I am team chiggs all the way but feel like they will give it to crystelle. I think he has had a fantastic year and sort of deserves it more. I know that might be wrong to say.

What are your thoughts

Noel Fielding is so bloody irritating. I'm surprised nobody told him to piss off and leave them alone yet!

I would smack Noel with that spatula. I can’t stand him or Matt in this.

I think Jurgen peaked early and the Chigs and Crystelle upped their game as the show went on. I actually quite like Crystelle she seems a little blunt and OTT, but in a good way. She was clearly distraught when Lizzie went out and appears to get on v well with the rest of the bakers. Chigs seems to be a sound guy too. Out of the 3 my fave is Giuseppe because he genuinely comes across as lovely. Unpopular opinion but I did think Jurgen was a little smug- and whenever other bakers were having issues he never looked sympathetic or tried to help.

I agree. I didn't dislike Juergen, but I don't think he was the leading baker in the way some are suggesting. And he didn't seem terribly sympathetic to others.

Noel and Matt were both really irritating and not at all funny - their partnership is done IMO. I thought the wrong person won but it's been really close tbh.

That was great - pleased for Giuseppe (although wouldn't have minded any of them winning!). Really felt for Crystelle with her focaccia!

Loved the end VT - made me cry!

@Billandben444 I do agree with you about Noel and Matt - they're both irritating and there is nothing endearing about their partnership. Miss Sandy (& especially Mel and Sue!)

Agree they're both really irritating. But Noel seems much more in the contestants' faces than Matt. When Guiseppe forgot to heat his oven, why would Noel think it was in any way remotely amusing to make such a joke of it and tell him that heat is essential for baking? Just at the point where he was stressing about how to make up the lost time?

My work christmas dinner was meant to be tonight but was cancelled due to rising covid numbers. Seeing Guiseppe win Bake Off tonight made up for it!

Worthy winner.

Pleased with the result. I'd love to see Nadia take over from Matt and Noel.

I'm surprised Guiseppe won having burnt the Belgian buns, but I guess he deserves it for his performance throughout the series as a whole.

Nadia would be a great shout to host (or even as a judge to replace Paul!)

I like Guisseppe but believe Jurgen was robbed of the title.
Guisseppe's Belgian buns were burned yet he won.
Poor Crystelle- it must have been devastating that her focaccia was raw. She had done so well.
Her decorative skills were brilliant. I can see her being the " name" for a line of gorgeous baked goods for a big supermarket chain.

Nadia is very irritating. I'd like to see Susan Calman instead of Matt (his German week was rude and obnoxious) and Noel needs to be spoken to about last night's antics and told to rein it in a bit - it's not a comedy show. He and Susan would make a good pairing.

I feel the same. I mean what was that stupid alien impression. I've always found his "comedy" juvenile.

Susan Calman is also a good shout @Billandben444 - very comforting type of persona which would just be perfect for Bake Off (I feel the same about Nadia).

Oh not Susan Calman she’s as funny as toothache! Agree they need to change the format but someone else please!
