an amazing character tbh. One of my favourite bits of information was when Giuseppe revealed Jürgen had been tutoring them ahead of the German week. Must be one of the reasons why everyone did a fantastic signature bake that week.

I was going to have difficulty choosing between Giuseppe and Jürgen (my two favourite bakers for years) so the bogus semi-final result at least resolved that dilemma. Chigs has definitely grown on me. I find Crystelle's bakes a bit frou-frou and old-fashioned.

The Hollywood Handshake bollocks is annoying because it gives Paul sole power to convey which bakes are excellent and not just good. Prue is rendered superfluous, especially compared to Mary.

I cannot BEAR Crystelle's constant linking of bakes to (usually dead) members of her family - it's absolutely cringy. I find her reactions very fake too... Team Guiseppe all the way although I was devvoed Jurgen went.

It has definitely become the Paul Hollywood show, Prue might as well not be there. Sadly I don’t think im going to watch next year - even though I love baking.

It is. It’s also disturbingly reminiscent of the dislike directed at Candice Brown who won it a few seasons ago, Similar cries of ‘fake’, I seem to remember. As if, as a pp pointed out, women aren’t socialised into the appearance of modesty in a way men just aren’t.

I thought the Lizzie thing was a bit off - they said she’d bot been consistent but on a previous year said it was all down to performance on the actually day …

I am sad for Jurgen but the others have improved massively whereas he was brilliant but remained at that level.

I will miss Jurgen's accent.

I don't hate Crystelle! I was so invested in Jurgen I don't really have an allegiance to anyone else. I do think she's the most obvious and marketable which puts me off her a bit. I think Chigs will win though.

Jurgen was robbed!! I don't like Crystelle she comes accross as very fake and feigns shock everytime she gets praise. I like Guiseppe but Chiggs has done really well to say he's only been baking a year.

I'm getting a bit bored with the inedible but showy ginger biscuit / rice krispy tower type stuff.
Not to mention the endless crap stories about the creation being inspired by their beloved great granny.

Pru just seems like a guest judge, she has many awards, been in the industry for years and is well respected. Why do they keep going with the Hollywood handshake, it's a meaningless show of his own self importance and giving out 3 as a obvious snub was pathetic. What awards has he ever won except for a book. I think all 4 should have gone through.

Christelle is absolutely stunning! Her bakes look good but oh my...her constant shock!

I don't care. Should have been Jurgen. Crystelle and Chigs have both had off weeks throughout. Crystelle only narrowly avoided losing out to Lizzie last week. But Jurgen and Giuseppe have been consistent throughout. I was way angrier than I should have been about him being sent home.

They have to judge it week by week and I think Jurgen rode his luck one week which wasn't fair as in previous season Hollywood has always said they have to judge on that weeks bake not how well a contestant has performed previously. I did like Jurgen and thought Giuseppe should have gone this week. For me Chiggs to win, if it is true that he only recently started baking then he is doing really well. Chrystelle seems nice enough but I don't think she is as consistent as the other two that being said it depends on who copes with the pressure if the finale best.

Do Paul and Prue actually make the examples of what they're looking for, in the time limit, or does that honour go to a behind the scenes minion?

I was very afraid Giuseppe was going to go the other night, as I thought he didn't have his strongest week, but given Chigs' made a hash of the Technical he could easily have gone too. It would have been a good twist to have all four in the final though.

A bit over the handshakes now - sometimes they're good to see, but giving three handshakes to a group of four just felt mean, and left a sour taste. It also totally relegates Prue, and makes it seem that the judges aren't on an equal footing.

Was sorry to see Jurgen go, but it didn't quite
beat Lottie getting chucked last year for sheer injustice!

I wonder if Jurgen also suffered from the same thing as Strictly, where the person who is obviously the best from day one never wins, cos it's all about the 'journey'...

Jurgen - i recon he's out because he didn't warn the judges his food had been on the floor.

Chigs - my favourite.

Giuseppe - 2nd fav.

Chrystelle - all the squealing, flapping, big eye'd 'look at me' stuff has put me off.
