I am team chiggs all the way but feel like they will give it to crystelle. I think he has had a fantastic year and sort of deserves it more. I know that might be wrong to say.

What are your thoughts

But Crystelle does exciting things with flavours and every time you can see P&P being a bit curious about how that will work out, they’re bowled over by it. Pull off that innovation and finesse and she might get it.

I am so totally over Matt and Noel. They are unfunny, their jokes are lame and they’re irritating in how they talk to their contestants.

So I’d only not shake Paul’s hand once I’d deliberately not laughed at any of the lame jokes.

In the Technical, the placing they received over the 9 shows I totted up and divided their total then by 9.
The lower the average score the better at the Technical Challenge :
Jurgen 2.7
Guiseppe. 3.0
Chigs. 4.4
Crystelle. 5.8

The results speak for themselves.
Jurgen is the better baker.

I like Pru - she always says something kind. I’d like her and Mary Berry to do Bake off and ditch the smarty git Paul!

Chiggs, I agree Crystal is annoying and fake. She reminds me of Priya in Emmerdale who is is equally annoying and fake!

It's not about performance over the series though - it's down to who was best on the day. It just wasn't Jurgen's day, even though he had been brilliant

The Hollywood Handshake makes me cringe, and Crystel nearly passing out and doubling over in shock really just highlights his ridiculous it is. I thought the way they all went on about it in front of Jürgen was just unkind.
When Prue said it was a pity SHE wasn't the one handing out handshakes I just thought 'Do it, Prue!' PH doesn't have exclusive use of handshakes!

I thought Prue should have given the handshake too. I was disappointed that Juergen left this week. I thought he was a really good baker, did excellently in the competition generally, but especially in the technical rounds which showed real baking knowledge.

Ok, I will admit that Juergen is a friend (in RL) of my sister. And she says he really is the lovely person that comes across in the programme. I'll be interested to watch Extra Slice this week.

The handshake comment from Prue was weird. It made Paul look like a bit of a bully.

Are women not allowed to shake hands? Is an accolade from Prue worth less than one from Paul. What would happen if Prue just said 'sod it, I'm shaking your hand'? Would Paul implode? Would Prue be sacked? Or would the world just go on as it always does ?

Team Jurgen here! Now I’d be happy with Chiggs or Giuseppe but, please, not Crystel. She makes me cringe. Every sprinkle of sugar is dedicated to someone and she’s so over the top!

I don't see the point in watching any more, it's not a baking show, it's a show led jointly by Paul Hollywood's groin and ego.

Juergen shouldn't have gone and I think this will come back to bite Hollywood on the a*se as it's made him look petty and ridiculous because he's always been slightly in awe of Juergen.

I was literally just saying to dh how much I enjoyed this season as they were all such good bakers and it was much more impressive than other years, then the handshake bollocks started.

And Prus comment pissed me off. Just have the courage of your convictions and give the man a handshake

wow - not watched it yet this week - usually watch on catch up - amazed that Jurgen has gone; it was an odd week if he didn't get star baker.

Crystelle is a great baker, but the false modesty melodrama 'omg star baker' comes across as overbaked. Still gutted the vegan baker left so early and was backing the lovely Jürgen all the way! But ultimately team chiggs

Paul Hollywood is an egotistical jerk and the constant handshaking/ making it all about him is really irritating.

And yes I know, I could just not watch. TBH, I haven't watched much since it moved to C4 and they lost Mary (Mary was a good balance to Paul. Prue is too similar as a judge, piles on more with his judgements rather than offsetting them. Not that she needs to ofc, but it was better before). The first season on C4 he was doling out handshakes left and right; I just turned it off.

I came back about halfway through this season to see what the Jurgen fuss was about. I'm glad I did, because he was so enjoyable to watch. I admit I was shocked he left, which was silly of me, because as has been noted in this thread, he was the least marketable of the final four and was never going to go through.

Why do they even have a technical challenge btw if it means nothing in the end?

@cakewench I agree, so GBBO should be renamed "The Great British Bake Off - Never Mind The Baking Has He/She The Face For Future Telly Appearences or Cook Book Marketing Show"

Watched it last night. 3 handshakes and then send Juergen home. I am desperately disappointed by how gimmicky it was
I expect better from the Bake-off!

I might be in the minority but actually wasn't a fan of Jurgen 🙄 but I love Giuseppe and hope he wins. I really like Chigs too but Gisueppes bakes are always really meticulous looking and I think he's really sweet. Jurgen lacked personality even though he was technically good. Bake off is my comfort blanket

But I still adore Pru Leith, she is absolutely what I aspire to be when I am in my 80’s.
